I am the receptionist for my company, and just received a call from this number.  The gentleman did not introduce himself, just asked for an employee who works at a site in another state.  I gave him the employees cell phone number.  He asked me to email the employee asking him to call him back, because he had left several messages for him already on the cell phone.  I asked if it was personal or business matter, and he said it was a personal business matter.  I told him because it was a person matter, I was unable to email the employee.

I said hello and he immediately started belittling me I never got a word in edge wise until finally I hung up on that uncooth rude S.  O. B. he called back but I refused the answer all 12 times then i googled his name and number and here I am.  I'm going to Email the attorney above me here and try to get this guy stopped he asked my GF how she could stand to date someone who doesn't pay their bills and asked her if she was embarrassed. He called me a whole slew of names and now I'm pissed!!!

This guy claiming to be Dave Wright asked for my daughter or son-in-law. I told him they didn't live here. He said he thought this was a cell or message phone (which one?) I did say it was my daughter and he said he needed to talk to her right away. I asked the reason and he just said personal business and wanted to know why I asked. I told him if I know why, I would try and get I touch with her. Her said it had to do with personal business, a children's program and then wanted to know why I was so defensive. I told him I wasn't defensive, just cautious. I asked why he was being so elusive and he stammered a bit and asked to leave a message. I told him fine. It was silent for a moment and I said I needed a name and number. He gave me his name and this number and I told him when I see her again I'll pass it along. He just hung up.

A person named Dave Wright, called my work number, telling the person answering the phone that he used to work with me at a past job.  She took a message, telling the person I was working on a project.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to LIE both to me, and to my employer.

I too have been receiving calls from "Dave".  He calls multiple times in a row to my cell and alternates that with calls to my work phone.  I have already filed a BBB complaint.  If you get a call from this number FILE A COMPLAINT.  Maybe if we get enough complaints against this company something will be done.

If you get a call from this number, DO NOT ANSWER!  If you do answer, DO NOT GIVE OUT BANKING INFO!  Real debt collectors have to provide something in writing indicating how much you owe and what the debt is in regards to.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Dave has called me twice, both of which I did not answer. The messages he left included my name and that it was very important that we talk. I didn't return his calls because I figured that if it were truly important, he would have given some incite on what he needed to talk to me about.

I find it highly annoying that Debt Collectors keep calling me, seeing that I'm 18 and have absolutely no debt.

Thank you for the information.  I have filed with all three organizations.  I have tried several attorneys to help me and I would be willing to give away any settlement if there were any.  I just find it to be the point that this company should not get away with what they do.  My problem is I am a business owner, So I don't have rights unless it was a personal debt.   This company has not sent me anything in writing, won't tell me what the debt is for and calls my office telling my employees how irresponsible I am.  It is horrible.  I don't know what else to do?  Please help.

Called my  house when I wasnt home and actually questioned my 11 year child about where I was & when I'd be home. When she got her dad the caller wouldn't say who he was or what this was regarding only saying " It's a business matter sir, who is this anyways?"  Another call from this number this morning and a message from a man named Dave to call him it is very important. Only reason I know it's a bill collector is from googling the number. And the only bill he could be calling about that I owe I already have a prior payment plan made and have been making payments. Very strange, and VERY unprofessional to question my child. VERY unhappy about this!!

This guy Dave Wright just called my cell phone and started harassing me over a debt that I don't even owe and called me a deadbeat for not paying my bills.  I explained to him that I have no money and he proceeded to say "who pays for your cell phone?"  When I told him that my son pays for it he suggested that my son should pay my bill.  I asked him "would you ask your son to pay for your bills if you were unable too?"  He said, "No because I am not a deadbeat!"  By the end of the call I was in tears.  I told my niece about the call and she stated that this tactic is illegal.  I want to do something about it.  I am going to report him now.  This is b***s*** and how does this guy have all of my information?

So today my 11-year-old brother came to my mother with a hand-written note that had been torn off of a piece of notebook paper that said my mother's name on it (spelled incorrectly) that instructed her to call this phone number that had been left on it. She called and there was no answer so he left a voicemail. She got a call back from David Wright and he asked to speak with me- that he had urgent business he needed to speak with me about. She didn't give him my number because she wanted to make sure I knew him. She calle me and I have never heard his name in my life so she called him back and asked him what kind of "business" he needed to discuss with me. He then proceeded to very rudely tell my mother that since I am no longer a minor it is none of her concern and she told him that he's making it her concern by showing up on her doorstep unannounced and asking to speak with her.  He hung up. Once I heard about this I called the police and gave them a statement. An officer called David Wright and left a voicemail with him saying that I had requested that he not try to contact me anymore and if he does he will be charged with harassment and stalking. He hasn't tried contacting my mother and has not responded to the officer yet so I'm assuming we scared him off. I highly encourage you all to do the same. Maybe this creep will get in trouble if enough people report him. This guy has crossed the line and I'm not going to tolerate it and neither should you.
