I posted a few items with Craigslist.com and at 3:30am someone texts asking about one of the items I have listed. I didn't get back to them until morning (around 8:30/9am), but what I thought was odd is they were saying that they wanted to verify that I was 'real' by answering a phone call and giving them a 'CODE.'
I understand that in today's world you really can't be too safe - BUT, the automated response when I answered the (206) 535-1827 call was stating that it was the Zillow site and don't give this code to anyone, be careful of fraud, ...this is a code meant to enter directly into the site....???
So, I responded to the person that texted me through C.List, who now seemed to be getting agitated that I was not going to give them the code, because I was asking them to tell me which website to go to in order to enter the code...
ANY HOW - I believe this is tied to FRAUD - and I hope no one else is SCAMMED into this. PLEASE be careful this holiday season.
And I don't know if this is a real telephone number - but the person that texted me from Craig's List was texting from 908-505-5625
