I just received several phone calls at my job and they made several harrassing phone calls to my 77 year old mom stating that my last 4 digits of my Social Security number is involved in a suit being  filed against me.  I asked the caller "what is the name of your company?" and they hung up on me.  These people are harrassing everyday, hardworking people at their jobs and their homes for no good reason at all.  If there is a way to stop them, please initiate some kind of action before they give someone a heart attack or stroke or worst cause someone's death.

I received the same call from two different numbers same Guy I got pissed and I'm tracing his phone call to me and I'm pressing harrasment charges and he hung up the phone on me

I recieved the same call they say they will take me to court if i dont pay them I have no idea what they are talking about . I had a hard time understanding them .. I dont know how they get away with this

I have received calls from this number stating that they are with the FIB(Financial Investigation Bureau) and same thing my ssn is being held in a lawsuit, they leave threatning messages.  I have turned them over to the FBI, My local Sherriff's and Police Department, and found out today that the FIB does not exist in the United States...

I recvd a phone call from this phone threatening to take me to court for not paying a payday advance. he identified himself as being an attorney at a law office. I asked him questions and he was unable to give me answers.  i told him that i googled the number and there has been many complaints against this number and as soon as i said that he hung up the phone.

I received a call from this number also and asked them who they were. They said there is a case out against me. I told them that they are liars and that I have never taken out a payday loan in my life and that they needed to stop harrassing american citizens. When I asked if they were a legitimate company they told me that they didn't have to answer that. I told them to go F*** themselves and that I was making a complaint with the federal trade commission. The guy on the phone starts laughing at me. I told him to stop mocking people and to take his a** back to whatever hell hole of a country he crawled out of because he was a scam artists. I hung up on him and he called back asking why I hung up and that he was my friend. I told him not to call back, he is not my friend and he is harrassing me which is against the law. Don't fall for these guys. They are frauds and scammers.

I received a call from officer Jeff Carter of legal division reporting that I owe $783 in a cash advance. Didn't have a clue of what he was speaking of but insisted that if I didn't pay, I would be getting arrested by the Police Department tomorrow, 4/20/11... Tired of getting phone calls from this number.... 206-987-9293... If someone can help me, Please respond...

This has gotten worse over the past 6 months.....I agree........that these foreigners need to be arrested for impersonating an officer... I thought that was a federal offense....They don't even pronounce my name right and they always tell me that they are officers....

Received the same threatening message intended for someone else.  Same story about sheriffs and SSN numbers and emergency actions.  Sounded like the caller was in a time machine.  Google translated the message like a mad lib.

I have received calls from 206-687-9293 looking for someone i know and when i called them back to have them remove my number from the calling list the guy Chris George was very inappropriate on the phone to me! I have also received calls with people having the same accent from a 911 number. This is very disturbing they can get away with this. It is harassment and we as US citizens should not have to put up with it. I have turned in the numbers that have called me to the BBB but don't think it will do any good after reading all your comments it sounds like there is nothing we can do to stop this.

I too have been getting these calls from a jeff carter.....Says he is from FIB(Financial Investigation Bureau) and that I was being investigated for Fraud, the company he said it was from chase bank knows nothing about it...

So I did some investigating over the weekend and the FIB only exists in the UK as they wrote me a nice email saying this is a scam, I have reported it to the FBI and Sherriff's and Police department in my area.....He now says that he is going to file papers in court and when I said ok he hung up....

I was called and told I will be arrested and sumonds to court for 400.00 suit I never recieved any money and I will be sued for 10,000 dollars and ruin my social security benefits. He stated I will be made an example of . He wont answer any of your questions when asked. He can barely speak english.Beware of these guys but if you get called by them . Tell him you have called Attorney General, Police and the Better business Bureau. They have used numbers from NY,Washington , Colorado and untraceable numbers that dont show up on caller ID. BEWARE

I keep getting calls but he is telling me he is office jack parker with the FIB(Financial Investigation Bureau) and that I am being used by Chase bank, I have never dealt with Chase bank.....He said on my machine that he would send the sherriff's to my home and work to make an example out of me also.  So I called from a number he did not recgonize and asked for his badge number, he was abusvise as I would not give him my name and he finally hung up on me and I kept calling back asking him the same questions.....Please help as this is scary and he has my information.......I have been told by my local FBI and Sherriffs that this is a hoax but they wont stop calling......

I have gotten several calls also they claim I will be made an example of and if I am not paying them they will come arrest me and take me to court. Officer Mike Harris was his name he calls from this number and 845-481-8983.Along with various numbers you cant identify with caller ID. He goes on until the time has stopped on the machine and he is nasty and says all sorts of things. They need to be stopped

I too receved these calls from an Office Mike Harris he claims I owe hime 400.00 and he will make an example out of me. I have blocked some numbers but he insist on calling using numbers that you cant see through caller ID. He says he is taking me to court and I better beware he has also stated he knows my address like to scare me. Also he has numbers from Seattle Washington and Kindston Ny they need to be stopped.

this person called over and over, left messages of moaning sounds then left one of him saying he was sending the cops to my address then read the address, the ssn was correct, birthdate was not! I got a call from this company stating that they had a lawsuit that was filed against me by a company called Cash Advance Worlds in the amount of $300.00.  I immediately started questioning them and they would not answer any of the questions.  When I started asking my questions they stated that they wanted to talk to the attorney that I hired for the case.  This was to find out if a suit was actually filed against them.  i called my bank and did a transaction search for the $300.00 that went back and there is nothing.  I then went to their website which is http://cashadvanceworlds.com to talk to this company and of course the number given on the website was routed to the same people that called me.  There has to be something done because people are trying to steal and scam people out of their hard earned money and it just is not right.  If anyone has any ideas Please post the so we can help each other out to not get taken for a ride that will not be enjoyable.

We've been getting these calls.  They've stopped for awhile.  A couple of weeks ago I had a long conversation with them.  Asked them what the weather was like in San Francisco (with their 310 area code; it was snowing that day in SF), asked them how they felt about scamming people - they wouldn't get into heaven doing that.  I really just spent about 30 minutes on a Saturday morning at 7:40A my time just wasting their time.  Lying to them about everything I could think of.  I just told my son to do the same thing.  Just waste their time back and they'll stop calling.  So far so good.  What worries me is just how much info they do have and it seems to me they are looking for one or two more things in order to totally mess up my son's credit.  A pox on them!

I received the same kind of call today from Austin Phillips (heavy Indian accent) representing Jeff Carter company from number (347) 875-8418. It gave me couple of hours of stress before I actually checked all the facts. Thank you for posting this information.

This # is calling me too--now he's even acting like he's indignant when he leaves a message...like what's the problem Lisa--you need to call me back--I have an affidavit with your social security #---and that he will have an officer come to my house--scary he knows the address.  I had told him that I knew this was a scam and to never call my number again and the calls just get closer together and more persistent.

I tooo have gotten these stupid assss call..they sound like al qaeda... i told him to go *@#(! himself..how dare he threaten to take me to court..and when you want to leave a message he just say "after tone leave message"

got a call back today from the same number now the guy says his name danny jones and that jeff  carter is his associate. told them i already calle d fbi   internet crime local police and a.g. beware of these 2 names. sounds like the same person who u can't even understand. told him he was a scam he didn't know what to say . we just hung up.

keep getting calls from this number and also an emergency number sayingthat if I don't call they will send the law to my house and job to verify info and that I have some serious allegations against my name and SSN andim facing serious legal actions

The usual extortion scam has scammers using bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends. This is just a new variation of the same scam using insurance claim instead of payday loan data.
