I forgot to mention this:  I filed a suspicious activity report with my local police force.

Why wouldn't I?  I received the portion of a phone call from someone that I'd never had any contact with, certainly not through the mail, who, for reasons known only to the caller, threatened my right to vote.

These folks are getting what they are asking for and I feel fine.

We got a call from this number (or so CID says) last night.  What we got was the portion of a robocall pre-recorded message - we didn't get the entire message because our answering machine message blocked out the first part of the message.  But the part that we got on tape was "...or you will not be able to vote in the upcoming election."  Then, the caller's recording hung up.

Go figure.

We don't know which of us the call was for or what preceded the '...or...' to threaten us.  So, this morning, I called my voter registration district.  I got told that there was no way that any of us would get called if there were a problem with any of our registrations and even if there were a problem that they would not call us from Seattle, WA.  I'm nowhere near Seattle, WA.  In the event that my voter registration office needed to call me, the call (which wouldn't be made in the first place) would come from a phone number with my area code.

Then, on the news just now, there was a clip on 'bullies' calling people with outrageous threats.  There aren't anymore details on this because the callers don't leave much behind if they are reduced to talking to an answering machine.  I"m guessing our call was the same thing.

Don't answer calls from these jokers.  They're up to no good.
