Please be aware of James Sawyer from Craigslist. When you respond to his email he then responds with philray111@gmail.com. He offers full price for item and does not have time to view it. This seemed very weird so I googled his email address and luckily people wrote about him already and what he had done to them.  Please do not fall for this scam. A shame people like this exist. Just wanted you to be aware.

Got same thing.. I just replied with:

Yes it is still for sale but the price has gone way up because of how rare this game is. Anyways the price is now 2.4 millions dollars. Money must be small unmark bills. If all goes well you will see your mother again. The ball is now in your court. You have 24 hours.....

Can I just say thank you to whom ever it was that posted his name in Google search. I have never posted anything on CL before and can't believe this was my first response. Question for all of you....has anyone ever gotten a check and tried to cash it? Just wondering what the banks are saying. Figure this would prompt an investigation.

Add another one in Arizona and the "alias" liylan.morre009@gmail.com.  That's who responded asking if item was still available.  I then received a response from Tommy Kelvin, the exact response noted within this entire string of messages.
Not sure why this string is tied to the "report a phone call", I didn't receive a call, just the email from a CL ad.

Yes, they seriously emailed me five times in a day. Not very smart scammers. You think someone might notice five different "God fearing" people wrote the exact same email and wanted to mail checks through craigslist...

I posted some wheels on CL, and "James" (phillray111@gmail.com) was not the first to reply, but was the most prompt and sure of himself. I have never SOLD anything on CL before, so I guess I didn't know the signs right away. I did get weird vibes, though, after the second or third message when I realized he hadn't mentioned anything about the product and would only answer one of my several questions at a time. Since I didn't give him any useful information (other than my mailing address, but plenty of people have that who I don't want to) I decided to play along with it as long as I could. He informed me that he mailed a check out to me, and we would discuss "shipping" later. I never agreed to ship the wheels. The price I asked for was $300, and I got a $2,900 check! Now, the check looks like someone made it on their computer and is not even signed. Not really sure what to do at this point, but I'm putting the wheels back on CL now that I'm %100 sure that the "James Sawyer" thing was BS. I would also be curious to find out if any agency is trying to crack down on these folks at all.

Here are some more emails that are linked to "tommy kelvin" the string all originated from his area.,  "james sawyer, aka phillray111@gmail., michelle cowan, aka skyhardin876@gmail.com and dorthy quin aka dorthyquinonsdc@gmail.com.  all responded to my ad on CL, same email generated,." thanks for your response, concider item sold, blah blah blah,  they even offered to pay an extra $ 50.00!  man they must think everyone is stupid.  Glad we have the internet to search names on these nuts, and thanks for this site to report.  I contacted CL and reported the activity. I "played " along with "james", will be interested to see if I get a check!!!  Would like to know if there is any officials that really search these people out.  Likely not, too many nut-jobs out there!   BYW, In Ft. Worth TX. area.

In an instant it sounds fishy. Knowone sends a company to pick up a piece of fine furnature. Glad I checked your website before doing anything. Thanks for the heads up on the slimy SCAMMER. Just fell for this.....'consider my window air cond. unit sold'....blah blah blah....never again with craigslist.  Of all items on there for sale, I was the chosen one...this time!

What can be done to report and other than the person cashing checks received; for the ones that gave initial requested information about themselves to this creep, have others experienced any repercussions with this??
