Just received one of these emails in response to my craigslist ad.  Happy I trusted my instinct that somehing seemed fishy about it.  Didn't use names in the response that was sent but still using the story about being recently married, going on honeymoon, will coordinate with mover.  I'm glad that this site is here to try and track down scammers like this!

maria spencer is the name that email'ed me with a bogus check i just recieved for 4,000 dollars
attempting to purchase my 500 dollar guitar off a used instrument website(i forget the name now)
i have not even gone to the bank yet to try to cash the check, i just smellls fishy
the instructions are, cash the check keep my 500 and western union the remaining 3500 to some other bogus name in illinois(her shipper) yea this is bull.........wasting my time for nothing, there needs to be a way to put a stop to this kind of crap... see they give you a large amount of money so most people will just deposit it then take watever back out, and before the checks clears (or in this case doesnt, cause its fake)
the person would have already sent the money thru western union...........what a rip

Just got an email from Rodwell concerning an antique buffet I have for sale. I immediately googled the name. Good thing I did. lol

People he is still out there and He is still doing it. Tried to get me on a recent craigslist item. This is his email to me. I responded with I only deal with cash transaction do to the high volume of scammers and offered him alternative forms of payment. He never wrote back so I googled his name out of curiosity only to find out my gut instinct was right.

OMG This PIG replied to an ad I have on Craigslist for a BED, I had a funny feeling something was up, so I googled his name and low and behold I'm now posting this.  I really need to sale this bed and don't have to to spend on stupid scum bags like this

Same deal. I was happy to get an e-mail if the item I was posting was still available. RODWELL DARYLl wanted it for his wife when they returned from their honeymoon. The offer came for the full amount and add $50 to remove it. Kinda weird request, but I removed the item from Craigslist. The check did not arrive in due time and then I was alerted by RODWELL DARYL that there was a mistake in the amount of the check for more than double the amount of the asking price. HIS instructions asked to send his mover the difference via wire once the check cleared. Getting weird and It still did not arrive, so I replied that the check may have been lost. Then came detailed instructions to wire money to a mover's address. This is NOT sounding right, so I thought to Google his name...BINGO! Scam artist. Thanks for all your heads up.
