Issue/problem: Received call from"442074560899"today at 1144 am PST. Recorded female voice identifies as "Heather". Requests answerer push "1" to be connected to representative who "may be able to significantly lower" my credit card interest rate(s) and monthly payments," and "reduce" my balance(s) owed by "thousands of dollars".
Analysis:"442074560899"is a"spoofed"#". It is generated by sophisticated comp.
software designed to thwart accurate call identification, tracing and reporting. It's numbering scheme/protocol are invalid, and do not comport
with ANY dialing protocol currently in use worldwide.
Pushing "1" will UNBLOCK answerer's caller ID Block and reroute call to"call center"(credit/identity theft operation) and provide scammers with callers Caller ID data/phone no. Also,by pushing "1"(or whichever number requested)
you have unwittingly yet involuntarily released/transmitted your ph. #
to the the scammers thus technically allowing them access, by DNC registry rules to repeatedly call you, for up to 18 mos.

Refer above:
SOLUTION: GET caller ID. DO NOT PUSH REQUESTED #/BUTTONS FOR UNKNOWN CALLERS-
EVER!!! (see above).
DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL FINANCIAL/CREDIT INFO TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU UNLESS
YOU ARE EXPECTING THE CALL AND YOU CAN POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE CALLER.
P.S.I am an identity theft protection consultant and private investigator.

Correction above:

I get calls from this number constantly. The removal does absolutly nothing, and as with others... speaking with a "rep" to be removed will end with them hanging up on you.
I believe they are involved with a variety of other numbers that have been calling me. As with the nature of these scammers/spammers, do not add yourself to their 'removal list', it's more like a 'add me to the rest of your crap list'.

Just got the call here in California. And our number is a BUSINESS number, so they're breaking the law in several ways, there.
The human I spoke with--after pressing 1--assured me that she did not call me, but that I called HER by pressing 1 after hearing Heather's automated blurb about "my account" and the "final notice" to lower my interest rate.
She said, "We are Financial Services based out of Atlanta, Georgia." I asked for more info and she said that, "Our phone number, fax number, and website address are only given out to qualifying individuals." At which point I reminded her that she wasn't dealing with an individual, but a corporation, which was one way in which her company was BREAKING THE LAW.
After repeating my request for more information three times and having her read from a script that I could only get more info by "qualifying" for her program, she hung up on me.
This is just awful. Filing multiple complaints now. Thanks for this website.

They keep changing phone numbers and if you try to call back the numbers are alway disconnected. If you ask them to take you off the list they get really nasty.

These guys keep CALLING AND CALLING. I am deaf and have one voice home phone I use for my tty. They call me over 5 times a day. I tried calling them back on the video relay service but the interpreter told me that the number was not working. Please, I wish they would stop calling!!

I wasn't home when call came in. They have called before and said they'd remove my name from their list. I called the F.C.C. at 1-888-225-5322, they said if they recieve complaints they would check this number out. I suggest people call them about this problem.

No caller ID - just the number. No message left. I'm glad to read Congress is considering making the Do Not Call List permanent, but I am disgusted they've cynically left two gaping loopholes: prior relationships and of course, political campaign calls.

I don't answer calls that don't show a name, and I usually don't answer calls from names I don't recognize. If they want to speak to me they need to leave a voice message, otherwise they're just running up their phone bill. I'm on the national do-not-call list, and I report these type callers.

Ya does the number come up like this 44-207-456-0899? That is how it comes up on my caller ID, and it says unknown name.

I have recieved calls that always state the folowing. I have tried to press 2 to be removed and they call back. I have pressed 1 and spoke to someone who has also said they would remove me. I have asked for a number to call them back and for other information about the company only to be hung up on each and every time.
"Hello. This is Heather at account services. And we're calling in reference to your current credit card account. There's no problems currently with your account. It is urgent however that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate. To as little as six point nine percent. Your eligibility expires shortly. So please consider this your final notice. Please press one now on your phone to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate. Or press two to discontinue further notices. Thank you and have a great day."
