I have also been receiving calls from this number.  I do not answer.  What happened to the "Do Not Call Registry"?  Guess that doesn't work any more........OR........they got a list of numbers that DON'T want to be called and call them!  It's frustrating!

Since I'm in New Jersey and the call is from Maine, I'm guessing my telephone or electric company at my second home in Maine is selling account information to people.

Just got a call from 207-493-2687.  WHO IS IT???  And what happened to the NO CALL LISTINGS?  Guess that doesn't work anymore.....or do you have to apply every month???  ARGH!

This company started to call my house like a million times. I call it telestalking! They called today alone 10 times, no exaggeration! The last time they called, I played Gd and Top's oh Yeah, for those who ever heard of them. They haven't called ever since.

I have been getting multiple calls from both 207-493-2687 and 508-475-1347. It is starting to get very annoying. I am supposed to be on the "Do not call list" but its seems as though someone sold a list to someone...

207-493-2687 calls me...leaves no message...If I pickup & say "Hello"...there is no response.

I've received multiple calls from this number (201-493-2687) as well as 856-295-5636. A quick search on the latter number yields similar responses to this thread.

My number is on the national Do Not Call list and I make sure it's updated yearly. I don't know what prompted this sudden surge in odd phone calls.

One person who had been receiving phone calls from the other number claims that their local unemployment office started selling people's contact information. I don't know how accurate this is. I was unemployed for a short period a couple of years ago so this wouldn't necessarily be relevant to me but figured I'd put it out there to see if anyone else makes a connection.

These calls are not coming from Virtel Marketing. We're actually a small little company in Pleasant Grove, UT. There are 3 full time employees. Suddenly, however, we've been inundated with calls and complaints. Someone is representing themselves as Virtel Marketing and evidently abusing their telemarketing list.

I definitely want to get to the bottom of this because it's tarnishing my company's name and causing people pain and frustration.

If anyone here is able to find out who is representing themselves as Virtel Marketing please, please, please let me know!

I just called and spoke with Virtel Marketing. Apparently, Jordan Barker isn't with the company and hasn't been for over two years. They removed his contact info from the recorded message. The person I spoke with was Mitch Weight, who seems to be the main contact there.

caller id says "friendly message" they call and hang up, 3x so far today.

Jordan Barker is Director of Business Development at Virtel Marketing, with an active voicemail message on Virtel Marketing's 1-800-818-0587 line as of today, June 15, 2011.  I left a message asking for the company's registered agent for process of service for a lawsuit to stop the harassing calls.  His linkedin profile says he is now associated with a new company, and I also left a message with the new company requesting registered agent contact information for lawsuit purposes.  There is a Jordan Parker at 4604 Park Hill Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84124-485, telephone 801-277-8704, who may or may not be the same individual.  If that number IS for the Jordan Barker from Virtel Marketing (whose linkedin profile says he specializes in "lead generation") than perhaps multiple calls from Virtel's victims will work to get the calls to stop.  I'm forwarding this information the Attorney General in my state and in Utah, and I suggest everyone else do the same.  Here is Jordan Barker's linkedin info:

I called back and got a busy signal as well.

I do not answer these calls any longer, as they said something about diabetic and other telemarketing, etc
They repeat calls on the average of ten calls per day beginning around 8:30am and it's is very annoying to be not be able to get these telemarketers to stop.They leave messages on answering machines with lots of noise in the background,, AND SOMETIMES, THEY YELL OVER THE PHONE to intimidate the party that they have called.

some woman keeps calling my fiance from this number and i keep telling her to stop and she dont want to so if i cuss her out oh well

I called back and they said to press 1 to be placed on their Do Not Call List.

These guys don't seem to give up! 2-4 calls per day for the last month which have gone unanswered until today. I answered and replied that my husband was not available, but they did not want to leave a message. I asked what it was about and she told me she was from "smartest of all .com" and that he had inquired about and education loan. I had trouble understanding her--of course, and she did not want to talk to ME with all of MY questions...he called you about going back to school? What do you want? He is applying for college? You are from where? He called you? Do you have an extension? Can you leave a message? She hung up!
In my opinion, they are a scam "education funding" company that sells ebooks and what may be a pyramid program, as well from the little bit of research that I did. They do pull up under the .com, but most pages do not exist...privacy policy is interesting though. My advice is to report them and block their number.

This is a Health Care Supply house. Not sure where they get their phone number database but they harrass us on a daily basis, sometimes up to 4 calls a day. Answer the phone when they call. Ask them for a mailing address and a phone number to call them back. They Filipino I got wouldn't give it to me. The heavily accented filipino asked me "Why do you want that?" and all he would say was Provo Utah. That really pissed me off and I went off, Yelling at this idiot and telling this numbskull that if we recived one more phone call we will report it. I'm reporting it anyway now on the National Do Not Call registry, as we told a heavily accented flip lady a month ago to stop calling. By the way, they keep calling as somehow this evil place got word that their is a Diabetic in our house. I'll be using the F word should they call again.

The number is blocked by Google Voice. But I get a record of every blocked call. They have called me 30 times in two weeks. 30 disconnected messages, and still they call.

I wonder if it is Virtel Marketing  as insinuated by another poster?

I just got 2 calls today from them! I never picked them up I let the machine get it! There was alot of noise in the back ground of people talking and then they hang up! My number is not listed and I don't give it out to anyone but friends and family and legit businesses!

I pressed the 1 as requested to remove from calling and yet they keep calling

I just got a call from 207 493 2687. They wanted to know if anyone in my household had diabetes.  I told them I think my cat is diabetic.  They said, "Thank you", and hung up

I tried calling it back to be removed from their list but it rings busy.   @^$#!  Stop calling me, @ssholes!!!!!
