I'm really close to changing my phone number due to all these harassment calls.  It's a BIG pet peeve since High school.

I got a call from this number at 11:00 a.m. He told me he was calling from Missouri.  He had a heavy East Indian accent. He was calling from Windows and needed to service my computer. I started to play along and nicely asked for their information. I was going to tell him some not so nice things, but he hung up on me as soon as he thought they were not getting to my computer. Argh!!!

They called when we were away, and they didn't leave a message.

This looks like more hucksters out there to pull scams, frauds, and pestering of people. Since I did not recognize that number of legitimate contacts or businesses, I don't bother wasting my time answering.

I am in so. California. I have been receiving quite a few of thes calls from the same ID, In Sur Group, but from different numbers: 360-474-3921, 360-474-3936, 206-496-0957, at least six calls now.
First time 06/18, 7:27pm, I called back because I thought it was from a surgery group and one of my relatives was in the hospital. The female recording told me the number was no longer in service.
Now I just let the machine answer but they leave no message.
Last call was on 06/21/2012 at 7:30 pm. from 206-496-0957.
My number is listed on at donotcall.com and you are now a nuisance.

I have received a call from this number and variations of it.  Its annoying.

They are not out to 'annoy' you, they want to SCAM you out of money.  And, apparently, they are successful enough with enough people to make it worth their while to continue attempts at it.

The reason you get so many HANG UP calls is they use COMPUTER ROBO-DIALERS.  The Robo-dialers dial anywhere from 10 to 100 numbers at a time.  The first 1-20 of these numbers who 'respond' (answer with a voice ("Hello?") or voice mail/answering machine are immediately routed to a RECORDING with the PHONY Survey/Cruise Spiel. THE OTHER NUMBERS ARE QUICKLY "DROPPED" (hung up on), with the computer being programmed to make a note to 'try again later."  THAT's why you get so many REPEAT calls that are Hang Ups or "dead."

Of the numbers that DO answer in some fashion, whether its people who press a number to be 'taken off the telemarketer's 'list' OR  those who fall for the Survey Ruse, THOSE numbers will then get immediately sent to a phone bank with the live telemarketers sitting there, waiting for *their* phones to 'ring' or otherwise indicate they have a 'live' call for them to start their PHISHING SCAM to try and get your CREDIT CARD, Bank Account Numbers or ID Info for ID THEFT - anything they can do to MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOU.

You can best circumvent the whole process by pressing "IGNORE" on your cell phone (if available) OR picking up/hanging up IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT ANSWERING a Landline to 'break' the call and 'confuse' the Robo-dialer.  It won't know if it has a 'dead' line or just got disconnected 'in error.'  It probably won't completely stop the calls, but I've found it cuts down on the repeats from the same number in one day.

Of course the SCAMMERS CHANGE their NUMBER and start all over again the next day, as you can tell from these posts.

You can also SPEND MONEY to buy apps, special phones/equipment, and services to BLOCK these numbers and sometimes whole area codes, but again, this is not free, and sometimes is impractical if you have contacts within that area code.  (THAT's why I DEFINITELY BELIEVE the PHONE COMPANIES are PART of this whole CONSPIRACY, but PRETENDING they are not!)  The PHONE COMPANIES are MAKING MONEY off these scams by SELLING the PHONE LINES to the SCAMMERS and then SELLING the "ANTIDOTES" to these calls to US!!

Called, didn't leave message.  I never answer unknown callers.  I assume spam and later google to see if I'm right.  Right again this time!

I only got one call from this number typo. I just sent all the political calls in my complaint to the donot call and I'm begining to think that these calls are from a debt collector spoofing the numbers and names. It is strange for a debt collector to only call from a number once.

I got a call on the 21st from this number and on the 16th 206-496-0955 which I figure is the same place.  I believe that these are again some  of those bothersome political surveys.  I am on the national no calls list for both my home and cell phones and I am still getting these calls on both.  I keep reporting them but here they are again!

I got a call from 206-496-0957 on 6/21 at 7:15 PM. The ID says IND SUR GROUP.  I was getting calls from the same ID but the phone numbers were: 360-474-3921 360-474-3939.  If there is a name it goes to my answering machine without ringing but these callers never leave a message. I have a caller manager and if the number is not on my list, it is blocked.  I see the caller id is using many numbers.  I just block the area code if I know no one from the area. I do see they are trying my number from different ones. Looks like I will add area code 206 to my blocking. I have been on the DNC list also but no one pays attention so I got a caller manager for my phone. It shows all incoming numbers but only rings my phone if it is a number I have allowed.  I know how annoying all this is.  No way to stop it right now, I guess. I file complaints with the Feds about DNC ignoring but never heard anything.  I always check here when I see a strange number and it helps to know they are always .................."nuts!".

I got the the same message when I call back at 12:00am. Did anyone get a call from 650-396-8052 Backbone Commun. 05/30/2012? I don't usually get these many calls,I go for days and only get calls from my family. Every three months or so I get calls asking for the guy that had the telephone before me.when I called this number 650-396-8052 a man with an india accent told me he was in India and the donot call does not apply to them, I ask the name of the company he said Northland Group and he was calling for the guy that had this phone number (I am a female). The phone number seem to be coming from California. so I believe that this India is spoofing the numbers and names. My caller ID displayed 206-496-0957 IND SUR GROUP.  NORTHLAND GROUP is also in the USA.

It's 7:45 PM here in California. I just got a call from these a-holes a few minutes ago. This is just what it seems (or appears) to be - a telemarketing scam!

If you should connect with a live person, do not under any circumstances give them any information of any kind - personal or otherwise...

Also might I suggest you do as I so enjoy doing with these kinds of calls - but them on my Reject Call list, and if they call again they're greeted by the wonderful sound of a flishing toilet!

Called 7:30pm survey so they can call you will me 2 day cruse if I answer so questions. Oh ya I would bet on that!!! Just crap!!!

Am in Toronto. They called around 9:00 this morning. As soon as I saw the number on the call display,
knew it was a crap call and did not answer. No msg. left. Interesting, already 6 pages of complaints on this page in one day from this scammer.

This is ridiculous.  How can these calls be eliminated?

This is the same company w/a different phone number regarding the economy survey... They have been calling me for months using a 360 area code, but today after receiving a call from an honorably discharged friend of mine in the Seattle area using 206... this agency used that call area code to contact me. For the second time I listened to their WHOLE automated conversation, about pressing # 1 if I agreed to take their survey and stay on the line for a TRAVEL Agent, or pressing # 9 to have my phone number completely removed from their system permanently. They didn't do that for my husbands personal AND work phone number and I doubt they will actually follow through on my phone number - since all they did this time was call from a DIFFERENT area code.
