Voice mail: This is Sheldon from TLI calling about renewal of your telephone contract. Please call me back at 206-664-9133."
No idea who TLI is. Did not call back.

It's a scam. Feel free to call back and give him an earful. If you ask him "which telephone contract, specifically" he'll admit that he's looking to put in a competitive bid.

Voice mail: "This is Sheldon from TLI calling about renewal of your Smartnet contract. Please call me back at 206-664-9133." We have no contracts with TLI, have never heard of "Smartnet". Deleted message and did not call back.

Continuant is one sleazy company. This is typical of their tactics to act like they are the renewing Company to get a person to call them back. They are in a federal lawsuit with Avaya. You want to do business with a sleazy company like continuant?

I responded to Sheldon's voicemail and was pleasantly surprised! Sheldon was more than happy to explain his message; he wanted to present a competitive bid for my SMARTnet. I am now doing business with Continuant.

If you've never called then how do you know its completely bogus or a scam?
I did go the extra mile and called Sheldon - his company offers competitive services for voice and data network support coverage.
I don't have an immediate need (under contract), but will reconnect with Sheldon as I get closer to my renewal date.

Agreed

Looks like somebody's been negative-rating all the complaints about this number (I up-voted same complaints). Wonder who... especially seeing as how "TLI" has posted in this thread.

Received voicemail from "Sheldon at TLI" giving (206) 664-9133 and saying he was calling "to renew the support contract on your phone system." Googled, then called him back. Asked which phone system he thought we needed to renew on, and he said "uh, actually we were hoping to see if you had any contracts up for renewal so we could put in a competitive bid." I informed him directly that his voicemail was misleading and unethical, that googling "Sheldon TLI" produced results, and that he was to never call our business again. Honestly, I wonder at how people can be so unethical and not be in jail.

Jason called about renewing contract. Wanted callback a 206-664-9133. Ignored it.

Same pitch, I was out, had messages from:
Sheldon one day 206-664-9133
Jason next day 206-664-9293
We don't have a Smartnet contract. They're fishing for hits.

Many communications equipment manufacturer's and maintenance service provider's have auto-renewal clauses contained in their maintenance contracts that cause a contract to renew unless action is taken to cancel. This can be a good thing as it elimnates situations where your equipment is without coverage due to a lapse. However costs to maintain equipment change with time and with your equipment so it is often wise to seek competitive bids to ensure that you have the coverage value for your current situation. SmartNet contracts do not have an auto-renewal clause. This means that unless action is taken (new purchase or renewal) a lapse in coverage can occur leaving your company at risk for downtime.

Caller (Sheldon) claims to be from TLI and wants to discuss renewal of Smartnet contract. Have had similar calls warning of auto-renewal of phone contracts. Completely bogus but I've never returned the calls to find out what the scam is.

caller reports that a telephone service plan is about to autorenew, does not give further detail nor company info, does not reference company information specific to service plan origin or equipment.
