Contact your cell carrier and report the number as a nuisance number and request it be blocked. Inquire if they offer a service to black list numbers so they can not call or message you at all, Verizon lets you block up to 5 for free.
Also inquire if you can forward the text to 7726 aka SPAM:

If you have a smart phone, there are many anti-spam apps. Check your phone's app store.

I got a text from this number that stated , "hi its mary message me on copydate.com i have pics there by the way"  This is an obvious scam looking to download virii software or to obtain personal information for illegal means such as identify thieft.

Received text last night : mary asking to have her pictures looked at on copydate.com

My wife and I both received the text last night.  WTF ATT.
