Call Type: None of the Above

I am sure of two things regarding my call: 1) It originated at a massive call center, not even sure if it is located in Vermont, dealing with welfare benefits, which merged badly with Obamacare. This is legitimate, and in my case, an expected call because I have a messed-up health care application, and the return number is what I would expect it to be, and I did call these yahoos recently; 2) With reports on this number being all over the map, I suspect it a number that is being reported out as the identity for multiple companies. I know I recently received two other calls on my cell which showed a New York and Texas number respectively and the the originators were known to me and called from within Vermont. This is in an era where one can e-mail cell phones and have calls come in over the Internet and be transcribed as voice mail for an e-mail account and be downloadable as a MP3 file as well.  Point is, a call is no longer a straight phone call anymore, particularly for those using VoIP.

Evidence of this being legit in my case: I received e-mail titled, "New voicemail from Unknown Caller at 2:11 PM." On my cell's call log I show this phone number as a missed call at 2:11 PM. I do not receive many calls, so this call is one of the same.

Someone called from this number at 5:55 AM today. The voicemail left was unrecognizable.  Time to block this caller.

I just received six missed calls from this number and when I call it back the number is disconnected.  

I received a call from a friend that I knew was actually in Philadelphia when calling but the caller id showed this number.  It may be a dummy number that's used to route call traffic.

I got a call from this number today. Odd thing is, the call didn't show up in my GV account (Google Voice). That raised a red flag right then.

Same as above: It was a recorded voice saying that my "Mastercard debit card" (I don't have one) had been locked and invited me to press "1."

Same thing happen to me.

this number called & said my mastercard had been canceled & asked me to enter my number..... I hung up.  It was a computerized voice & when I called back the phone number was not in service.

Just got the same call.  My credit card had been locked and press 1 to reactivate.

Press 1 to reactivate a debit card from a local bank I do not have an account with. Dirtbags...  

Received the same call but they said they were with National Security and my debit card had been compromised. Hung up.  Since when does national security activate cards!!!!  How stupid do they think we are.

That's the call I just got too! I definitely didn't give them my numbers either.

So I just received a call also advising me my pre-paid debit card has been locked. Called back 206-708-2847 Seattle, Wa and voice message said that it is disconnected. I do not not use pre-paid debit cards and sure hope that my Real Credits are not jeopardized. So off I go to check my cards. With all this feed-back for many years when will government investigate and stop this scam? Hopefully this correspondence will be of assistance.

Just called me. I answered with my name, immediate hangup (good luck spelling it). probably wasn't a good idea now that I get the hunch that these are scammers. Someone of influence should probably look into this.

I got the same call today from 206-708-2847. Said my debit card (from some weird bank...not my bank) Had been locked and also to press 1 to reactivate it. I immeditely hung up because I knew my bank would NEVER use an automated message like this!!!

Just called me at almost 11:00pm.. recording said my "Bank of America debit card" has been locked and press 1 to reactivate it. I hung up because i dont use Bank of America... i called the number back and it said the number is disconnected or not in service.

They just called and an automated message said that my debit card had been locked and to press 1 to reactivate it. After I pressed 1 it said to type in my 16 digit account and I hung up on these scammers.

THIS NUMBER, FROM WASHINGTON, CALLS SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH, BUT NO ONW EVER TALKS. WHEN I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK, A RECORDING SAYS THE NUMBER HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. FOR ALL I KNOW, IT COULD BE THEIR ANSWERING MACHINE WITH THAT MESSAGE RECORDED ON IT...HEY! THAT'S A GREAT IDEA. MAYBE I ILL USE THAT MESSAGE TOO!

Received call from this number 206-708-8247 when I answered the call disconnected.
I called the number back - message, number is disconnected.

Prior to this, I received a call ID Washington DC - when I answered the man stated that I was on a recorded line and continued on asking for a donation to the Veterans....... On and On.  When I got a chance, I asked him if I was still on a recorded line - yes - I said GOOD, Now record this - LOSE MY NUMBER YOU SCAM ARTIST. Call disconnected.

Keep getting calls from different numbers in Seattle. This one sounded like a real person, a woman calling asking to speak with the owner about credit card processing. Told her I would see if they were available and placed her on hold hoping she would hang up. Sure enough the call disconnected just moments later. Only about 10 minutes before, received a call from another number in Seattle, which was a recording/robot acting as a person who hangs up when you tell them you're not the owner and ask if you can take a message.

Got this call at 7:55am Pacific Standard time November 4, 2013 and very rude! First word is Whose this? Told you called me you identify yourself first. He said Fred, whose this? I said I don't know anyone by Fred. He got upset and said what the f**ck, you should tell me who this is so I can tell you what this call is for! I said you have balls to call my # and talking to me like that and then he hung up! ---- Called the # back and it is disconnected? What in tarnation is going on?  Help!!! How is that possible that someone can call from a disconnected #?

A woman claimed to be phoning from a company named Riverbed that supposedly had been approved by our firm as a vendor.  She wanted to follow up an email allegedly sent to one of our IT managers, who was unavailable to screen the call.  She declined to leave a message, saying she'd email him again.  Dealing with cold solicitations all day, I was immediately suspicious.  Researching her number from Caller ID, 206-708-2847, led me here, so I was right.  However, Riverbed is a real tech company but with a 415 area code (San Francisco).  This is the second time in two weeks that a salesperson has used the name of an actual corporation to try to get past the gate.  That Caller ID read Arizona (480), but the firm was in Chicago (312).

Caller identified himself as Rem Franklin from Manhattan with The Consumer Referral Group.  Asked a lot of questions about medicine taken by anyone in household, if I had any hip or knee implants, or diabetic medication. Said I could get money from manufacturers.  I told him I had 3 hips and they jump whenever a thunderstorm approaches...he was ready to receive my bank info before I hung up...sounded like an Indian Call Center.  I asked if he watched the show "Outsourced"

I received a call form this number. Caller said there was a problem with my computer. I hung up. Previously I received a call that sounded very much like this person, the accent was identical.

Keep receiving calls from (206) 708-2847 according to my caller ID.   Name shown is "Washington".  If I call that number I get a recording saying that this number has been disconnected.
