Phone rang last night with a caller id of CNS MRK RC. Man speaking told me that my computer had some virusus and I needed to start up my computer so that he could help me as my computer was otherwise going to crash. Probably some sort of scam.
Told him to remove my name and phone # from his call list. He immediately hung up.
This is a business office and everytime I answer the phone when this number calls (which I am obligated to do as it is my job) there is no one on the other end and it just shuts off. This happens SEVERAL times a day and is disruptive to my business and coworkers.
What threw me is that my mother's late husband lived in Caribou ME and she had just passed away this year. Luckily I have Google Voice so never had to listen to "VICTORIA"
Caller ID said:
They called at 12:25am on a Friday. I called the number back a few weeks later...and an a very garbled automated message said something about "promotions department ... if you would like to have your number removed, press 1. Please allow up to 72 hours for removal from our Preferred Marketing List..."
Recorded message about health services, "Hi this is ______." Phone numbers used: 207-493-2631, 207-493-2636, daily morning and afternoon calls. I've been logging each call and each attempt to be removed from their call list. No luck, obviously. When we find out who these scumbags are, we're all going to be rich from small claims court. I would give anything to meet these people face-to-face. Where is the hivemind when you need it?
I have been getting calls from 207-493-26xx (207-493-2600, 207-493-2614, 207-493-2615, 207-493-2603, 207-493-2626) for the past few months and have ignored them (never leave a voice message). They are calling my Google voice number, which I use for questionable things, so I knew not to answer it.
I finally answered one of the calls and it was an auto recording of a fake operator lady that forwarded me to another auto recording saying I would win a free cruise if I answer a questionnaire. Press 1 to answer the questions (I waited without pressing 1 to see what would happen) and it eventually just hung up on me.
I rarely give this number out, but it ironically started happening right after I signed up for a box.net trial. box.net requires a phone number for creating an account... really who does that. I was reluctant so I gave them my google voice number. I am not saying that it is box.net, but it is odd that it started after I did this.
If you have also signed up for box.net and are receiving odd phone spam please post this in your notes!
Zippy the pinhead.
I keep a referees whistle next to my phone, when they call I listen until it gives me the opportunity to speak to a live human being, when the live human being answers I BLOW THE WHISTLE INTO MY PHONE AS LOUD AS I CAN and hang up. I figure while they are sitting there waiting to regain their hearing they can contemplate their s****y career choice.
This call shows up on my display as Caribou ME. I blocked 207-493-2613 and now they call from 207-493-2614. I blocked that one and the next number in the sequence.
That's how they find out your number works.. sadly I fell for it too
Huh when this number called me on the caller id it said Caribou ME? and it offered a cruise ship or something similar,
and i've chosen to have my number removed from the list by they called me back again,
Telemarketer: "Hi. This is Victoria. I have an important message for you... (pre-recorded ads)"
Why won't these people stop calling me? They keep trying to say I ordered a magazine subscription but I never did! I also saw several unwanted charges on my last bank statement and have called to dispute - thankfully my bank took them off but they continue calling! When I ask who they are, they refuse to give me details and last week a woman actually laughed at me on the phone when I got angry.
I DONT KNOW WHO THIS IS THEY BEEN CALLING MY HOUSE FOR WEEKS
This telephone number 207-493-2614 keeps calling me at work. I am on the do not call list. I wish for them to stop calling me and not leaving a message.
I just moved into a new apartmen and this number has called me multiple times since I have lived here. I guess that it is just comcast giving out my number to make even more money off my little phone line.
Do you know any of that to be true or is that conjecture? It does say when you call back to hit 1 to be removed from the list.
I have been getting repeated calls from this number - I've had the number blocked!
these freakin idoits...........they need to go to hell
I receive calls from this number nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Sometimes the robocall leaves a message, with "Victoria" transferring me to some survey about a cruise. I have re-registered my home number with the national DNC list and hope that this will stop soon.
My Caller ID showed "CNS MRK RCH" and the message was to take a 10 question survey to receive two boarding passes for a cruise to the Bahamas. I picked up and answered the automated survey (mostly unrelated questions), but I think my age range got me an offer for "First Life Aid".
Briefly spoke with a live operator who confirmed my name and phone number, then told me I would get a call in the next three days with the info on the cruise.
Where is law enforcement to prosecute these criminals?
And why is the phone company not blocking this scammer's phone service?
I have been removed from this list 10 times and they keep calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a Federal Government Agency Dispatch Center. Not acceptable!
i was able to call back and have my number removed. thanks for the post
Call the number back and press 1 to be placed on the "Do not call list"
so tired of this company calling! They call several times a day every day. They won't remove me from their list
They have called a few times and I do not pick up because I do not recognize the number. They do not leave a message on my voicemail which indicates that they do not want me to know why they are calling; so it can't be all that important.
I have been getting calls from Survey RC as well and just tryed calling back the number and there is a recording that asks you to press 1 if you want your number added to the do not call list. So I pressed 1 and hung up. Hopefully I will stop recieving calls.
