someone (women)called from (206) 708-2849 claiming that I would receive $9200.00 free grant money from the United States Government. For paying my bills on time never filing bankruptcy all i had to due to claim this money was to call them back at (209)348-9617 and give they a code number which she gave me. I looked up the phone# and found this message: Complaint

I was justed called 25 minutes ago with someone claiming that I won $7000.00 grant from the United States Government.  all i had to due to clain this money was go buy a green dot money pack voucher at either a CVS or walgreens.  I had to put $280.00 on it then i call them back at (209)348-9617 and they were going to give me a MTCN #, which i would take to a western union location and get the $7000.00 in cash.  call back the number it is bogus and the guy who called me name was John Adams and he had  a very heavy middle eastern accent.

Woman with strong accent claimed she represented Windows.  I immediately hung up.  It's the same call I've received countless times, but this is the first I remember from a woman.

Put the blame where it really lay's - with the illegal callers. The DNC works otherwise as it was intended to. On another note, not everyone can get nomo, so glad it works for you. For most of us, a call blocking device is out best bet for now..

800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Just rec'd a call from this number on my cell. I am registered on the DNC list, so assuming it is a scam. I do not answer if I don't know who the caller is. They are now on my reject list.

Got a call on my Verizon/cell phone.  Recording saying this was the final notice of time to change fees for something.  "Select '1' to accept this change.  Of course, I hung up.

I was getting calls from numbers like this at least once a day.  The Do Not Call list is useless as it only keeps honest people honest.  The scammers couldn't care less about anything the FTC would do to them if they could even find them in whatever dark, basement hole they're in.  Verizon is no help, only allowing me to block up to 10 numbers at a time unless I want to pay an additional fee.  Then I saw something on the news for a free service called nomorobo.  It's a little creepy because you have to sign up and let them monitor the phone numbers of your incoming calls, but it works.  Most of these calls are blocked after one ring.  I've only had a couple get through since I signed up, one may have not been a robo dial as there was a real person there right away and the other was a DNC exempt "charity" call.  So now I no longer have to listen to the phone ring or get up and run to turn on the fax machine.  I just check the caller ID to see which number was blocked and Google it.  I have yet to have a legitimate call blocked, but the scammers are out of luck.

The caller ID for this number was Alicia Hahn and though I did not pick up, no message was left. I once lived in Seattle but after reading these comments, see this is not a phone call I want to take. Thanks.

SCAM  I got the call today live person it was a male with a strong Indian accent claimed to be with windows IT department  wanted to get all kinds of info so he could remotely login to my computer and fix the problem he said windows found. Of course nothing is wrong with my computer and I don't use windows. I have a Mac

Woman with oriental accent said she was calling from computer service regarding our computer.  I said that's odd because I don't have a computer and she said "well get one"  LOL  Scam was obvious from the beginning.

We got a call from this number today at 7:08 pm. The caller ID was WASHINGTON, and it was blocked by our call blocker. Due to numerous such calls from this area code and the fact that we don't know anyone who lives there, all calls from it are now blocked. The number is spoofed, because when I called back I heard a recording that the number "has been disconnected or is no longer in service".

I got the typical Asian representative from Windows, at which point I called him a fraud and hung up.  Apparently a large variety of the usual scams are showing the same number.

I just got a call saying ATT had given me a $500 refund and to go to website to claim it. I have Verizon...

Their pitch to us was Solar Panels.   Appears they are involved in several scams based on other comments about credit card crap.

Got call today left message, claimed she is from IRS want me call another number 202-241-2058 immediately before too late!

Got call, picked up, and no one on the other side.. :(

Got a call from 206-708-2849 June 1 at 11:11 pst. Answered immediately hoping it was information about a refund I'm trying to get.When I answered it was already playing a recorded message. Some computer lady voice saying to go to verizon51.com and log into my verizon account to receive $51 off my next bill. Then it disconnected. Yes, I have verizon. Has any non verizon customer gotten this same call?

Got a call on a Saturday from this number. Called back and it is a disconnected number. Obviously spam of some kind.

Repeated phone calls from this number

Called my cell twice today. Says Seattle, Washington. I'm in Canada, and only know one
person in Seattle and that wasn't his number so didn't answer...they left no message either time.

The exact same thing just happened to me.  I was about to pick up my phone and saw  "missed call" --there was no ring or vibration, and this number was on the screen!  (I'm in Canada)

Is not a scam. It is annoying though. It is a political robo call asking for a vote for Ken Paxton in his Texas run off race.
If I am not mistaken, political calls are not subject to the do not call laws.

I will just be happy when this race is all over. This has had some of the nastiest non stop commercials on tv to the point I would rather vote for my dog than either of these people.
