I got a phone call with a prerecorded message that i couldnt even understand so i pushed one to hear what it was about and this man tried to get my name and car make and model and all this information.  Then my roomate said what is that guy asking you and took the phone to ask him what all this was about and he hung up. scam artists!!!!!!!!! HOW THE HELL DO THEY GET CELL PHONE NUMBERS?? ew i hate them.

I should have added that the message is for a car warranty renewal, and I'm receiving the calls on my Sprint cell phone...

Well, they have made it to Texas now!  I get the same message (from three different numbers) at least twice a day.  I think I'm going to try the Sears route and give them the bogus number...

If they don't honor the DNC list, how can we bust them??  Seriously I'm getting calls at home, on my cell phone almost EVERYDAY!!  There is got to be a way to STOP these PEOPLE!!

This was the first scam I have received on my cellphone from this number and since this happened a couple of weeks ago I keep getting calls from numbers I do not know... My advice, just dont answer a call from a # you do not know.

I would suggest that if you call Sears, that's right Sears - the 1-8004myhome number. They got your phone number from you when you either bought a Sears appliance or bought an extended warranty. Hit all the 0's until you get the nice lady from Pakistan and give her your number. She will tell you all of the appliances that you have - tell her you changed your number and give her the number above. SEARS SOLD YOUR PHONE NUMBER TO THESE WIPES better yet give them the number for the local sears appliance department - man that would be fun to watch...

Emily, as a telemarketer you should know that most of these calls are randomly dialed with a predictive dialer. In other words, cellphone companies aren't distributing their customers' phone number to auto warranty telescammers.

Since you apparently do not know this very basic information, you may want to refrain from describing other people as "idiots."

You guys are IDIOTS!!! Maybe you should be checking with your CELL-PHONE PROVIDERS to see how these companies are getting your numbers....

Rest assured, C, they HAVE moved on to other states.  I am in Colorado and have gotten this number come up on ID.

I got a call from this same number on Friday, March 28, at 10:30am, I am in Arizona. I didn't answer, but I called back and it took me directly to voice mail, the voice mail greeting said that I had reached 480-208-6378, not 208-637-8969, this is weird.

we live in Tucson (southern arizona). They left no message but used up phone minutes anyway when I had to check my voicemail.They keep waking us up on weekends and when we try to call back - no luck.our family has 5 cells and all get their annoyances and we are willing to kill them if we can find out where they live.At least one of us is serious about it now.

Well this number called my mother last night and said that they had a warrant for her arrest??? I googled the number and it is the same Patricia name? I think my mother misundestood her because she is hard of hearing, and  I bet it is for a car warranty??? What the heck are these people doing? I tried to call it and it was out of service.

it's been about two weeks now and they keep calling from different numbers. anybody else having that same problem?

based on your tips. i called 1888 number and spoke the the manager (after 2 calls and 2 hang ups - by a Kim Miller - when trying to get them to answer questions).

Sean Hunter said he was the manager of the department and he said he would pull my number off his call list.

based on the way they were answering questions, i suspect they aren't going to fulfill my request and the names they gave me are not real.
