they left a voicemail to lower my interest rate to 6.9%. Was a recording that said I needed to press 1 to talk to a live operator. Said I could get off their list if I pressed 3 but I am going to just not answer until they give up.

These are scammers. They are using the 208, 563 and 571 area codes, These are from Idaho and Iowa area.. Block and report them!!!

I ALSO RECEIVED A PRERECORDED MESSAGE VIA ANSWERING MACHINE FROM THIS NUMBER WHEN I DID NOT PICK UP THEIR CALL, AND IT SOUNDED LIKE CARTOON VOICES, JUST AS LARS NOTED ABOVE.
I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE FTC AT:
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/phonefraud/report.shtml
AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO THE SAME. REMEMBER THE AUTO REPAIR INSURANCE SCAM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO? APPARENTLY, ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAINED TO THE FTC THAT THIS ORGANIZATION WAS SHUT DOWN AND WE DON'T HAVE THEM CALLING FIVE TIMES A DAY ON OUR CELL PHONES ANYMORE. SO, IT DOES WORK.
YOU CAN ALSO GET ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST FROM THE SAME WEBSITE.

We continue to receive a call from phone number 208 482 1102 wanting to reduce our interest amount. These calls come every two to three days. They are coming from Wilder, ID
Lars A. 2011-05-10 23:30:12 Telemarketer
Incoming call from this number at 12:19 PM. They actually left a message on answering machine, but it was a 'pre-recorded' message which was running at an accelerated speed - sounded very much like Chip n' Dale talking (from the old Disney cartoon).
I too am on the DNC list - have been for years - this is harassment pure and simple and illegal use of phone systems to constantly annoy people at our expense. Reporting these cretins to the DNC people.

Panasonic has a cordless phone that blocks these calls. One ring and that's all you hear. It's like owning a little piece of heaven. Don't have to move from your easy chair.

How can we stop calls from this number?
nancy 2011-05-07 19:08:23 Telemarketer
"There are noooo problems currently with yourrrrr account" It is urrrrrgent you contact us concerning your eligiblillllllity concerrrrning lowering your interest rates.............etc.........
Not sure who they were because the lady that called never left the company's name , but she sounded like she just downed some serious drugs!!! Quite amusing though. I thought about putting it on the internet, or maybe even sending it to Ellen for a good laugh.
Pet 2011-05-04 14:23:19 Unknown
I just recieved a phone call and they asked my if I was carrying a balance over $5000. I asked the lady what company she was working for and she said card services for Master card and Visa. I told her that she should know this information already and she hung up on me.
Mikey 2011-05-04 02:16:54 Unknown
Block the number from your phone (s) and report them !!!!
Mikey 2011-05-04 02:14:41 Unknown
These are scammers using recorded messages and automatic callers to you. The recording states that this is "Rachael" with credit card services and they want to lower your credit card interest.
Block this number from your phone and report it !! The area code is from Idaho..
James Dean 2011-05-04 02:08:59 Telemarketer
These are scammers that are using robo callers and recorded messages in order to steal your information. Today are thru the Idaho area code 208 and you can bet tomorrow it will be another area code. Report and block this number from your phones and you will stop them until they change their number and start the calling cycle all over again.

this is some rip-of company that is trying to make money on any and all. Why I ask can the State or Goverment not stop these BLANK BLANK people? They also change telephone numbers thinking you will not know. Most are from call center (used to be telemarkets)!

A recorded message of Rachel from Cardholder Services asking me to press 1 to be connected to speak to someone about lowering my interest rates... this makes the third such call (always from a different number) in the past few weeks. Aarrgh!! How can I get these calls to stop?
sherrie 2011-05-03 16:11:46 Telemarketer
Just got a call from this number. Didn't answer, as I don't answer any calls from numbers I don't recognize. Checked on whitepages.com and it just showed unpublished from Idaho. Thought maybe it was a wrong number until I did a google search and it brought me here. I just let my phone ring until my fax machine picks up. Getting really sick of these annoying calls. GET A LIFE PEOPLE and LEAVE ME ALONE! Not going to give you scammers a second of my time.
Jane 2011-04-29 22:58:46 Unknown
Got anther call from 208-482-1102 today. They won't leave a message on recorder. THEY GOT THE WHISTLE IN THE EAR. DID YOU HAVE TO SEE A DOCTOR????? They have been told not to call this number and they persist so they were warned that I do use a whistle when words don't work.
MrSgg 2011-04-27 20:27:29 Telemarketer
I am on the do not call list for national and state! they will not stop calling!!
Anyone know the company name?
Gigi 2011-04-27 19:39:42 Unknown
Same annoying message as everyone else... but all that got recorded on my voicemail was "...press 3 to discontinue these calls."
I've already reported this number to the FTC since I'm also on the DNC list. Scammers don't care, though... for every ten of us who hangs up on them, they get one who stupidly gives out their information. And that's how they stay in business.
Losers.

I just got a call from this number and turned it in to the do not call list site. This is one (of several) reasons I dig our ooma phone system. I can just go online and blacklist any numbers I don't want to hear from (works great on persistent charities, too, which fall outside of the do not call list authority). You can also choose to blacklist any numbers that a large number of other ooma owners have deemed annoying (i.e., blacklisted). This way, you never even get the first contact from them.
I am in no way affiliated with the Ooma company, btw, I just think more phone services should offer this nifty feature.
