You don't have to except there calls that is BS.

Write them a letter that says
(1) Stop contact me.
(2) I dispute any debt and will not pay any debt.
(3) Future attempts to contact me will result in me contacting an attorney.
That should do the trick regardless of their reason for contacting you.

This is an instance where the DNC is enforcable since the Seattle Times is a legitimate company even if their marketing is misguided. This isn't Tom from Home Security or Card Services.

Ever since I got a Seattle Times subscription they call at least daily. Usually I am at work and don't answer, if I do answer they are very aggressive and rude and interrupt me as I decline their offer. I cancelled my Seattle Times subscription and gave the reason for cancelling as the solicitation calls...they still call me daily.
My number (which is a cell phone) is on the no call list, I will be filing a complaint.

Caller ID says Seattle Times, that worthless piece of rag that is far from a newspaper. Nobody buys a paper anymore these days, but they keep calling.
ljc 2012-09-21 00:46:48 Unknown
I got these calls to stop for a couple weeks. which was really nice. Now they have started up again!! Damn the Seattle Times anyway. BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

206-652-6165. It is The Seattle Times. They never leave a message. I tell them repeatedly to stop calling me but it continues, sometimes many times per day. IT IS HARASSMENT. I will never subscribe to the Seattle Times as long as I live due to this continued harassment...
PoulboPat 2012-08-02 02:56:12 Telemarketer
I am being harrassed by the Seattle Times. They have called my cell-phone 14 times in the last 60 days, sometimes calling twice a day. They never leave a message and on the few occasions I answered I told them I was not interested in subscribing and t please take me off their call list. Will this ever stop?
LMcclell 2012-06-27 23:19:42 Unknown
I also think it is the Seattle Times. They never leave a message and they have called me at LEAST once a day for the past 3 months. I spoke to them when they called from their other phone number and told them my husband and I did not want to buy the newspaper. That was 2 months ago.

I get calls from this number frequently - it is a Seattle Times rep and I have repeatedly let them know I don't want to subscribe. So far (about 4-5 calls) I've been polite. Now I'm starting to lose patience as they aren't getting the message.
Andrew M. 2012-06-14 20:32:40 Telemarketer
I wonder when they will give up. I don't answer and it goes strait to my reject list.

PLEASE QUIT CALLING MY NUMBER, I DO NOT WANT THE NEWSPAPER!!!!!

They have been calling at least two times a day for the past month. I never answer, so now they call on 206-464-2111.
Brad 2012-05-02 23:38:08 Telemarketer
they have been calling every hour on the hour in the afternoon. Don't leave a message but blow up the phone.
Jenn 2012-04-24 21:14:30 Unknown
Seattle Times has been calling ever since we dumped them and went to the Herald. I have told them that we have a different newspaper carrier now, and at first they were pleasant but now very annoying!
I have hung up on them, and then they call and hang up on me! This calling has gone on for 2 years now!
Jim 2012-03-28 23:30:28 Telemarketer
This is the Seattle Times. They are horribly aggressive with sales calls. So much so that I have asked them point blank on one of these calls if they understood that these rude tactics and aggressive behavior are likely to HURT their business, the clown hung up. Answer it and tell them their paper isn't fit to line a hamster cage and hang up. Thats what I have taken to doing. And they won't ever take your name off their lists no matter what you ask. I am sure thats not legal, but really they could care less and who is going to bother with the legal action required to hold them accountable.

206.652-6165 keeps calling my cell phone. Tell them to stop!!!

At least 8 calls a week, what good is a no call list if no one enforces it? Although I blame the Seattle Times for calling , I blame the lack of enforcement for letting them get away with it.

Numerous calls without any person or message.

Just got a call today, and I live in Oregon. Have never lived in WA with this number, and when I did live in WA back in the 90's, I wasn't a subscriber.... and like another poster mentioned, I'm also a T-Mobile customer (not prepaid though). Weird stuff...
Michael 2012-01-27 02:44:06 Telemarketer
I've told them three times now that I no longer live in the state, doesn't seem to make a difference.
It's a shame that they resort to this kind of harrassment since it actually is a very good paper and I enjoy reading it.

received a call from this number. I have blocked all telemarket callers. Why is this happening?

The Seattle Times will not stop calling even after I have YELLED at them to STOP, and my husband too! Creeps - get a life and leave me a lone!

I was frustrated as well, then found email addresses for their marketing and circulation folks on their website. Emailed them, and they were very responsive. My number has been added to their internal DNC list. Very easy; very professionally handled.

Seattle times. They are calling my cell phone over and over. They won't stop calling and telemarketing calls to cell phones are illegal.
The thing is, I am a subscriber to their digital edition on Kindle.
The other thing is that I am so annoyed, that I just cancelled my digital subscription. They won't get another dime from me as long as I live.

Call Ms. Smith in the ad department:
206 464 2111 x 7648
if no one is home there is a 24 hour emergency number to reach a person.
leave a message anyway.
She will be more than happy to help you. She may pretend like she doesnt know what you are talking about but that is just a test, she is the one. Be persistent. She likes it.
s 2011-10-14 23:40:11 Unknown
p.s. I'm filing a complaint since they call me daily at least 1x/day and i've already told them to put me on their do not call list
s 2011-10-14 23:38:52 Unknown
if you're registered on the www.donotcall.gov registry, then file a complaint. if not, sign up to stop getting these calls.
