Oh, well, if Miss Clark denies being a scam, then it isn't. *sigh* Of COURSE they're a scam.

Finally answered the "unknown" caller after 3 days of ignoring it. The caller had an Indian accent. Said I was eligible for the $7849 grant because I was one of 1600 people randomly selected since I had no criminal or bankruptcy record. He wanted either a bank account or credit card information. When I asked why the "check" couldn't be sent by mail. He hung up.
Please let family and friends k

did you pay a 270 fee
| Elspeth 2013-09-17 19:49:23 Unknown |
It IS a scam - the government does NOT call people telling them they are going to get a grant. You have to actually apply for a grant to receive one.

I received a call form an unavailable number at 10:00 today at work, They asked for me by my last and qualified for a grant in the amount of $7,849. Since I have paid all my bills and taxes. I was given a verification number told to call this Miss Clark, So I called and this women she said I need to send $270 for transfer fee to have money with 25 minutes after "Western Union "or Money Gram " the money to them, is this a scam and if so why and how are they getting my information

I received a call from an "unavailable" number at 6:30 on Friday evening and was told that I qualified for a grant in the amount of $7,849. Since I have applied recently for educational grants, it didn't seem so far fetched. I was told that the verification office was closed for the evening and was given a number to call them after 9:00am on Saturday morning. The number I was given was (206)855-3228. When I called on Saturday morning, I was informed that everything was ready to go but I would have to pay a $270 transfer fee to have the grant deposited into my account. I was told that this was a refundable fee and that I would receive it back along with the grant within 25 minuted after I "Western Union" or "MoneyGram" the $270. There is NO WAY I WILL FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!! I hope noone else does either.

I received a call from this number saying I qualified for a free grant for $7489, then they asked me to pay $200 then $260 to receive the grant. This number has SCAM written all over it. Please do not be fooled.
