called today and when I answered a voice just said, "goodbye".

Several calls from this number in the last few days.  When I answer, a person with a heavy accent tries to sell me insurance quotes or extended car warranties.  I've asked to be taken off their call list to no avail.  They called me back an hour later.

Called me twice today.  First time hung up.  Second time stated he was from USA Auto Service.  I said you have the wrong number.  The man said no, and I repeated you have the wrong number.  He replied by saying shut up stupid birtch and hung up.  These people call from different numbers and I keep blocking them.  Guess they won't learn.

I realize this appears quite long winded, but it is one hours worth of live chat with Magic Jack representatives (who were very helpful).  After receiving the phone call from 209-233-8864 at 6:47 pm EST. this evening, Wednesday March 26, 2014, I called the number back and went to their website to locate a way of contacting Magic Jack.  Below is the live chat in its entirety.

Apparently the "do not call service" does not work. ps If you call people and your company does not answer in anyway, does not identify who they are, which must be done by a "real liver person, not a recording", your company is violating at least one FCC regulation(s). This year, the number of such phone calls has dramitically increased. Glendolyn, is Magic Jack your employer?? If so, you need to bring this and other similar incidents to their attention.

I keep getting phone calls from this number and no one is there they keep calling and calling and calling.if I call it it isrestricted phone number

I have been getting calls from this number for the last few days now.  I don't answer.  They called again today at 6:52 pm.  I called in back after reading all of the season posts and it's says it's magic jack.  Do not call list doesn't work.  I've been on its for a long time and it's never has worked.

I'll get calls from this number and I don't answer. The times I've answered and not said anything the line disconnects and then a short time later I'll get a call from 661 476-3044, which is also listed on this site.

Called several times to Cell Phone Left No Message

Unwanted calls and it relates to majic jack when I return the call.

Or, they will call you from a different number.  Since last July, I've received 56 calls from 39 unique numbers.  I don't answer if I don't know who's calling, and very few have left messages.  But I always research the number calling me.  The information people have left about these numbers is so similar (and consistent with the few messages that were left) that I think they may all be the same organization.

Robo caller using a magic jack number to auto dial random people to solicit. Beware. They are scammers trying to get a dollar. Just block them from your phone. Once their system detects that your phone is blocking the number repeatedly, your number will be removed from their system and the calls will stop.

Lol  if you scroll back to Dec. 19th, you will see what I said and what I would do next time the call came. It did. Right after I left my comment in here, I got the call. I answered and the heavily accented guy said something. I very pleasantly asked him to repeat himself and when he did...? I screamed : "Stop f***ing calling me! NOW"!! Guess what. The calls stopped. :)

There is not only a reason they have not been stopped but there is a criminal file open on them in multiple states and with the FCC, as I have talked to some of them about this gimmick, and right now they can't do anything because here is how it works... It's a company that is not even in the US.. They cold call people to try to sell insurance, which is technically illegal in the US.. You can't telemarket insurance, period. but they are skirting their own personal loophole in that they are not actually selling the insurance.. If you agree to a quote they won't give it.. Instead they tell you you will get a call back and they turn around and SELL your info to a real insurance agent in the US for $5 and they call you 2 or 3 days later. I have talked to some of the insurance agents involved and they have no more clue who they are actually buying the info from than the FCC has in who's behind it... This is because they are not in the country at all and are calling through a VOIP network (usually Magick Jack) that hides their real identity behind a bank of VOIP anonymous outgoing call only numbers. The FCC and other organizations can't track the calls past whoever the VOIP service they are using at the time is... They are basically not only managing to hide their identity through using the Internet to call people isntead of the actual phone and they aren't even within the US to be arrested anyway but are probably calling from Sri Lanka or India.

It wouldn't matter if you did block it. They just change numbers every few weeks.. The SOBs have been harassing me for going on 3 years now and won't stop... I even have gotten to the point that the moment I hear the first 4 words of their pitch I start reciting the rest of it back to them, almost word for word verbatim and then remind them that every time they have called for the past two years I have told them to stop calling me, that my number is on the national DO NOT CALL registry and that I have not requested ANY auto insurance quotes lately and they either apologize or tell me to F-Off and hang up on me and I get 2 or 3 weeks of break before they call me again, from a different number.

calls 6 to 8 times a day but drops call. got thru once but i hung up. wished i would have ash him to put me on the do not call list. it is a magic jack number that has not been set up, so you cant call it.

I have gotten these phone calls from 209-233-8864 going on 2 years at my job and its really pissing me off I have told them countless times to stop callin me that i didnt want any dam insurance quotes and they keep on and on and tell me someone will call you within the next 24 hours to give you more quotes.  WTF am i suppose to do about this, I AM FED UP WITH THIS S***!

Have received 3 calls from them in the last 45 minutes, and they?ve left no messages. Now that I?ve read this, I?m reporting the number to the FCC and FTC - which you can easily find online. Please do the same - especially if they reese to stop calling you or call after 9.

THESE CALLS ARE ANNOYING... THEY CALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY ESPECIALLY WHILE I AM AT WORK.. THEY NEED TO STOP CALLING!!
