This just goes to show how stupid and idiotic debt collectors are and how they are willing to stoop to any level to make their reported 2.6 mil a year.  I don't know Richard Flinch, never heard of a Richard Flinch and have never even been called Richard Flinch, yet J & L Debt Collectors in Lodi, CA are going to continue to call my cell phone and leave voice message after voice message and not understand why Richard isn't calling them back.  Then if you decide to end the madness, they laugh at you, tell you you are a low life scumbag, liar, cheat, and swindler and then tell you there is nothing they can to do to stop the calls and the collections notice for another person you don't even know, never meet and can't help them with.  They want their money, pay their employees next to nothing and make exorbitant profits in a deliberately crap economy.

I have just received a message call from this company called J&L Teamworks at 1:30pm. Hawaii time by a Natalie Ellis from a 1-800-481-6006. And this was for a Andrew Hoyt(e). Now I was suspicious as to why a Collections Agency would be calling me for someone who I was Not! I did not live anywhere in California or the USA. And while talking to this person,she made the excuses of "I might have dialed or pressed the wrong number"? And then I could hear like she was looking up something on her computer. Likely trying to get more information about this call to me. I told her that she needed to find out more about this other guy and not me, because I knew who I was and nothing about this Andrew Hoyt(e). Then I told her to remove my number from her calling list.

Negotiate with them.  Get this in writing.  Know what you owe originally. and why are they asking for more. These guys get paid what they collect. depends on how the receivable is arranged, whether they bough them outright, or they get a percentage of collections.  Never pay full. they probably levied all kinds of late / processing fees and doubled what you originally owe.

These guys are calling my number asking for a person that I have no idea who it is.  After telling them numerous times to not call my number as I do not know this person, and I have this number now for over 2 years.  I've asked for the superviser's name - Yolanda and an address / fax number where I can send them a letter in writing to cease and desist letter to stop calling my telephone number looking for ms. xxx, as I don't know her.  She said that's not necessary for me to write them a letter.  I explained to her that I'm doing this as the FTC (Federal Trade Comission) recommended for me to do so, fax keep a receipt of letter, or send them a registered letter to cease and desist by certified mail, keep a copy.  Well, this prompted me to dig a little further on JL Teamworks.  I'm going to bring it to them... for the many disturbing calls I'm getting -- even after explaining that I don't know this person.  Typical of consumer collectors --some of them sounds nasty.  on one call, I told the caller, I have told her company for the more than 10X that I do not know this person, I have this number now for 2 plus years and you keep calling me... her smug response, "I can't read minds" well she's right, BC if she could read minds, she'll be doing another job like be on the tonight show instead of harrassing the wrong people and the wrong numbers. she should read something on how to make an ethical collection call - or better JL Teamworks should instigate this policy to their workers. that's probably asking too much.

I just got a call at my work, I only have the message, no idea that I owe anyone anything medical, usually I get a bill in the mail and pay it. I sent an email addressed to "George" with ext. 163, will see if I get a letter. I told them I don't accept phone calls at work or home. (I'm hard of hearing and don't like to talk to strangers.)

Agin another person that must not pay their bills. if you are familiar with this, and it sounds like you are then here is a little advise. The correct way to cease and desist is to put it in writing otherwise the statement is not valid. and agin this does not make your bill go away . just pay your bills..IM JUST SAYING!

This is not good advise i don't think that telling a collection agency you will report them to the state will make your debt go away.  if they are calling there could be a medical bill that is owed so you should verify the purpose of the call and yes if they call before 8am they are in violation and the correct stop time for the state of California is 9pm thought you would know this if you worked for a collection agency your self. IM JUST SAYING!

If you receive a call from a collections agency and don't respond, then you must be one of those people that don't take care of their responsibilities. just like Ron said ask they verify the debt and if you owe pay the bill and the calls will stop.IM JUST SAYING !

Thank you Wrangler for the advice. I paid my bill in full a few months ago. And, when I called them recently why they still keep sending me invoices and harrasing me about it,  they kept telling me that it has not been paid and the bill will collect interest which I would be responsible for as well. I told them my bank records show that the payment/check was cashed 2 months ago. Yet, they wanted proof of payment. I don't think they keep track of their records properly.

I hav good credit they or collection.. Y not jus confrim your info. Dont u care who has your info?? I never heard a person thas bout to "still" ur info call u up and giv u your DoB, and simply ask u to confrim.. Jus saying...  I delt wit them also I alws got good service. Oh and fyi I never lived in Lodi ither. Live in mountain view they handle lots of hospital... Ur in collections buddy: ct put them on the do not call list. pay your bill....

Ethics are not a major concern for J  & L. They also have a staffiing arm, and their Director (big title for a sales person) misrepresents, over promises, under delivers. Not surprised to hear that their collections arms does not follow the law either.

JL Teamworks is a healthcare collection.. if you owe money to their client (hospital or healthcare business) they turn to JL to collect from you... duh common sense people. ive been through them and they are not as bad a** you think they are.. all you got to do is communicate, just because economy is bad does not mean people are out for your money.. either pay your bill or dont go see a doctor! if you need your number to be taken off, you just call and tell them..

We are now embroiled with J&L over a bill which we are disputing because it is exorbitant.  I'm wondering, since you worked for them, do employees get some payback or reward if they get someone to pay the bill in full TODAY.  The person we were dealing with was very aggressive about getting paid in full TODAY.  Do employees get paid fairly?  What's going on there?  Thanks!!!

They've been calling me at my work for the past few months and I've answered about two times and asked for them to send me something in the mail and I receive the answer of  no. I went to pay the hospital the money, but they wouldn't even accept it. So when JL called again, I  asked for a slip in the mail and they told me that they were going to put my status as "refused to pay" and I told them that I never refused to pay anything and that I wanted to pay my bills. The guy said that he wasn't going to send anything and make my credit bad by putting refused to pay. I then proceeded to tell him that he couldn't give false information out about me or any information for that matter. He started to get very aggressive and told me that he could do whatever he wanted to do with my account and screw everything up.He started to raise his voice to the point as if he was practically yelling at me. I by that time had enough of the drama and hung up on him.I was very embarrassed. I AM GOING TO FILE MAJOR COMPLAINTS
