Why is this allowed????  They called all the time and when i pick up the phone no one is there.  I've spoken to my phone company to put a block on the number.

been receiving calls on my cell phone from this number almost everyday 2 or 3 times. Nobody speaks. I called back yesterday from my house phone and a guy answer. He said he is not calling anybody. i asked him to stop calling or i'll report him. today they called again my cell phone. this is so annoying.

To stop them from calling. Call the number back, you will get an recording that thanks you for calling back and asking if you want to be taken off their "Preferred Marketing" list. You will get a few choices, click # 1 and you'll get a confirmation that you'll be removed from their list within 72 hours. Hope this helps.

Engage them. Keep them on the line.
Tell them you are very interested in what they are offering
Make up false iformation to give them: This works
Name/Address/Telephone Number/Anything else they ask for.
This approach drives them crazy as they cannot go on to someone else.
If enough people do this, they might get the message and go way

I didn't pickup, and Savings appeared on my caller ID - they must have nothing better to do then be a proverbial pia.

Put them on the Do Not Call list - hope this works.

They call and claim you're a customer of Con Edison, and that they can offer you a lower utility bill.  I pressed the prompt to talk to someone and said that I was on the no call list, and they hung up on me.

Unknown Name with the number 209-220-1941 showed on my caller id. I picked up the phone and there was a recording about reducing my "Con Edison" bill. I hung up as soon as I heard that. I do not pay for gas or electric--It is covered by my building so I do not receive a bill. HOW ARE THESE SCAM CALLERS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE TO EXIST? This is the second call that I have received from this number.

call received at 7:30pm est. caller id stating Fresno, CA  picked up the phone no one responded.  Hung up.

They called again yesterday, Sept. 24th.  This time caller id showed "savings". I see I posted here on Sept. 19.  Vonage doesn't block calls, so guess now I have to buy a Panasonic phone with call block, as the DNC doesn't do anything.

They called a few minutes ago.  Caller ID just showed "Unknown". I have Vonage, and these calls are supposed to be blocked, but they aren't. This time I picked up, with my police whistle ready to blast them. But there was just dead air on the other end.  The DNC Registry doesn't do anything. I've noticed an increase the past 2 weeks of these repeat scam artists - lower your interest, lower your electricy bills, blah blah.  
They are reported to my DNC list, if I do answer and get a live person, I opt out, but since none of this does any good, I'm relying on using my police whistle to deafen them for at least a little while.

Yes, the call from (209) 220-1941 in Fresno arrived around noon, and I never answer out-of-state calls, although I was expecting to be Skyped from San Francisco today.  

In less than 15 minutes, I got a call from Brooklyn, NY, (718) 906-8734. In Manhattan, Brooklyn is considered lower than out-of-state, but by Googling I find it's allegedly from Con Ed about discount rates.  Uh, the city-wide-electricity provider gives no discounts.

Folks, we're on a sucker list.  

Give up on telephoning.  Instead, Skype or buy carrier pigeons.  Whether you're one of the Presidential candidate's 43% or are one of the 57%, everyone really thinks we're a sucker.  And even here in Greenwich Village, that's not always a compliment.

Caller ID said savings - when I returned the call; same voice said to press 1 to be placed on their do not call list and not to receive any more of their "special promotions".
This company has called with the same nonsense on multiple numbers. IMHO, another cockroach company.

Received a call from 209-220-1941, marked "Fresno, CA" on caller ID at 4:30 pm, Friday. When you answer the line is silent. I noticed that others have connected this to the "lower your electric" calls. We've been flooded with them for the last three weeks so this would not surprise me.

Have gotten the electric phone message and pressed 3 for do not call again.Well that did not work so far it's called about 8 times.And also been getting the call from this 209# WITH NO ONE ANSWERING AND NO MESSAGE! I At work,at home every day they call.This is harassment.Can't anyone do anything about this!.My husband has now blocked it from my phone so we shall see if that works...it hopefully will. This is a hoot,as I am typing this the other # that keeps calling rings no one on the other end,That # is949-256-6209.This is really getting ridiculous!

If the caller had any intelligence they would have gotten a real job. Don"t answer unknown area codes or numbers.

Same thing here. Answer call and no one responds. When I call back, I immediately get recording saying that if I no longer want to receive these "Offers" please push 1. I do so and get message that it may take 72 hours to process my request. This is annoying and low class business practice.

I receive these calls 2-3 times a week or more and have requested  they not call me anymore as they direct, but t does no good.  I tried to get some help from the telephone service company  but not good enough so the next step is to go to the Board of Public Utilities.

I just got a call from this number (Fresno, CA).  I did not answer and they left no voicemail.  These calls are annoying. Got this one 40 minutes after a call from another annoying # 949-256-6209 from Orange County area!

Random call even though on blocked call list.

Cal id said  "SAVINGS". No one was on the line when I answered.

I picked up and it was a recording to lower my electric bill so I listened to the recording  which gave me an option to speak to a rep to learn more. When the rep picked up they asked for my account # to which I asked them to identify themselves. They only identify themself as the discount center. I have been getting numerous calls on my cell which has been registered on the do not call registry since April and each time I get the same response from different #'s. I keep telling them to stop calling me and they say ok only to receive another call a few days later. Today they tried to convince me that this is a different company when in reality it is the same place as they all identify themselves as discount center. So a complaint has been filed  with the do not call registry and I will continue to file complaints everytime they call until they are stopped. And by the way, I don't have an electric bill under my name. Just pick up and get as much info as possible and report them. Next time I will go through the whole sales pitch until I get the companies name.

I also received a call from 209-220-1941 today. I received the call about 4:30PM ET. My caller ID identified the calling number only as from Fresno CA..
I did answer the phone......NO ONE ANSWERED. I stayed on the phone for a minute asking who is calling?.....still, no answer.

Don't answer a call from this number. Don't waist YOUR time.
