this is a phone call from an automated message that starts with "This is account services..."
Other numbers they have used include:
512-501-3637 in Austin, TX
925-524-3099 in Clayton, CA

It is a scam which tries to lure you in to giving them personal info like account numbers in order to perputrate an ID theft.  Their lure is a totally false come-on about lowering your interest on your credit cards by authorization of the US Govt - NOT!

I have submitted an on-line report to the FCC, but they do not investigate individual complaints.

Please, if you have gotten an automated call from these people, submit a complaint the FCC.  If they get enough complaints, hopefully, they will investigate!

I don't know how else to stop these people.

Yesterday, I got a call from 401-424-9150 about lowering credit card debt; I pressed 1 to get a rep, got one, and instructed him to remove my number from the calling list.  Two minutes later, a got a call from 209-216-4138; it was the same guy, the rep with whom I had just spoken, wanting to talk to me about my salvation.  He had the typical arguments from design (if I cannot understand how something happens, then it must happen by a supernatural agency) and one novel offering.  According to him, "contemporary newspapers in Rome reported the rising of the dead following the crucifixion."  I asked him which newspapers, and he said "look it up on line."  I asked him to name one such newspaper, and he repeated the demand that I do his homework.  Was it L'Osservatore Romano? I asked, and he hung up.

Even scam companies do not deserve their employees practicing other scams on company time.

They called several times in a row promising to lower credit card debt. They said it was Elite Planning Group and their toll free number was 888-355-2702. I talked to Michael at ext. 1008.

If they called you back that quickly they may have forgotten to spoof the number.  This number may lead law enforcement to the ID theft ring.  But they probably will close shop and move down the street before anyone actually does catch up to them.

Got called twice from this number after screaming fu at the first person who called from this number (512)501-3637  This (209) 216-4138 immediately called back saying that I had been "disconnected" during the call.  Ya think it might be because after I yelled I hung up?  I am on the do not call list and credit services is a rip off.  No way to catch them as they always call from a disconnected number from all over the US.
