well, i received a call but no one answered, i figured i knew the person calling or my wife did since we know people in washington.  Lame

I got a call saying that I was entered into a $5,000 - $25,000 prize giveaway and I was entered because I was a preffered customer. She had my home address (which I just moved into) my full name, and information about my bank. The first girl that called me mentioned these things including the details of the magazines. I thought she just was letting me know about being a preffered customer, so I hung up. I got a second call like 3minutes later, and this person was her supervisor. She asked if the first girl was rude because it was her first time. Well, like an idiot I conversated with her and wanted to subscribe to a magazine anyway so(you get the picture). After I did all that, I checked the internet to search for the phone numbers, came up with this site and saw it being a scam. Immediately called them (because they said I could call anytime) well no one answered and the voicemail box was full. I called my bank right after that, told them what happened and they told me there was a hold. These people moves fast, my bank checked where the hold was for, and said that it was for Tennessee and that the call came from Florida, so obviously it's fraudulent because of the different state. I live in Hawaii. These calls are going all over this nation. Such innocent people being taken advantage for! I pray for financial protection for people who comes into paths with this kind of situation.

I just got a call from an over-enthusiastic person who said the same thing about getting my information from credit cards and something about a $25,000 sweepstakes (as soon as I activated my new Am Ex card, in fact).  He didn't ask for any acct. numbers, ss#, or anything like that... just my marital status, age, occupation, income, etc.  I'm a student so I said $0.  Now I'm a bit worried about identity theft, though.  Has anyone had any adverse repercussions after receiving one of these calls?

I keep getting the same calls and I am CERTAIN that these are the same people that are calling asking for cc details for att, chase, etc (seems to be different every day).

I did a search on Intellius and found that they are a T-Mobile subscriber.

Here's a little trick I'm going to try...

You can spoof phone numbers by using a service online (look for spoof phone call).

I will call that number using a spoofed number that starts with 206-778 so that it looks local, hopefully someone will answer, and then I'll commence to trying to get their info.  First I'll ask for Sean.  Of course, I'll quickly be able to find out WHO is actually making these calls.

1-206-778-4043  I got a call from this number, the lady was very nasty saying nasty Thing's. when I calle back to tell her off! the voice mail was Full and still is.

So they called me once.. and later from a different number. i called them back after reading the interesting comments others left on here... and i got the same! from "iam anasshole", he spams the LA area, funny i live vt, and that he is a dick who just likes to spam people. I have to agree with him. he is a dick. the voicemail is funny and so immature... people are so stupid. DON'T give him anyyyyy information!!!!

Same thing as above.  Ignored the call twice and they left no message.  Called the number back and got the same message everyone else got.  People are weird. Don't ever give personal information to anyone you don't know over the phone!!!

almost identical to KJ's call, very nice lady, her neice works similar to what i do, and Funny they got my info from a Visa, MC or whatever credit card company....I DONT HAVE A CARD GENIUS!!! This is all a bunch of crap, the lady said the company name was Publisher out of Seattle Wash.

Forgot to mention that I also called the number back, and you get a nice voicemail cussing you out. The person's name is apparently "Iam anasshole". Very classy scamming operation they've got running here.

A very nice and balanced sounding woman called me claiming to be from publishers, and that I was a finalist in their contest. I was entered because I was a preferred customer of either Visa, Mastercard, AMEX or some bull like that. Yeah... anyway, she then proceeded to tell me in her very nice, motherly voice that at this stage, I would get 4 magazines free for 60 months (and they could afford that because the wider circulation off-set the advertisement costs or something like that. THEN she asked me that additionally, I could pay $3.95/month for one more magazine (news, sports or entertainment), then tried to chat me up asking me what my job was, etc. She was so cute - made up a story about her niece being in the same profession at a nearby town. What are the odds? She tried to hook me in by saying that I was in the final running for some prizes - ranged from a hybrid car to $1000-$25,000 cash. Oh, and that the drawing was September something, 2009, and that I had already won (my choice between) a 3 day, 2 night cruise, OR hotel room stay somewhere. The best part was when she said that she was "new" at this, and that her supervisor was going to call me later to see if she did a good job. Currently figuring out the best way to fudge with the guy if he calls back... messing with spammers is a lot of fun. :P

They call me 5 times a day, starting at 2:30am and continuing through out the day.....How do I get them to stop!!!!!

Man called said from publishers giveaway and that my visa card entered me into a drawing. He knew my home address! Said that my credit card gave them that info. Said I won a trip or a cruise and that I could decide later and that I would get some things in the mail. Hung up with him, called back and got same voicemail as everyone else! This is crap!
