These people call you out of the blue, catch you off guard.
They circle like a shark finding out all they can about you ready to lunge for the kill. They want to know your financial status, if you can increase your credit card limit, how much you can spend on your card and say all the things you like to hear about making money online. They hype you up to the point you are convinced its the right thing for you to do and without time to do any due diligence, you find you are giving over your credit card number and signing a contract - between yourself and VANGUARD INSTITUTE!

Folks, unless you have money to throw away, don't let yourself get caught it this web - because after handing over your initial thousands of dollars, they still want more later on as they upsell you. Remember this:
Client has the right to request to cancel this agreement within three Company business days after the execution of this agreement.

What in the world are you talking about - disability?  spending money on line?  How did you come up with these things?

As for "not attending", that must also be what you did in spelling class.

Speaking of being vague..... Please ellaborate on how you were scammed........ Here is the truth Rebecca. YOU CAN'T BUILD A BUSINESS WITHOUT PUTTING MONEY INTO THAT BUSINESS! YOU CAN'T BUILD A BUSINESS WITHOUT PUTTING WORK IN. YOU ARE IN THE SITUATION YOU ARE IN BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOU ALONE. YOU CAN BLAME AND SLANDER OTHER PEOPLE TIL THE COWS COME HOME , AND YOUR SITUATION WILL NOT CHANGE.

It is nobody's fault but yours that you believed you could start a business without investing into it and you could be a millionaire overnight. Remember that your situation and where you are in life is a direct product of how you have spent your time up to that point! So you just keep on slandering people on forums because that is a very productive use of time.

Rebecca, i am curious to know what you are talking about when you say " unfair, unethical, immoral, and deceptive practices ."  Please ellaborate !  I would also like to know who has been designated to decide what is unfair, unethical, immoral, and deceptive?  Also, how was it that you were scammed?   I bet Vanguard is also the reason that you arent happy with your situation to the point that you are venturing into a venue that you know NOTHING about right?  Keep passing the buck and see if your life gets better

You DON'T even need their lousy little "Advertiser 360" program to get your own internet business set up!  Also, much of it is VERY "old-school".  There are much better marketing strategies and you'll find those out on your own if you go through their program.  Much of their "help" is no longer available!

How's a figure like $14,780 sound to you???  YES!!!  They are indeed a legitimate business SCAM!!!  They are deceptive liars, vague, misleading, aggressive, pushy, obnoxious, cunning...any and all names you have/can come up with for a salesperson...THEY ARE!!!  Their game is VOLUME!  They charge a LOT of money for what should be a minimum of a 2-year program and condense it into 6 months and push you through it as fast as they can so they can get the vast amount of new suckers in...YES, I was one of those SUCKERS!!!  I was so desperate, I wanted to believe them when they said they could help me out of my dire situation and be making up to $10,000 a month within 6-months.  I didn't even CARE if I was only making as little as $4,000 a month!  I just wanted to be self-sufficient!  Yet, 6 months later, I am flat broke and have a home equity loan on my house ON TOP of my mortgage, had a business I was suckered into I couldn't support any longer, had not had ONE sale over those 6 months, pushed away my family and friends to get my "business" going, worked my A** off...just to have to close it after less than 6 months!!!  You're asking if someone got ripped off???  YES!!!  Listen to me they are a SCAM!!!

The organization is VANGUARD ACADEMY (formerly VANGUARD INSTITUTE).  They've recently changed their name because of all the complaints about Vanguard INSTITUTE on the internet!  You'll find that although they're trying to hide their name...their website address (www.vanguardinstitute.net) does still reflect Vanguard Institute.  So you know that Vanguard ACADEMY and Vanguard INSTITUTE are still one in the same organization which is...YES...a SCAM!!!  Although they do purport to be a legal business...they STILL  scam people out of their money in the sense that they give you false information, they give you very vague information and they flat out withhold vital information you need to make a sound decision about your future.  If they start talking to you about your debt and credit limits on your credit cards WATCH OUT!!!

Haha I think it's funny everyone is judging a company and what they can do by 1 phone call and a post by a disgruntled employee. Everything you read on the Internet is true. There are wmd's in Iraq and giant alligators live in the sewers and Peter Nguyen is a scam artist bent on screwing over your grandparents with his curriculum that's being taught in major universities. You guys are right you can't make money online so just go back to working your job you hate and complaining about how If only you had an opportunity to do something for yourself life would be grand.

I asked Steve (someone that works for Vanguard) how they got my number. Here is how: when you clicked "you want to work at home" that puts you on a phone list for any telemarketer to be able to call you.

VANGUARD is not to be trusted.

The comments made by the poster " steve lucas " ( and also name steve lucas as the bad guy funny enough ) are actually from brandon vellandi ,  a former employee that was fired for lying on his application/resume and for having alterior motives for working there.   https://mobile.twitter.com/BrandonVellandi/tweets   Brandon is by no means a credible source of information as you can see by the info on this link   https://ocapps.occourts.org/Vision_Public/SearchCase.do#searchResults...

Mr beenthere sounds like a guy that has always blamed everyone else for his short comings. I am sure that mr beenthere will run into many more "greedy monsters" and " bad guys " on his journey to find the mythilogical and   fairytale " free business ".

Why am i not surprised that these 2 winners have enough free time to go online and try to slander someone else....

BEWARE!!!  I've had the same experience with Vanguard Institute and I can tell you that, unfortunately, they are legit.  But, don't listen to the hype they give you about how wonderful their program is and DON'T allow them to get YOU hyped up on it!  It's not so much what they tell you...it's mostly what they DON'T tell you that'll take you farther down the rabbit hole!  My story started when I came across a "different" internet website that calls themselves Rapid Fire Commissions.  After being led down THAT hole for a good hour and a half and some 1,000 dollars later, I realized it was just a bunch of BUNK and they would be the only ones getting anything out of their program - MY MONEY!!!  They are in the UK, BTW.  I backed out and immediately requested a full refund of everything, as they had a "money back guarantee" on their web builder program.  I'm disabled and was looking for something I could do by myself that wouldn't consume my life like most jobs do, but still get me off of disability.  About a week later was when I got the phone call from the pushy sales rep from Vanguard Institute (apparently, they are affiliated in some way with Rapid Fire Commissions).  He spoke EXACTLY the same way to me as he did to you.  I became excited about the concept of having my own internet business so I got sucked into all their hype!  That's not the only place they'll get your money, though...they "refer" you to another organization Daeus Financial (I'm pretty convinced they are all connected under the same LLC umbrella) which is the next place to take your money to "help" you get your own LLC business started to the tune of up to $4000.  (BEWARE of this because what they are trying to push on you is something you may NEVER need!  If you find you CAN make a go of a business on the internet (and be sure you've actually got business coming in before you set up your business entity...not before...unless you know what you're doing).  Look into ALL your business entity options rather than just the limited 2 they push on you!  It doesn't stop there, though...you get "referred" once again to another organization which is the "tax management & advisory" side of Daeus Financial.  BEWARE of these ones too...they'll try to convince you that you'll need their services to help you keep your business tax situation "compliant" to the measly tune of up to $4000, also.  They always had one option a bit better than the last so you think the best deal is to pay the most up front and pay a small monthly charge after the first year.  I, also, suggest you wait on this!  You can probably find your own accountant to do your financial dealings for MUCH less!  I've got to say that...if you do go for the highest initial payment the $19.95 monthly charge after the first year would be a good deal...IF your business lasts 10 years or longer!  But, you DON'T KNOW that up front!  There's one more "helpful representative" that will call and try to convince you that you NEED someone to manage your business credit for the "piddly sum" of $6,000!!!  I'm telling you all of this so you know ahead of time for what to watch and listen.  It all sounds nice and easy...real clear cut and you'll have your business running in no time!  When in all actuality, if you don't have prior knowledge or experience in computers/web design, SEO optimization, marketing, social media, business operations...and more...OR you have A LOT of money to pay others...OR you have A LOT of friends and/or relatives in these areas I've mentioned above, that'll be willing to work for/with you for nothing or VERY little until/unless you manage to get your business going well within the first 3 months.  Then it'll be VERY hard to make it work! There's MANY more things to learn in the program that they don't tell you about up front and you won't learn about them until it's too late!  They talk as if they can take any regular "Joe" off the street and turn them into an entrepreneur within the first 3 - 6 months.  When you get your materials, one of the first things they tell you is:  YOU NEED TO HAVE A SUPPORT SYSTEM!!!  These are the family and friends I discussed above.  If you're on your own like I am and WANT to be on your own in a little business, like I did...DON"T let them waste YOUR time or money!  They'll try to reel you in, also, by telling you that you need to have only 10-15 available hours per week...but, I can tell you from MY experience...I was on my computer from the time I got up in the morning to the time I went to bed (sometimes up to 16 hours) trying to figure out how to fix things that I had paid others to do because they didn't know what they said they did.  That's just ONE of the many issues you're likely to run into.  There'll be SO many things that creep up that will consume more time and money than you might actually have!  I was an idiot...I listened to these jokers and now am $16,000 in the hole!  I had to refinance my house to pay off the credit cards I used to pay these 3 organizations for their "help and expertise" when I was all but totally convinced I'd have buyers flocking to my website and would make enough money to pay off my debt before the bills came in!  HA!  Here I am, 6 months later and haven't gotten ONE single sale from my website!  My prices aren't that high...and I did the market analysis to find out whether I could make a profit with my product and if I could compete with others.  I'm not the lowest, nor the highest...but, to be the lowest would be to sell much of my product at a loss!  Now, because I can't afford to keep the business going (they took everything I need to keep it running)...I have to shut everything down soon and take the loss!  I'm sorry this is so long...but, I wanted to stress to you the things to look for when someone calls you out of the blue and starts trying to sell you on "an internet business of your very own".  Remember, you have a 3-day buyer's remorse period if you get caught up in this or something like it and want out...but, you'll have to be forceful with them to get your money back!  I wasn't and allowed them to con me into believing it could be done on my own.  I'm sure some people have graduated and are doing GREAT...they wouldn't give me their percentage of successes compared to the amount of failures.  Gee...I wonder why not?  But, it's definitely NOT for everybody and that's what they do is try to get EVERYBODY they can involved.  If they start talking to you about your debt and limits on your credit card(s)...WATCH OUT!!!  If you talk to them about my comment, I'm sure they'll know who I am and they'll probably try to tell you that I'm some lazy, bitter old woman that wouldn't work hard enough to make a go of it...but, think about this...What do I have to gain by telling you about it and WHO'S the one trying to talk you out of your money?  Who would you think is the deceiver?

Thanks for your post!  I, like many others here received a phone call from someone who introduced himself as Steve offering to help me to market a program that I had recently signed up for over the internet. After asking me my retirement goals and what I understood from financial independence, he asked me about my credit cards debts and what the ceiling of my cards were. Later on he transferred the call to Richard Thomas who is a fast speaking guy talking about their coaching program that has created several millionaires. He also tried to discredit other internet marketing programs, saying that most of them are scams. In my opinion these guys are the real scam artists.
