Same as everyone's complaint, but a different number. I've gotten these people calling about 10 times now, on 10 different numbers. I've decided to try messing with them when they call. Today I tried hitting buttons on my phone or holding them down once the "live representative" came on the line. He told me to go have a heart attack. I have asked to be removed several times and either get hung up on immediately, or they tell me to "F*** off" and then hang up. I haven't seen a recent post on here so I thought I'd add one. I can't believe these people are still at it!

they are back at it. All these previous posts are from 2009 and earlier. I got a call last week asked to be removed and they hung up. this time I pushed 9 waited but then got another call so I attempted to hang up. Unfortunately the phone company didn't want to hang up the phone so for the next 8 minutes my phone would ring and it was still them and that annoying music. still on hold. Then it just happened that someone answered but unfortunately they didn't say anything and hung up. Call was from 6128523630 and you call it back and it says not in service. I was happy to see all these posts were from last year maybe somebody did something about them but I guess I was wrong cause they are back and calling everyone whether they have a credit card or not. I just wish I could speak with a live person and be able to trace the call long enough to. According to the CSI programs on TV it takes like 2 minutes for a trace. Well I know I can keep them on that long giving them bull***t information about myself. I have plenty of bad cards that are no longer in service.

Read somewhere that "Cardholder Services" is really American Debt Negotiators, located in Palm Bay and/or Coral Springs, Florida, telephone 1-866-969-4236"
Now the author was only guessing so no confirmation on this information.  Although its really funny to mess with them.  They might increase the frequency of calls, but they're only asking for punishment.  Eventually they leave you alone.

do not ever press 9, if you hang up and they stay on they can get all your personal info. next time screw with their heads and gently lie your self to enjoyment and have fun screwing with them .

I have recieved calls from Card Holder Service for about the last 8 months.  I have tried to hit 3, hang up, not answer the phone, talk to the staff, and talk to the manager all of these did not stop them from calling.  Sometimes they call me 1-3 times a day. When I speak to anyone they hang up on me.

I have received numerous calls to my cell phone from "cardholder's services" I too was called a "F" B____ and hung up on.  They do not like to be questioned.  I asked for a manager after 2nd call of the day and was called a B____ and hung up on again.  Really what recourse to we have?  I live in Canada - it looks like most of the above writers are in the United States.

It's a scam, possibly to get important information from you. They are not going adhere to the DNC list because I don't believe they are a company. One called me this morning, when questioned about the name of the person they were trying to reach, they had no idea, blurped a name, other than our family name and hung up. My advise is this: do not give any info, not even your name to these people. Probably looking for vulnerable elderly people who are unsuspecting.

The same as you all.  See this link http://www.sequoyahcountytimes.com/articles/2007/06/04/news/front1.txt

Unfortunately pressing the number to be removed from the list or pressing the number to speak to a live rep only confirms that they have a valid phone number and will increase the number of calls you get.  It doesn't matter if you are on the DNC list because this is a company operating illegally.  They do not care about the DNC list.  They don't care if you're on it.  In fact, they hope you are so they can verify your number is a live one.  How harrassing someone to absolute insane anger is going to get you to turn over your credit card information is beyond me, but there you go, that's the plan.

If they get your card digits, they'll charge a hefty "fee" and also go shopping with it.

They route their phones through various telephone exchanges which is why the callback numbers on caller ID ring back to disconnected numbers.  Also explains why sometimes they're from Maine, sometimes from England, sometimes from California.

So far the FTC hasn't been particularly excited about doing it's duty.  The phone company will charge you to trace the call (if they even can), and the Better Business Bureau will be less effective than the FTC.  Individual State Attornies General may end up being the ones to tag these losers.

Until then the only really good way to deal with the calls that I have found online came from a woman who used her kids party whistle.  Since she had already tried numerous times to get removed from their call list and was receiving calls 2-3 times a day, she simply started pushing the button to speak to a live person every time they called.  As soon as a breather came on the line, she hit them with an earsplitting whistle blast.  I'm thinking an air horn would be nice as well.

In any case after a couple weeks of this, they apparently decided it wasn't worth the possibility of scamming her and she went from 2-3 calls a day to 2-3 calls a month.  I figure it's better than nothing and it must feel pretty good to let that whistle rip!

I'm on my way to the store to buy a whistle.

Call received 3:42 pm PST 12/3/2007.
Said I could get better credit card rates.
I asked "Do I have a card with you?"
Male voice said, "No, we work with credit card companies to bring you this offer."
I asked "Where are you?"
He hung up.

I don't have caller ID so number unknown. On the DNC list since it started. I have received calls for the past year. Live in the state of Iowa. This week had 3 alone from Heather.  Over the past year, I've been hung up on countess times when I ask ask further details.  One time I did have a lady that gave me their address and phone number and she said she would take me off the call list-of course when calling the number it was not valid and looking up the address, there was no such street even.  I've pushed the number of the day, that they state to push if you don't want any more phone calls from them....50% of the time, the number doesn't work, the other 50% of the time I'm told I'd be taken off the list....never works.

I've called the BBB and the IOWA Attorney General, no luck. Said I could file a complaint with the DNC people.Without a valid address or phone number, doubt anything would work.

The BBB told me to follow the process in my phone book and dial the number shown in my phone book for harressing phone calls.  They advised me if I did that a few times, the phone company would get involved.  Suppose that's something to check into.  If anyone has attempted that with success, let us know!

I don't know how a nationwide scam can go on like this with no one putting a stop to it.  May someone needs to call 60 Minutes to do a story on it.

I just got a call from the same business. When I told the guy that I was on the DNC he called me a communist and several other pleasant names. When I asked him what the legal name of the business was and what state they were in I was told Hawaii, and Card Holder Services. I don't have caller ID on my home phone so I *69 and it was unknown. That is when I stumbled across this thread.

The area code belongs to Swans Island, Maine. There is no "Card Holder Services" in Swans Island, but there is a "Card Services" in Belfast Maine. No legitimate company would allow their employees to call someone a communist. Even after I told him that I honorably served in the US military he still persisted in calling me a communist. This is a scam and Maine Attorney General's office (or the like) should be investigating this. Someone in that state needs to report this to local law enforcement.

I have received many phone calls from Cardholder services and when I attempt to press 9 to be removed from the calling list - It hangs up on me.........then, on the next call, I acted like I was interested in their product and I pressed 8 to talk to a representative..........when I asked for their number, "just in case we were disconnected".........I was hung up on by the lady.  They are violating my rights as I am on the National Do Not Call Register.  Does any one out there know where / how we can report these people.  The number on my caller ID shows up as unkown and *69 does not work for that number as it is unkown.  I am ready to invest as much time as it takes to make this right and so that I will stop receiving calls from them.

Recieved call 8/25, approx 12:50 Eastern Time.  I don't have Caller ID, so no way of knowing number, but got recording offering to lower interest rates, press 9 for a person, 8 to be removed from list.  This is the latest in a series of calls over the last several months.  Pressing 8 gets a "not valid response" error.  Pressing 9 got me a male operator (in the past I've gotten female operators) that hangs up when I ask to be removed from their list.  I am on the FTC national list.  I have filed a complaint in the past, hasn't stopped the calls.

I don't know if this is the same number as I don't have caller ID, but a recorded message (female voice) tells me that I am eligible to consolidate my credit card and that I can click 9 to speak to a representative or 8 to 9 to be removed from the list.  When I hit 8 I get a "I do not recognize that response" reply - of course!  So I hit 9 and then get a representative and I ask them to put me on their no call list and then they hang up.  This has happened twice in the last 3 months.

I just received the same call as above.

1. I am registered on the National Do Not Call Registry

2. The called using a recorded message (illegal):
http://www.junkbusters.com/fcc.html
----------------
Initiate any telephone call to any residential telephone line using an artificial or prerecorded voice to deliver a message without the prior express consent of the called party, unless the call is initiated for emergency purposes or is exempted by sec. 64.1200(c).

All artificial or prerecorded telephone messages delivered by an automatic telephone dialing system shall:
During or after the message, state clearly the telephone number (other than that of the autodialer or prerecorded message player which placed the call) or address of such business, other entity, or individual.
----------------

3. I pressed 9 to speak with someone and the person asked 'Are you ready to lower your interest rates ...' and I asked 'first, what company is this?' and was immediately disconnected. Another illegal step – they MUST provide business details upon asking.

I would love to sue these jerks, as should everyone, so if anyone finds an address associated with these guys, do post it!

I have received calls from this service for several months.  Each one says, this is an URGENT CALL and your fine notice.  I've gotten 3 phone calls from them this week even.  I pressed 9 to talk to a live person this time.  The male caller answered by saying, Can I help you reduce your interest rates today?  I said, no, I'd like to be taken off of your calling list and he hung up.  I'm on the Federal no call list.  Since I've been contacted many times before and they have left messages many times before, my next approach will be to answer and get more details so I can turn these people in.    This is terrible!

I have had 5 calls, but they are blocking their caller ID completely.  It will cost Missouri residents 8.99 to issue a call trace to track the calling number down.

This recording claims to be "Card holder services" and to press "9" to speak to an agent about lower interest rates at 6.99%, etc. etc.  When I pressed 9 to inquire who they were and to stop calling, they just hang up.  Its a female at the other end both times I spoke to someone.  The first time she argued that I permitted the call because I have a credit card "with them" ... and I asked which bank, she hung up.

I've received two of these calls in the space of 2 hrs today.  I answered the first one, it's the same scam as the recent run of Florida numbers that alternate between "Credit Card Services", and the courtesy call to tell you that the warranty on your car is about to run out.
I've already reported it to the fcc, for all the good it will do. Do they really think people are going to fall for their crap????

Additionally, has anyone thought about the fact that they're "spoofing" the caller id with numbers they know are out of service??? Could be wasting everyone's time trying to track them down.  I wonder if the old "TeleZapper" I've got sitting in a drawer will still work????

I keep digging and found if you go to FCC.gov you can  report them. You will want to click on Telemarketing and then fill out Form 1088B. Make sure you keep a list of all the dates/times they have called you. You also need the name of the person, name of company, contact phone #, and address. They won't give # and address, but you can explain that on the Form. Good Luck All.
