I also received a call 4 times so far today. Got a recorded message saying it was a "service check" but that was after there was a man saying "hello" on my voicemail. He must have thought someone picked up the phone

Have received a call 8 calls from this phone # (1 per day) and no voice message is left.  I am also on the Do Not Call list and it's very frustrating to continue to get these calls.

I get the calls about once a day, but, being a former telemarketer, I just abuse them.  "May i speak with x?"  Why?  "because I have a personal matter for them"  you can talk to me  "are you X?"  before i answer that, tell me what this call is about?-----------------then they get just pissy, lmao.  Keep asking them questions, just giving them enough info to think they may get the contact, and then I give them directions to hell, and hang up on them.  We go thru this almost daily.  It's a great stress-reliever for me, as I just quit smoking 3 weeks ago.

Called twice today, just after 9 and at 530.  Comes up as "Lieberman Research" and a call back just goes to a recorded message offering to remove me from their list.  I didn't want to be on their list and am annoyed with their calls.  Picking up just gets dead air and then a recording.

I've answered these people for 5 nights in a row, and asked them not to call me. The next night they call again. They're a research group, and surveyors are not required to abide by the Do Not Call registration, I've found out. So here's what I'm going to do if they call again:

I'm going to answer their questions with the stupidest, most off-the-wall answers I can come up with. I'd suggest others start doing the same - after all, what do they think, they're just going to eventually wear us down and we'll happily answer their questions? I can't believe how some people make their money...

Get the call about once a day.  Usually I get the "this is a service verification, we'll call back" message; but the last one mentioned "Verifax" and advised me to call back the number (I didn't).

I ignore calls from numbers I do not recognize or are not identified. This was one of them.
Today was the third or fourth call this week. Caller ID showed Lieberman Research. It was computerized and a recorded message was left stating, [This is a service verification. We will call you back later. Thank you.] I called the number back on my cell and it was answered with a recorded voice stating "customer service" but not identifying the business the call was coming from or being represented. I opted to key in my phone number for them to remove it from their call list supposedly in 2-3 business days. We are on the national Do Not Call list, so my guess is this is coming from someplace we have done business at such as car repair business or cable company. Either way, I don't want them calling.

Oh, sorry, I just read the post above mine from Ron who says it was the LA Times.  I have actally answered this call before and told them no thanks, but I guess they're persisting.  Weird that they hire harrassers from Idaho!

I have gotten at least 5 calls from this number in the last few days.  I don't answer and they don't leave a message.  I finally Googled the area code and then the number itself and found this board.  This makes me really angry.  Why doesn't the "Do Not Call List" work in this instance??

So after 2 weeks of not answering this #, I answered. LA TIMES wanted to sign me back up. I said No Thanks and hung up. My mystery solved.

They FINALLY left a message that is helpful:  It's the Washington Examiner (free DC area newspaper) and they're calling to see if you want to keep the newspaper delivery or discontinue it.

They leave a toll free number you can call back to keep or stop the delivery.  (You don't even get a marketing pitch when you call back, just a press 1 to keep it, press 2 to stop it.)

Why they couldn't have left this message the first dozen times they called is beyond me.

I hate telemarketers they are very annoying. This is probably one out of the fifteen advertisment calls i get a day. I wish i could have a prerecorded answering machine that tells them to get a real job and then swear at them and hang up.

I get calls at least twice daily from them. I just answer and hang up instantly (I don't say anything) so I don't have to listen to it ring. I guess they don't check the "do not call registry".

They've been calling every night this week at 8:30 just after my infant daughter falls asleep.

Caller ID says "Liberman Research" but when I finally picked it up (after the usual long pause), a woman on the other end started pitching a subscription to the "Washington Examiner" newspaper. I told them never to call again. We'll see what happens.

My brother just pointed out to me that if it is them, to remember the old proverb "stitches get stiches"...  Hope I'm not blowing up their spot if it is them.  I don't want stitches..  moreover I dont want the pain that comes with a wound requiring stitches.

Hey you didnt hear it from me...  I'm like homer simpson in that episode where he called himself Mister X and ends up discovering an underground secret society.  I should have signed up here as Mister X and used another email XP

Longshot here..  but i searched google for white supremacy, telemarketing..  articles mentioning both.  Tons of results but im not pickin thru that hay staff for a needle of relevant info.

Chances are it isnt them..  but who really knows.  How do we find out who owns a number or operates from it?  Is that public info?

Most people just want the calls to start and dont really care who they come from right?  Im just a little curious now cuz its kinda coincidental to have shady business coming from an area that hosts people who may have to do some shady dealings for whatever reasons.
