I received the same text this morning at 5am from "April". The number the text came in from was (623) 243-1114. I did not respond, but rather google'd the number and the email. Of course, nothing (valid) came up.

Added the number to my black list right away. Don't fall for this type of scam. I will be sharing with all of my MK friends.

The exact same thing happened to me. Exact some email except now the modeling agency is in Atlanta. I almost fell for this. Thank goodness for this site.

Oh my god. This is happening to me. I was suspision and i did not cash the check. I will be returning it tomorrow pronto! Should I include all the emails when I turn it in? Did you stop emailing her or did you confront her?

My coworker's daughter JUST had this happen to her today (a week in progress) 06/10/14. She referred to herself as aweiss and gave the phone number of 404-490-2503. Her email address is aweiss9@outlook.com. It's crazy to see ALL the posts. This person doesn't give up! They even use the same ORDER for Mary Kay. We read another email scam to her and she said "Wait...what color lipstick did she order......that's the same order she sent me!" This person/persons are UNCREATIVE and ITS GOING TO STOP WORKING the more we post about it. When she gets the cashiers check, she's taking it to the local police department. SHAME ON YOU whomever you are/you all are. Your time will come.

I too recieved the email and text msgs from her.. and was leary of it all. i am glad i did not order her stuff and there is a 2200.00 cashiers check supposedly on its way to me now.. the tracking number and everything was real but too bad the cashiers check is going to be fake..

She's still at it.... received this text message on Friday, "Hi, I'm April. I'd like to order some Mary Kay products. I'd appreciate it if you could please email me at aweiss9@outlook.com for details of the order. Thanks". After responding, I got this long email about her working with a photographer. Yeah, not too many people would come to Iowa for a professional photo shoot unless it's for the country look, haha! I wrote up her order and said that I don't accept cashier checks. Waiting to hear her response. What a complete waste of my time, they need to catch this person!!! Make sure to report her!

I just received the same MK order. I'm glad I did my research first and found this information before going any further.

I am a Mary Kay consultant, and I have received the same message from a April Weiss.
The only difference is she has a new phone number 469-249-1098 and 404-913-5998.

I too sell AVON products and have gotten the exact emails (about her working on a movie set in Alaska) and text from her only now she is using (917) 719-1534 a NY number. and the name April Weiss. I had agreed to do business with her until she sent me an email saying there had been a mistake with my payment and her art director by mistake were mailing me her flight reimbursement, and if i could send her the balance via western union. so i decided to look her up and this is were i am now. i plan to let the the ups post office now about it and provide them with the emails and text she sent me. i hope no one falls for her scams. some of us are just trying to make an honest living

She is using the name Dorothy Youso also.

I am an Avon rep and had a "Contact Me" request, where new customers can go on the Avon website, find a rep in their area, and request products.  A couple years ago I was almost scammed by someone wanting me to order them products for a film shoot in Alaska, but I would meet someone in my town to deliver them.  Nope, that ain't gonna happen.  I tried to get her to order on the website, which offers free shipping on orders over $30, but she refused.  I got a check in the mail for $1700, which was way over the amount of items she wanted to order, and the post office intercepted it because they thought it was suspicious.  The check was from someone other than the person trying to order products, in another state, so I turned it over to the Postmaster.  About a week later I got another check in the mail for the same amount, and did the same thing, except this time I had some emails to include.  I'm glad I never ordered the products, and I will not respond to Ms. Weiss either.  I'm glad we have this forum to help each other out so we don't get taken by these scam artists!

Yes i have as well. Very much a scam!!!! April Weiss is not a real person! I see she has been around for a while with this same scam.... Sad.... I told her to resend the check in the correct amount and since then no response.. OF COURSE!

I am glad you all were leary about this.  I on the other hand cashed the check and ordered the product.  Now I am out 1745.30.  If anyone has any info to help me nail these people, please let me know.  Thanks

I received this same email from April Weiss and is verbatim what everyone else has said.  I am a Mary Kay consultant.  Guess she's moved on from Avon to Mary Kay...

I too have received the same e-mail.  I will not be responding to this April Weiss.

She told me her name was April Weiss and I work with Mary Kay. I've seen similar things on Craigslist as something to look out for: using a cashier's check and talking about "your item." In this case she gave me a list of items, but constantly said "your city." I have customers all over the country and didn't want her to come to "my city" on a shoot only to find out I wasn't physically in that region. She also wouldn't give me the name of the new modeling agency she supposedly worked for.

I also was contacted by this phone number although it was originally through a text. The name that was used was April Weiss.
She requested that I email her, which I did. She then emailed back with an order for Mary Kay products. What got me was when she said she would pay in advance by cashier check sent to my address. I was already leary and that did it for me and I googled the phone number and found the rest of you.

I guess I'm the next one. I received a email from her that she was coming in town next month and they were doing a photo shoot. Her name is April Weiss. I first looked up her name and came up with a lady that is in the  cosmetic field. so I thought maybe she is legit.  Then I put in the phone number and came across this forum. So now I know not to go any further with the email. Thank you all for posting.

I received the same cell phone text, email and order from "April Weiss".  I was suspicious right away because of the promise of a cashier's check and sense of urgency, and wrote back to ask her when she'll be in "my town" (generic location, also a red flag) and if it would be easier for me to drop off the products.  We'll see if she even responds or if she'll move on to the next mark.

Yep I got one too for a Mary Kay order! I figured it was a scam. Asked her how she came to contact me and I have not heard back from her. Also asked for her Agency's name.

I received a text from "Mrs. Williams" at 631-619-8061 asking me to email her at williamsusanme@gmail.com because she wants to order Mary Kay products for her daughter's wedding. I googled the phone number and got nothing, but googling the email address brought me here. Thanks for the warning!

She is now scamming Mary Kay Beauty Consultants under the name April Weiss.
