Don't get frustrated..GET EVEN!
Do this role Playing: Pretend you are a mortician: " Thanks for calling FRESH CADAVER MORTUARY, How may I help you?".... If the person is still on the other line, follow up with...."May I have the name of the deceased relative, please."...if he/she hasn't hang up..add, "And may I have your name sir/ma'am..
Will work best if you have caller ID so you can easily spot the "cadaver's relative"..

I received this call a few weeks ago. I was told that cell numbers had been taken off the do not call list. However, I found out that is not true. However, what I did find out is that political calls and charity callers are now allowed to call you on your cell phone even though many of us may have limited minutes and then endup having to pay for extra minutes. This is wrong the government never should have allowed this to happen. Please write to your legislators to get them to be responsible and proactive not reactive. After all for me my cell phone is for safety and emergency first and after all. I am the one who pays the bill. I should be able to control who can and can not call be. Even if it is for political or charity. We still have the US mail service for solicitations and that is where it should take place. Our privacy rights have been striped from us.

got the same type call from 503-468-5986 two days earlier.
They are getting around the do not call list by claiming they are only taking a survey.

If you read all the posts on here as well as on other telemarketing sites it is obvious that the DNC does not work and there are too many scams to police and people need jobs. In the city where I live already almost 10000 have lost jobs in call centers that keep going out of business or leaving the state and it happened to me and it took me almost 3 years to find work and unemployment only covers 98 weeks. Then you have to beg and borrow to get by as well as going on every social program you can find. The DNC is a law of selfishness and next they will pass a law where sales people cant even go up to you in a store and help you because you are on some kind of a list that says "You cannot sell to me at all or I will scream and yell and scream and yell and scream and yell at you and treat you like crap". That ould not suprize me in the least. Thanks for that number and will give it to all my friends that work in the industry.
| SICK OF PHONE HARASSMENT 2012-05-02 08:45:37 Telemarketer |
These jerks keep calling us and tying up our phone machine with a computerized nonsense message about "a short survey and free vacation to Bahamas, blah-blah.." They call at all hours.
We are sick of this baloney and are notifying the FCC Unwanted Telemarketer Persistent Caller Complaint Line at 1-888-225-5322. Suggest everyone bothered by these jerks do the same. The FCC will FINE these annoying blockheads if they persist in calling after they've been turned in to the above Complaint Line. (At least that is what the Phone Company told us... Of course, who can trust AT&T?! or the FCC, for that matter, nowadays?)
Anyway... Please report these jerks to FCC and see if we can get some relief from their harassment.

Telemarketers/robocallers often don't have your specific number when they call you or know that the number is a cell phone. The "robocallers" go by the NPA (area code) and NXX (local exchange number, such as the 123 in 979-123-xxxx, and it's normally specific to a local city/town or area of a city/town).
What the solicitors do, for example, is program their system to begin calling area code 979-123-0000 and dial through 979-123-9999. I retired from the phone company and we had the first ten phone numbers for our use in the office. We would get a call on the 0000 number and it would be a solicitor. We'd tell them we are a business, they'd say sorry and hang up. Then our 0001 number would ring and it would be the same caller; then 0002 would ring, etc.
They'll get different recordings when they call an NXX that does not exist in an area code versus a specific number that is not being used. So they (or their computer program) can tell to stop calling, for example, 979-123, if the NXX of 123 does not exist in area code 979.

Saw this number on my caller ID a few times, is this the same company www.pacifictel.com from California when the number is based out of Washington State?

Received a call from GOVERNMENT SURVEY. I don't take surveys from IRAN, IRAQ, Pakastan or ANY other "government". If they only would supply an address I would send in a drone to take them out. I still think suing the phone company that sells them service is the way to go.

Received call from this number AFTER listing with the government's do not call list. Is this where they got my cell number?
| Bruce 2012-04-28 16:01:03 Unknown |
If this is a survey call you are covered on the national do not call list if the call is to you cell phone.
I got this call 2x's in the last two days. I reported them 2x's on the national do not call list as they called my cell phone.

well. i answered. woman asked by my name if i was the person she was talking to. in my best Kentucky accent i asked her to identify herself, (the Courteous thing to do). she repeated her opening statement as did i. then her again. i then rudly asked for i.d.. at that point she warned me the call was being recorded. we went back and forth a few times with me becoming more hostile, obscene and loud, and her telling me she was going to end the call, which i informed her would be alright with me, but she hung in there. i think she was getting off on the obscenity. i was running out of bad things to say to her and ended the call by telling her off with "and don't call back again you f***ing c**t, and hung up.

Received a phone call from this number late on Friday night. They left no message. Annoyed that they would call my cell.

The contact information might be very old. The phone number will have been recycled to the telemarketer.
I have had my phone number for many years. When a reverse search is performed on my number the former owner is someone who had it during the 1990's.
