Received a call from this number on my Google Voice (I only give my real number to people I have actually met) was left the following voicemail (which was incredibly difficult to interpret and the GV transcription proved very amusing to read):
"Good morning, this message is for (My true legal name). This is Jeff Foster from Woodson & Assoc. and the reason they're trying to get in touch with you Is because we received a legal case. A complaint has been filed to your name and the Social Security number (states my full and true SSN) And is already in the state (indistinguishable due to very heavy accent) Filing this case in the court and we will be forwarding all of this paperwork to your workplace and to your (Again indistinguishable) Department as well. So you could lose your job your credit score all benefit and your payroll. And if you get arrested (indistinguishable) (he the states my previous address followed By more indistinguishable words) Have been calling you to trying to get in touch with you regarding your legal matter. So if you really want to know about this legal case you can reach me back at our number which is 207-809-1198. Make sure to return the call before you get arrested and terminated from your workplace. And (my name) Because of this legal matter your friends family and your employer they will also face the legal consequences in the code. So before we contact them I need you to call me back at our number. Goodbye and God bless you."

I have received calls like this before on my GV from other numbers but none of them stated my SSN or address before (which was rather unsettling).

I'm no attorney but I know the laws I'm entitled to. For example a Social Security number would never be left in a message Due to security and privacy reasons. I also know that is illegal to contact friends family or work places in regards to legal matters whether they are legal lawsuits or debts owed. I'm also aware the fact that even if a lawsuit has been filed against me I would not receive a message on my voicemail and that instead I would be served (I know this because I have filed a lawsuit before)

I was actually able to get the calls to stop. I did this by calling them back. I got sent to voicemail but on the voicemail I stated that I was well aware of the laws I am entitled to and that I am not stupid And that if I were to receive any further calls I would be contacting the authorities. I never received another call after that

They called me and had my ssn# and knew where I lived and that I had a pay day loan out for $1198 and they had sent me paperwork which I never got. Also that the sheriff would be by with legal papers to give me. I told them to take me to court. I also filed a complaint with the attorney general. These people need to be stopped. He said that the money was deposited in a bank account. Which I do not have a bank account. I have tried taking out pay day loans but was always declined or did not go through with it. They did not ask for money just told me they would send the papers to a sheriff in my area.

I got a call yesterday from this number, I didn't make it in time to answer and they left a message and said I had a lawsuit matched with my soc. sec. number. I have NEVER gotten any kind of loans except student loans and I know that they wouldnt be after me for my student loans until after I graduate plus I called my student loan provider. Anyhow this guy proceeded to threaten me with taking away any govt. benefits, wages and me loosing my job and said it would be my fault if t went that far. SCAM!!!!!!!!!! Something needs to be done so someone doesn't end up being another one of their victims, the scam is acknowledged and yet there seems to be nothing done  as of yet! How are these idiots getting our soc. sec. numbers and phone numbers as well to begin with???

I received a phone call from a Mike Anderson stating that a law suit is being filed under my name

I do no know how they got my and my husbands numbers but they did and call both phones looking for my husband. They asked him his attorney name and said they were filing a civil suit against him. He told them they were frauds and to do what they had to do. They told him they would see him in court. He hung up the phone.  These people are fake as they come!

Today May 9, 2013, I received two threatening voicemail messages from this person within 3 minutes at Witson & Associates.  He claimed that a lawsuit had been filed by American Cash Advance claiming that I owed them money and that my credit card number would be useless unless I settled out of court.  He was trying to get me to send him money to stop this.  I told him that I prefer the court  method because that company hasn't loaned me a penny and they must prove it.. No communication has been done by any Pay Day loan company in fact.  Why did they file a case about me with the caller company instead of contacting me first by phone and email to get the situation squared away.  Of course no such loan exists and they can't bother me.  It appears that this company stole my credit card  identity .and tried to scam money out of me because he repeated my whole number on my voicemail.

I am not sure who these people are that keep calling me and are now calling my job. I don't know how they got my work number but this is not ok! Something needs to be done. I haven't done anything for a "Law Suit" to be filed against me. This person who called says their name is Micheal Anderson( attorney) and that I need to get in touch with them ASAP or the suit will go to court.
They are scammers and someone should do something to stop them from calling random people harassing them.

For the last 3 weeks I have been getting called by a Jeff 207-809-1198 threatning phone calls and to my work so just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has filled this information out what a relief.

I received 2 call from that guy today. He wants me to send him $500 to stop a lawsuit against me. First of all, what attorney you know that answers their own office phone. He had the wrong ss#, where do these people come from? BE CAREFUL, DO NOT SEND THEM ANYMONE $.

My guys name was Steve Hart but was not from the US. I think they want money for something that could cost us dearly. Maybe Homeland Security should know about this.

I got the same phone call they said they would put me in jail for six months if I did not pay them #300.00 on the 1st of May. I don't know how they got my SS number but they did. They do not give you any inforamation about who they have a case with or for. But just this name American Advance. payday loan they have no idea when the loan was to have been taken out.

Same here, just happened today to myself in regards to my husband. They are Ymax Communication Corp. Some scam, to send money to have your name cleared of "all charges"...They threatened my husband's job, and stated that the sherrif is aware and he will be arrested! Lol...I called them back, it was the same guy's voice on answering machine posing as an attorney, who could not speak English. I gave this information to our police dept.

Same issues as other above they have my info ssn# called my job and threating yo place me in jail. I had a similar call like this months ago from a different number and company. Once i told them i would meet them on court they stop calling. This i scary and ridiculous

This is a scam.. a typical offshore rag head company trying to scam American's and they WONDER WHY we are so damn prejudiced against them!!!
IT IS A SCAM. As soon as you ask them to validate the claim they hang up on YOU!. My fear is that they had the last 4 of my SS#.. HOW on earth did they get it? I do NOT and have NEVER had a payday loan in my life.. My highest credit card debt is $300 and I like it that way! I have NO outstanding credit debts nor have I ever inquired about a loan or payday loan. Should I get worried?

These calls have been going on incessantly for the last week.  When my husband answered this morning, he asked the guy where he was calling from. The man said "Portland" and my husband asked which state it was in.  The man answered, "I don't know."  These calls are being rerouted from somewhere else. What a scam.

I received a call from 207-809-1198 supervisor steve heave/ deved woodson & associates. stating I owe a loan from 2005 and if it is not paid right away. I will have my checks garanished and charges pressed against me from the state. I called back acting like I was an attorney and I asked for their address, he gave me 84 marginal way, portland maine 04101. when I googled it, it is intermed medical supply warehouse. I had messages left from a female but I couldn't understand her name because of her accent and the noise in the background. I am aware of the process so I knew it was a scam, but how many people did not know. They told me the only way I could make payment was through western union. They stated they sent paperwork out numerous times. I never received anything. The only thing that was alarming was that they had my name, address and ss#.

got a call from caller 2078091198 saying he was from some law firm and he was going to take out something against my ss# .I said go head I use my dead husband ss# than he ask me what was mine I gave him another # he than said I have a lawsuit against that # to it was a made up #the # he have is not my ss#.

i just got a call from this number saying they contacted nthe police dept here in elizabeth city that my soical secuirty number has been issue papers for me to go to jail for none payments i dont know who these people are never did a lone of any type with these people

I just a voice mail on my phone from this guy reading all this information which sounded like a script and he even knew my address and they said they were sending a carbon copy of the charges against me and I would lose my job. This is the second one this week. I get scared but know I don't owe anyone money except my normal bills.

Got a call and couple of messages from these people, phone #207-809-1198.  Messages said I had a lawsuit, I would be arrested, etc, etc.  I called back and was told I took a loan from American Cash, Inc and they were suing me, I asked for information and he refused to give it to me, kept asking me for my attorneys info.  He said that he was going to forward all of my info to the sheriff and they were going to come and arrest me, I said he was full of s*** and he hung up.

Just tried to call him back, same person a Steve Heart or maybe Hart answered again, I didn't say who I was but asked him to spell his last name and was talking to the dial tone.

I received 2 calls now from this phone number 207- 809- 1198 they said there was supposedly against me and when I stated to ask questions I was verbally attacked and when I tried to ask again I was threatened. They said there was a case against me and connected me to the lead attorney they said. I ask for information again and was threatened and they hung up. I called the number back three times and got a recording that said they were Wilson and Associates and represented an attorney named Micheal High (not sure how the spell High) when someone finally did answer the man on the line said his name was Micheal Davis attorney at law. I called the FCC at you can reach them at 1-888-225-5322 or online at FCC.gov to file a report. The lady there told me to register my phone numbers (home & cell) on the donotcall .gov registry and to report these people also to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) at 1-877-382-4357 and make a report with them also. Hope this helps some else.

I've been getting the same voice mail messages left on my cell phone and my work phone. They are very threatening and this is getting on my nerves!

i have received 2 calls from this number in the last hour. left messages stating his name was Andy David.  stating i needed to contact them right away.    this was a time sensitive issue.   litagations  were going on now.  he than said  that my case was based on my last 4 digits of my SS #.  than said 4 digits which were not my last 4 digits of my SS#.  so than i knew for a fact it was a scam.  they need to stop calling.
