They called and didn't leave a message

stop this number from calling me
Grace 2012-06-14 21:40:54 Unknown
This number has called every day this week, I have never answered,
FP 2012-06-14 16:22:05 Unknown
They keep calling and never actually answer, I just get a clicking noise, they dont leave messages either
Like the above, I am a Hamilton Spectator subscriber so its probably them trying to sell me on the New York Times freebie they have been including, although since they sent me a letter about that and their telemarketers dont actually want to speak to us, I wish they would stop calling several times a day
HW 2012-06-11 21:12:41 Telemarketer
If you live in the Twin Cities (MN) area, it's likely that these calls have been authorized by the Star Tribune newspaper. Other websites contain reports from folks who have actually talked to the caller and learn that they are being contacted (aka pestered) to extend or expand their subscription. This is likely why they are calling me twice a day. I will continue to NOT pick up the phone AND I will be allowing my Strib subscription expire as punishment for them allowing such annoying telemarketers to have access to me.
I'm a St. Paul resident anyway, so it's time to support the Pioneer Pamphlet, er, Pioneer Press!
HW 2012-06-11 21:05:42 Telemarketer
Along with some of those who reported above, I'm also a (Minneapolis) Star Tribune Sunday-only subscriber. AND my subscription is about to run out. So my guess it that the Strib hired Verafast to CALL me 2-3 TIMES EVERY DAY to push me to extend.expand my subscription.
As punishment for allowing such annoying telemarketing access to my contact information, I will be letting my Strib subscription expire. I'm a St. Paul resident anyway, so it's time to support the Pioneer Pamphlet, er, Pioneer Press!

Been calling 7 days a week, 1 to 2 times aday.. stop calling me not interested.
bfanciu 2012-05-24 23:09:22 Telemarketer
This is a telemarketing agency. In my case, they have been calling on behalf of the Star Tribune, which we subscribe to, selling the Wall Street Journal. The National Do Not Call Registry does not protect against companies with whom you have a current relationship from calling to market services to you. I requested that they remove me from their marketing.
Hate sales calls 2012-05-24 21:10:12 Telemarketer
Called today but I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. I do receive the Hamilton Spectator and they have included the New York Times as a free one month promotion. So it must be them trying get me to buy it.
Twofeathers 2012-05-24 14:34:57 Unknown
Called today asking me if I wanted to get The New York Times newspaper delivered with my Hamilton Spectator newspaper for only a dollar more. When I said, "No thank you." She kept asking me if I was sure. I had to tell her no thank you twice more before I finally just said goodbye and hung up. How rude!!! They better not call me back.

File a complaint online with the FCC at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints. They will ask you for the date and time of the last 4 calls. Once submitted, you will be able to print your Form 1088G - Submission Confirmation. Good luck.....let's hope this works!
Do Not Call 2012-05-22 16:45:52 Unknown
Report the caller to the FCC https://esupport.fcc.gov - especially if you are on a National or State Do Not Call List. Same with any auto text messages
Starla J 2012-05-19 16:12:12 Unknown
We have been recieving these calls also. Their mssg is "This is a service verification call. We will call you back later" They don't identify the company they are with or a call back number.
We are very picky about who we give our number out too. This all started after I filled out a contest slip at Whole Foods...so I am wondering if they give out the information.
Trish 2012-05-14 15:02:20 Unknown
They also just called me and after reading this is now makes sense. I recently ordered the Sunday edition of Star Tribune and the local Star Trib has been calling me from the Minneapolis number, but I never answered so I'm guessing they've switched gears to this other company to try to reach me that way. Hehe, I don't think so. I hung up :)
Mike 2012-05-12 17:22:33 Telemarketer
They called a few times in the past few days. They were trying to sell me more subscription days for our local newspaper as we only get it on Sundays. I told her that all we want is the Sunday paper as we don't have time to read it, please put us on their do not call list, thank you, and quickly hung up. That's how I deal with all telemarketers before they can go into their long sales pitch. I'm not gonna waste my time, or theirs. Hopefully they won't call back.
Sue 2012-05-11 22:31:46 Unknown
They left a message "Hi there. Good bye". Weird
Roni 2012-05-11 15:31:11 Telemarketer
I got the call said they were from StarTribune asking me to expand my subscription from Sundays.
maria 2012-05-10 18:54:12 Unknown
They have been calling me on my cell and leaving me text messages.
So I called the number back and requested my number to be removed from their calling list.

This company is doing research for Microsoft.
Chances are you received an illegal copy of Microsoft Software and that company has been hired to find out more information about the product. They're able to obtain your phone number using information that you filled out when registering your company and the product.
Wendy 2012-05-07 22:03:48 Unknown
As soon as I answered the phone with a hello.....I heard this on the other end of the line, "This is a verification for Verafast" and they hung up!!!

we do have student attending college in the area where the phone number is comming from...could be a sales call?

WHAT will it take to put a stop to these clowns? We do not subscribe to any newspapers, yet these jerks call every day, morn and night, leaving a brainless "verification" message on our phone machine.
YES, THIS IS HARASSMENT! Maybe it's time to start to hound those jerks a bit so they can know how it feels:
Verafast Corp
20545 Center Ridge Rd
Rocky River OH 44116
phone 440 331-0250
800 327-8463 (wouldn't recommend calling this one)
FAX # 440 331-2701 <--- Maybe try this one?? (would love to learn their faxes burn out from overuse by angry callers!)
THIS KIND OF HARASSMENT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! WHEN WILL AMERICANS HAVE ANY RIGHTS???? INSTEAD OF CONGRESS LISTENING TO WELL-HEELED LOBBYISTS???
FED UP WITH PHONE HARASSMENT 2012-05-02 08:40:06 Telemarketer
These jerks keep calling us and tying up our phone machine with a computerized nonsense message about "a verification call, we'll call back..." They call at all hours.
We are sick of this baloney and are notifying the FCC Unwanted Telemarketer Persistent Caller Complaint Line at 1-888-225-5322. Suggest everyone bothered by these jerks do the same. The FCC will FINE these annoying blockheads if they persist in calling after they've been turned in to the above Complaint Line. (At least that is what the Phone Company told us... Of course, who can trust AT&T?! or the FCC, for that matter, nowadays?)
Anyway... Please report these jerks to FCC and see if we can get some relief from their harassment.
BTW, calling the above number will force you to listen to a very long recorded message and you will be lucky if you actually get to speak to a live human to register your complaint. But it's worth a try...

Received a call on my cell phone. At first the line was dead then an automated voice said they were calling to verify my AT&T number. They gave a number I didn't recognize plus I have no AT&T service of any type. Just another scam.

It's a call centre, hired by companies such as newspapers. The lady who called me had a distinct southern accent, was very polite and asked if I wanted to continue with a free trial newspaper subscription that is expiring.
I declined and asked that I be removed from the calling list and, I believe she did just that.
Kirt 2012-04-21 16:02:42 Unknown
Same as the rest except these cowards are calling my cell phone, Hell is surely full of telemarketers.
Melanie 2012-04-17 21:51:34 Unknown
called, said something and hung up. How do I stop this?
Mary H. 2012-04-14 02:17:08 Unknown
I've been receiving calls from this number, off and on, for a long while. The caller ID says "Alen D. Coeur", and it appears from the previous posts here that these calls are from the Verafast Company. Verafast, please do not call our home anymore. It's disturbing to have phone calls early in the morning, and in the evening when the phone calls are from someone you don't know or want to do business with.
