The SSI 206-988-1984 started calling my house this past week as well, I didn't answer and they continued to call back over and over and over never leaving a message.

206-988-1984 showed up as SSI on the caller id.  Called and hung up without message when they got the answering machine.  More and more of these calls are coming even though I registered on the do not call list.
I don't ever pick up the phone anymore unless I recognize the caller id.

Call from a deep voiced person who new my last name, stated he was with King County Police (wrong, it is KC Sheriff, not police) asked how I was doing. I said great! Thank you for calling and hung up!

Whoever is calling does not speak.  After saying hello twice, they hang up.
Wonder if they are looking for a house where noone is home.
I dialed *69 to get the last number called.

I received a call from this number at 9:30 AM on June 2nd 2012.  They claim to be soliciting funds for chidren ID tags.  I questioned them about phone soliciting by the police dept. and they referred me to the web site, in hopes I would donate.  I understand the police and fire dept.s do not do phone solicitions.  They said it would be going to children of Burien wa.

They won't stop calling my home.They have call 7 times in the last 4 weeks

Called yesterday, display just showed "SSI".  Apparently from the other posts here it's telemarketers.  I put them on my blocked list.

Just to add something else NEVER NEVER EVER send any money to a P.O. Box. This should be your first clue it's a scam.

I have received 10 calls from this number and on the 10th time I answered. They are trying to get me to make a donation for lost kids?
Now for a brief history...About 3 or 4 yrs ago got a call from a similar organization and I took the bait.
When I got the donation envelope and the decal, I showed it to a King County Sheriff clerk  at the sheriffs office in Burien below the courthouse located on sw 148th st she laughed. She informed me that they are not affiliated in anyway with this organization. She says when they do any fund raising  it is announced on a public forum such as newspapers or t.v. and no cold calls to anyone without first issuing a "public notice" to accept donations from the public and she couldn't remember the last time they did anything of such.
Also she says she has seen a lot of these and they are investigating..
4+ years later still investigating? hmmm
Bottom line it's a SCAM. Was advised to get as much info and report them to the State Attorney Generals office. Hop this helps.

Got call from this number & caller ID said SSI, but it was a political call from someone saying they didn't like a candidate for office.

I have received 4 plus calls from this number.  It comes up as SSI on caller I.D.  They don't leave a message and when I answer they immediately hang up. It is very irritating as I do have my number on The National Do Not Call List.

Received call from this number around 5:30 pm on THU 11/3/11. Claimed to be from "Seattle Police"  Caller ID identified only as SSI.

Said they were police raising money for kids ID. You can hear the TV in the back ground. Fraud.

I had a missed calls from 206-988-1984  and it register SSI. Around 7 p.m. tonight this # 206-988-1984 called and i picked up the phone. He said can i talk to n....v... ( name of my husband ) i said he's not here, i said who is this, he said King County Police, i said is there any problem? He said no problem, i will call later and hang up.. I want to insist what a King County Police looking for my husband when they can easily knock on our door but he quickly hang up...I can't figure out yet how to check my caller i.d. and i was so uneasy what was that call because my husband was in Oregon, i called 911 to ask about King County Police number but 911 said it's King County Police but they can't accoutually track who called, 911 asked my husband's name and i gave it. Whoever you are SSI 206-988-1984 i won't stop calling your # to annoy you and tomorrow i am going to King County Police to report this incident for using their name.....

I've received several calls from this number, SSI.  Tonight was the first time I've actually answered the call.  The caller said that he was with the Seattle Police Dept. and they were offering police decals and seeking donations to help support child id's that are offered to families with small children for free.  The caller said that they handout these id's at Mariner's games, etc. He told me that he could send me the decal and gave me my current home address!  Not sure how they got my first name or my address since I am unlisted! I told him that I did not feel comfortable giving any donations over the phone and then hung up.

Spam call.Charity.??? "I got a call from this number tonight, SSI. I called back and no answer. Fortunately I read posts from other sites and many people are others are receiving the exact same calls. Other people have answered, and told it was from the Seattle Police Dept. or union seeking a donation. BEWARE. Please tell your elderly parents to do the same."

called at 830pm.  When I answered no one said anything and then they hung up.  When I called it back, rang continuously with no VM or answer.  caller ID said V06132028302147.  They've called before, same phone number but different called ID.  reverse directory says it is a landline in seattle.

I've gotten the same calls, they ask for my husband by his first name. How'd they get it when we are on the DO NOT CALL Registry? And when I say he's not here the woman always just hangs up. The Caller ID shows a strange run of letters/numbers: V06062017452171, then flashes the phone number after. No SSI or anyother name comes up on our Caller ID.

I've got a handheld phone set that allows me to block numbers. Guess who's going right onto the blocked list?

They called again around 6:00pm.  The caller ID showed SSI this time.  The person on the phone identified himself as "Mike with the King County Police".  I asked him whether he is really with the King County Police multiple times, then he changed his story that he is with the King County Police Union.  I then asked him whether he is really with the King County Police Union or does he work for a telemarketing company.  He avoided my question and he started his sales pitch about wanting to offer the finger print identification program and they are asking for donation.  I continued my grilling of his affiliation.  I asked for his full name and SSN so I can confirm his identify with the King County Police.  He told me that I must "bumped my head to the wall" and I must had a bad day, etc.  I told him I just want to make sure he is who he is.  He hung up the phone.

I am filing a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry.  I am also going to ping my King County Police friend for his advice on the mis-representation.  HTH.

Got a call from this number. No message left.

I've received numerous of these calls over the past couple months, but always late or while I'm out.  Sometimes they just hang up.  Last night they called at 8:44 pm and I answered ... the caller asked if I was -me- and I said "yes, who's calling?" They hung up.  When I called their number, no answer.

I just received the 3rd call from this number.  The time is now 5:39pm, Sunday.  My ID shows the call to be from SSI.

I'll contact the Do Not Call Registry too.

I got a call as well from 206-988-1984 about 5:45 last evening.  The caller ID said SSI.  They hung up when the answering machine answered the call.  I figured it was telemarketing, but was curious.

I didn't answer it. Caller ID was SSI.  They did not leave a message, so I looked here.  Gee, not a surprise.  Why doesn't the Do Not Call List stop this kind of call???

8:30pm  The phone ID said SSI. Phone No# 206-988-1984. The gentleman asked if I was Mrs X to which I replied, NO but my partner's name is Mr. X.  He said, Yeah that's who I want.  I said he was not here and asked if I could take a message.  He hung up.

Called tonight at 7:15 pm - waited through answering machine message then hung up!  Caller ID said SSI

I got a call from this number did not answer it, I called it back immediately and let ring seven times then hung up
