phone rang, i got a bad feeling as if the caller meant me harm (i am expecting such a call from someone i know).  i did not answer, and they did not leave a message.  the area code is Maine, i know no one there.  i am on the "do not call" list for telemarketers.

Im always getting this # on my caller ID, no one is there and always hangs up on me. I call it back and I get a fast busy signal. Very Annoying. Im also on the do not call list.

I received a called from this # (207-412-1069). It was a auto-dial and a recorded message that stated customer service wanted to lower my credit card interest rate. It did not state my name or what company. It cue to dial one if I wanted a lower rate. I hit one and a man said "Customer service may I help you". I asked what was the offer. He said "Customer service may I help you". I then said that the recorded message offered a lower rate on my credit card, but did not say from what bank. I told him I was interested in the offer, so explain away! He hung up. Ironically they choose the wrong household, my spouse and myself do not use consumer credit cards. Reading post about this # at various site, it is clear to see this organization was 'phishing' for information looking for folks silly enough to give there account # to 'customer service'. Dialing the # gave a fast busy.

I have also received that a call a couple of times, altho the caller ID was prefixed with "44"...that's the country code for United Kingdom.

But the recommendations to report it to the FCC and FTC are "spot on" as our UK friends might say.  That's really the only way they can be identified and pujished with fines.

I too get the +44 prefix before the actual number.  Comes up on my Callwave from United Kingdom.  Recorded messages about upgrading our credit card & offers.  I've never tried to call them back, but get a message almost every month.
Just reported this number to the FCC also.

In that case reporting to the FCC may well be pointless. Need to get in contact with OFCOM in the UK instead.

FYI that's a London number - 020-7412-1069 would be it's native written format (or 0207-... for a common mistyping, since it changed from 0171). Might be able to find something if you search for it.

Neither the 1-207-412-1069 nor the 011-44-20-74-121069 numbers are working numbers.  This is a scam - someone trying to get your credit card information and steal identities.  Since the numbers are invalid and do not work, there's not point reporting them to the DNC registry

Said in an automated message that the warranty on my vehilces had expired and that i needed to renew it.  It prompted me to type 1 for a customer service representative, and then 2 to disconnect. So i typed 1 to see what was going on.  Because this is the same phone number that i believe sent me fraudulent emails stating that i was a winner of some uk sweepstakes or something.  I tried to play along with them and when they asked me for my credit card information i said no.  Then they hung up.

I got a call today during my lunch.  They didn't leave a voicemail or anything, but I did recognize the country code prefix as the UK.  They are actually calling my cell, not my home.

Just got a call from the same number +44 207-412-1069  - about auto warranty. It was an automated message and when I pressed 1 to speak to customer care rep. I asked him which company is this and what this call is about. He hung up. Weird.

Same as everyone else. +44 207-412-1069 just called my cell phone. I didn't answer of course, and no message. Google linked me to this site. Interesting that this phishing phone number has been barraging all of our cells in the last week! Quite an epidemic.

I missed a call from this number, 442074121069, last night (05/13-08)...they left no message and I did not try to call back...I did a yahoo search and found all the comments here so I too am concluding this is a phishing phone scam...

I wish I could figure out how these fraudulent people keep getting my cell and home phone number calling about auto warranties and lowering my credit card interest rate. I just stop answering the phone if I do not recognize the number. This number called my cell this morning. No answer and no voicemail...
