Leave me alone!
Rocket 2011-11-22 03:05:47 Unknown
When I answer or my machine picks up, it is like a recording calling me. I have had the diabetic question call as well, not sure if this is the same number.
anonymous 2011-11-21 15:25:25 Unknown
I answered "hello" and there was a recorded "good bye" and the call was disconnected.
Bellane 2011-11-21 14:39:44 Unknown
Repeatedly I have received calls from this number, and when I say Hello, they respond. Goodbye and hang up! Called back just now, and for 5 minutes it has been a 'busy' signal. How do I block this number????
Irritated 2011-11-21 14:23:51 Unknown
This number was on my Caller ID at 8:14 a.m. I have a husband recovering from surgery and this kind of annoyance is not appreciated. They call 3-4 times a day. I don't understand why we can't block numbers without paying for it, yet people up to no good can block for free or their business is protected by some inanane ID like MAINE.
Bob 2011-11-20 01:37:32 Unknown
scam artist are calling everyone in america. Outsource jobs to different counties now have access to peoples information. Information is being sold , get a phone that block numbers. I have over a 100 numbers from scams calling and rotate them on my block list when one stops calling I put them on the inactive list until they start calling again then back on the active list. Internet sites post your information for sale on various websites.

Dot 2011-11-19 23:40:53 Unknown
Have you gone to the Do Not Call registry website and reported them yet? They are supposed to contact them and get them to stop calling you. I reported someone once and it stopped almost immediately. Just a thought.
Ursula 2011-11-19 22:22:19 Unknown
hereis the AARP info on the Fraud being perpetrated by these people.
http://www.aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/info-07 ... scam-alert.html
Ursula 2011-11-19 22:14:36 Unknown
These people call every day , about 3-5 times a day. Some times they claim to be asking about Diabetes (the caller id says DiabeticGroup). Other times they are asking about alarm systems. A related number was marked by the AARP as being a scame trying to get your social security number and medicare informtion to attempt to steal your identity. This is likely the SAME thing. Whatever you do - DO NOT give your information to them.
What you SHOULD do -
a) report this number and their activities to your local police
b) file a complaint with the FCC - http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
c) report this number and their activities to your local phone carrier to get the number blocked
d) if you are on the DO NOT CALL list - follow these steps to register a complaint - http://usgovinfo.about.com/cs/consumer/a/callcomplaint.htm
e) post on here your results.
If enough of us take these steps then eventually these scumbags will be prosecuted and/or prevented from continuing their illicit and annoying trade.

Kari Lewis 2011-11-18 18:56:11 Unknown
They call daily from 207-493-2678, saying someone from my home filled out an online form saying someone in my home has diabetes. I tell them no, and to stop calling but they continue daily.
lennox 2011-11-18 00:57:19 Unknown

I have the same thing happening to me. I finally bought a whistle, like a gym coach would have, and every time I answered the phone I would have the whislte right there. When I heard the famliar diabetic question, i wouldn't say anything. I would simply blow on that whistle as hard as I could into the phone. The phone calls stopped after a few times of doing that. Haven't had one in 6 months.

unwanted call
pigeon3719 2011-08-31 16:55:51 Unknown
Tired of these calls, when I tell them I am on the national do not call list, they tell me it doesn't apply to them
Mike 2011-08-31 15:44:02 Unknown
Here's how I handle telemarketers and the like - a whistle. Not a run of the mill kids toy, but an Ice Hockey Referee's whistle. It costs about $10-12 and one blast into the phone with that whistle has ENSURED that whomever is on the other end of the phone will not be calling back! I always ask if they are still there and they never are...

Received a call on 8/29/11 at 8:57 p.m. from number 207-493-2678. Said his name was Michael and he wanted to sell me securities. Asked how he got my number and he said it was a random call. Asked him to take my number off his list and not to call again.

I got a call from this number twice in the last few days - a Friday and Monday. Answered first one and got the question about smoke detectors. I hung up and didn't answer the next one. This was on a mobile phone btw.
Beth 2011-08-29 20:11:44 Unknown
The man had a very heavy accent. He told me he was from Social Security. I immediately told him to take my name off his call list and not to call me back again.
JSW 2011-08-29 15:48:02 Unknown
This same thing just happened to me. I read your post, and the posts of the others above. I decided to call them back. First it was busy, then I called back immediately. There was an automated woman's voice that said something like: If you no longer wish to receive calls about special promotions, press 1." I pressed 1, and then was automatically disconnected after hearing a "thank you, goodbye." Hope this ends it.

They went from smoke detectors and home fire extinguishers on Wednesday night's call to being Social Security offering Social Security home weatherization on tonight's (Friday) call.
This really concerns me to think of all the elderly that will fall into this latest scam call.
Each time I report to the Do Not Call List, but it doesn't seem to help.
Daphne 2011-08-27 00:48:47 Prank Call
I am getting beyond annoyed. First I was getting calls from this number a couple a month, now I am getting them literally every other night.
Wednesday night was a lady with a dialect from India wanting to do a survey. Do I have a smoke detector? Do I change its batteries regularly? Do I have a home fire extinguisher? Then she said in order to finish the "survey" I "HAD" to give her my personal information. When I said I would not do that, she got emphatic that the "survey" would be "no good" with out it. When I said I am on the Do Not Call List and I am going to report her she slammed the phone down on my ear.
Tonight is Friday. I get another call from some guy with an Asian dialect. Everytime I said "Hello", he said "Yello". Which already started making me annoyed and mad. He finally gets beyond his "Yellos" and says he's calling on behalf of Social Security and wanting to sell me weatherization. Well...it's after 8p on a Friday night with a Hurricane bearing down on the east coast. Who's going to be in the Social Security Administration calling people? I got irrate and informed him that I am on the Do Not Call List and this call, too, was going to be reported before I hung up on him before he could get to his "need" for personal information.
I am so tired of these people calling trying to scam my personal information and identity. That by itself should be a crime, let alone federally criminally impersonating one of the U.S. governmental agencies.
Beware it isn't Social Security.
