For the past few days, I received several calls from this number. Found out that it was Prosper Learning.
Had a horrible experience with E Commerce Exchange who took me for a long ride. Lost about $300.
and cannot get it back no matter how hard I tried or who I wrote to.Had to put a Freeze on my Bank Account. In a HONEST SOCIETY this wouldn't be called for. Also had several calls from Duvera
Financial asking for money that I was supposed to pay them, all associated with ECX. That is how some folks make a living and Our Great Government won't do anything about it.
My advice is to stay away fro any At-Home Business.

The call is from Loral Langemeier's company.  The phone number is from the her call center offering expensive coaching.

I've bought several products from them at one time. I received the online 3 days to cash online ($3,500), but all details and emails were sent under a name I didn't know and not under the company brand name as the rest of emails were under.  No notice was given it would be sent under a different name. When asked about when the class was starting I was told the email name, but their customer service people were snarky about it.  They act like their email is the only one you receive.  I don't know about you, but I receive many emails over the course of the day. This was a gift I was giving to someone else. So gave them another gift instead after telling them what happened.

Also received the Asset Accelerator disc, but that was it, a disc.  The website did not exist.  The disc does not work alone. All it does is go to the website.  Honestly, they could have saved even more money and emailed it in one of those anonymous emails to me as a link, then acted exasperated I asked about it.  They would have saved a $1.50 for the box, disc cover, and disc and any shipping costs they paid from the $ I sent.

Would *I* purchase from them again, no. Would I recommend them to someone else? No. Should you answer your phone?  Not if you don't want to be sold to.  Just write the FTC with the number.  Loral Langemeier, Live Out Loud is the company.

Not answering the phone has nothing to do with self esteem.....what a stupid reply from dg.  Must work for the  company to want them to answer.

Report the number to the FTC if you are on DNC list.

Called at 8am, but left no msg.  Blocking the caller.

answer the phone, tell them to put you on do not call and then hang up the phone. its that simple. unless you enjoy the attention because you are compensating for something like poor self esteem.

If you don't want Prosper to call anymore all you gotta do is answer and say you want on the do not call list. they will put you on that list and remove your file. Simple as that. So don't sit around complaining that you want them to stop calling but aren't willing to do something about it.

I don't answer unfamiliar numbers. Why any telemarketers would be calling my cell phone is beyond me. My number is listed with the do not call. I was checking for an area code and could no find one. Nothing I hate more are chain letters,Bill collectors and telemarketers. Will be blocking this number on my phone. People who know me know they have to get in contact through a family member or close friend. Thank God for caller IDs!

I recieve several calls daily, however I do not answer unfamiliar numbers and seeing an area code that is not Canada makes me just let it ring. I too am sure it all has to do with signing up on sites but I have gotten to the point if they asking fr money or phone number forget it.

Yea, they've been calling me at least once every other day for the past couple weeks, ALWAYS after normal business hours. I'm the person who won't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number, especially if they're not decent enough to leave a voice mail and tell me what the eff is going on.

I DID purchase an online program-thingy (which is what started this evidently) but I refunded it a few days later. The 208-area number has yet to stop calling me. How do you tell them NO so that they actually listen? I'm getting tired of ignoring them...

Hah, maybe there's a function on androids/iPhones that block certain ph-numbers?

Prank Call
I never answer calls that I do not recognize and this number just happened to be one if them.  Whomever can stop this person or company from making these type of calls really needs to because this is quite annoying but truthfully they can call all they want because I do not know them and when I see the number I know not to answer!  Hope they have fun in dialing my number because I am not going to answer so have a nice day!

I forgot to say in my previous post that you can put any identified telemarketers' numbers (and anyone who's annoying) into your contacts and select an annoying ringtone for them, then when they call, you know NOT to answer it. Or if you have it, select a non-ringtone (silent). You can find those in some of the ringtone apps. That way, you're not even annoyed by the scoundrels!

Read the message above "dupedbyprosper" for the story on this company. I have an iPhone and put an app on it called Mr. Number. I never answer calls from unknown numbers until I look it up on Mr. Number. It always comes up unknown or suspected spam. I highly recommend it.

They called me up after purchasing an Internet Marketing study course online.  They said they were from the same company that I bought the course from.  They said they were looking for a few people to get some 1 on 1 mentoring.

So I told them to call me back.  The same dude called me back and gave me an initial interview.  Asked me how much money I was making, how much I would like to be making.  And also, they asked me how much I had in my bank and credit cards.....  Then he said he would call me back again, and I would be able to speak with the higher ups for another interview.  Already it was starting to sound fishy.

On the next call he told me to write down 5 things, the last thing being investment.  And here is where everything went bad.  He said he could set me up with a bank loan through the company, and I would need $600 on my end to get going.  He suggested maxing out my credit cards, and taking some from my savings to do this.  This is when I told him I wasn't interested in going through with it, because it was sounding more and more like a scam.  He proceeded to wish me luck in my en-devours, but in a way that he was telling me I would never succeed without there mentoring, and I hung up.

Anywho.  I wouldn't trust these guys

How the scam works:

Prosper obtains contracts from various vendors (Real Estate Investing, E-Commerce, Stock Market Investing, Entrepreneurship & Personal Finance)  for the right to sell their educational products. They also let the vendors know that they will be contacting buyers and present them with their own coaching program.

After you purchase the vendors information, Prosper contacts you, not as Prosper Learning, but as that vendor's success team. They then state that they are looking for a few select motivated individuals to obtain success stories. The wording is stated in such a way that it infers that the program will be free.

When you talk to them, they will constantly refer back to the vendor and implying that they will coach you on the methods you have just purchased.

If you are impressed with the vendors information, it is a simple matter of just continuing to let you know that they are an educational provider for that vendor. That infers that they will be teaching you that program.

At this point, your guard is down. The promises are made and the transaction takes place.

After agreeing to thousands of dollars and going through the so-called mentoring program, you find out that it did not even cover one-tenth of the information contained in the vendor's product that probably cost less than $100.

The coaches/mentors are merely trainers that stick to the pitiful training manual supplied to you and will not go off topic. They are only interested in how well you understood the basic information that comes from the training manual.
They will not give you any advice or review any of your work.

This type of sales tactic is fraudulent and is covered under Section 5 of the FTC Act ? "Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices". The FTC's legal branch has the authority to rescind a contract.

We will all need to file a complaint for the FTC to take action. Please pass this information on to as many websites as possible.

Call several times a day asking for someone else.  Yellow pages says it's from Prosper Learning in ID.  They teach investment and real estate.  I just want them to leave me alone.
