Total scam.  A script reader from an India call center is trying to convince me that my PC is infected with a virus.  I play along for a few minutes, just to waste his time.  He goes on and on about what I have to do to fix the problem.  Finally, it's time to put the idiot out of his misery: "My computer is not infected.  It's a Mac."  [silent pause] ... click.

Are you telling us that all we have to do is replace our phone with one of them and we will still have our same phone number? Do we have to pay more to use the blocking?

Got a call from these people saying  my pc was infected and was sending the virus to there ip address and would i help them by turning my pc on Then they would  tell me how to get rid off it ! but i refused .He then said if i cant stop this i will lose my job please turn your pc on and we can sort this out! .There was noway i was going to follow there instructions or turn my pc on .He was very persitant and rang several times his accent did seem indian so now i have had there number blocked

Mark Vila ID # 11752 called tonight at 7:30 PM.  Said we had an "on-line" infection.  Wanted access to our computer to do an Off-line check up (which I am sure costs money and gives them access to your computer).  Took the info down.  Caller ID said 208-099-7526 NAME NOT FOUND.  He said to call back at 877-623-9180 at Global Tech.  This is a scam and very suspicious.  Look at the info under the 877 number.  Don't let anyone have access to your computer info.  They could not know if you have computer issues.  Microsoft would never call you unsolicited.  Block this caller!!

Called told us that our computer was infected and needed to confirm our zip code. She said you live in Califonia correct and your zip code is XXXX...I said that is correct and she hung up. The zip code was not correct so not sure if that was what they were after...

I got a call, when she/he, I couldn't tell, told me there were a lot of virus's in my area and I shouldn't get on the internet, I told her/him that I already was. She/he repeated that I shouldn't get on the internet until she/he told me where to go on the internet. I then told her/him that I didn't know who she/he was or who she/he worked for. She/he then said, well, you are Mr. Lindley aren't you? I said, and not very quietly, I AM NOT A MR. LINDLEY! and I hung up. I tried to call the number that was on my phone, but I got the message that this call cannot be dialed. So far, she/he hasn't called back.

Just got the same call from Global Tech.  The guy with the heavy accent told me that the International Security Server showed my computer was "very badly infected".  My antivirus software could not fix it, but he would guide me how to do it.

The time was around 4:45 p.m. Central Standard Time

Got the call from a male @ 9:30pm.  He asked me if I was the primary user of the computer.  I said to him "Now why would you be calling me about my computer?"  He hung up.  Had an Indian accent.  This is definitely a scam.  Hopefully you did not give info.

male and female callers persistently calling telling me to turn on computer as i had a virus and it was sending messages to their server and they would adjust my settings to sort it out .

This number called me and the went off on me when I called him a foreign mother f'er

Left a message on our machine saying "can someone answer or r u all deaf and dumb"

Guy called at 10 pm, with a heavy Indian accent saying I had malware and I need to identify it.  When I was skeptical he began yelling frantically that we need to find the people doing this and put them in jail.

Just got this call on my home - called me a liar when I told him I am actually an IT technician by trade to which I told them they were a bunch of scam artists and hung up on them

Just got a call from a man with an Indian accent , said he was from Globaltech.  telling me my computer was infected and broadcasting errors.  They knew my home address..  I did not trust him and hung up.

Got a call from this number at 9 pm Pacific time sharp.  They left no message.  If I don't know who it is and it's this late, it must be a scammer.

I recieved a call from this number tonight. I am not going to give them any information what so ever. I don't answer calls from any number I dont recognize or unavailable. They will get nothing from me. I have software on my computer for hackers.

Called today to advise of infected computer. Heavy accent from India.

Have no idea who this number belongs to.  Called at 9:15 pm on 10/20/11.  To late for sales pitches especially when phone is on no call list.

Got the same call last night at 10:30 pm,  Man with heavy accent.  Said my computer had a virus.  I asked for the call back number and he gave me 877-632-9180 which when called was not a working number.  I told him I thought it was a scam and I did nothing more but hang up.  Good thing I googled the number 208-099-7526 and I was able to see these posts.  Thanks to you all.

The same retard just called. but my caller ID said 'out of area'...Why would a Globel Tech indian give a fuc--k if i have a virus.. I feel just fine!

They called me at mid-night!! Now if that isn't the first clue something isn't right. Said my ips address had come up that my computer was infected and in 3 to 4 min he could lead me through the steps to fix it.  I told him I have very good virus protection and why was he calling me at midnight.  Oh he said this virus is imbedded deep in the computer and your virus protection won't dectect it.  I hung up, and he calls right back, by this time I get a little rude about the mid night thing, and told him my husband would check into our system and hung up.  To be honest I was quite relieved to see everyone elses post. I am thinking about contacting the local authorities.

just got this call at 845pm (pacific) ... definitely a foreigner.  told me she was calling from global tech and was calling in regards to my computer. i said, okay.  and she said that my computer was sending out messages that i had a very harmful virus.  and i said, i dont understand how you know that.  and she says, i work for microsoft, do you use microsoft. and i said yes. then she says, i kid you not, you have a virus. do you understand these simple words.

BAHAHAH.  

i said yupp.  like others have stated, then she asked if i was in front of my computer.  yes.
can you turn it on. ...... if my computer is sending you sh*t, shouldnt it already be on?
i said it was on. and she told me to click the start button.  i asked her what the end result of this conversation was going to be?  what am i doing?  she kept saying i had a virus, and needed to click start.

again, i asked where this was going to go (ie fix the problem? find the problem? what?) and thats when she hung up on me.  nice.

Got a call from this number but they left no message.

They hung up on me when I answered, but I have Family in Idaho, so thought it was maybe a cousin or aunt calling me.
I looked up the number and see that it is Hacker looking for money.

Yep scam call from India.  You will be robbed if you give any info at all.  International fraud REPORT IT.

The guy from india or were every told me i had a virus i went along with it then he hung up on me after he was trying to monitor my computer for what i do not no.

Just had a call from this number at 11:40pm - who would call at that time?  The lady, with an indian accent, said there was a virus and asked if the computer was on. I said it was always on, and I handed the phone to my husband.  She asked if he could see the Start button, and he explained that we used Ubuntu Linux and there was no Start button.  The caller hung up.

They called at 10 pm very pushy and rude
