Constructive feedback on where or how to report these m*?$%her f(*&*ers would be appreciated. Too bad I can't drive there and have a chat face to face.
Can we prevent others from being ''scammed''?

I got the same call and he had a very heavy accent. He called saying that there was something wrong with my computer that I was not yet aware of and also stated that he had ALL my personal info. He was not only very difficult to understand but also extremely rude.

I got a call from these guys and they were very insistent and would not take no.
This is a scam! Do not give any information and do not let them take control of your computer. If you did already, add/change all account passwords immediately. Plus install a firewall and block incoming traffic to your computer without your permission.

It's a SCAM. The caller named David Cameron with a heavy accent, said he was calling because someone was trying to corrupt my computer. He said he works for Microsoft. I don't have problems with my computer. While I was talking to him on the phone, I Googled his phone number and I found out about the scam, so I told him directly on the phone that he was busted and that he should be ashamed to do this kind of "work".

They just called & gave my husband the same bull@#%# corrupt file story!! They were in our computer for about 5 min. What I need to know is...has anybody had an issue of identity theft regarding these worthless pieces of trash? My husband did not give a credit card. I'm so concerned but I don't really know what to do. Thanks for ANY help!!

Same thing happened to me. They initially called at 5am, identified themselves as Microsoft technicians and said I had a serious problem with my computer. When I wouldn't talk to them they called back at 6am. After being on the phone with them for 90 minutes and listening to how corrupted my files were and going through all the steps they asked me to they said I would need to register and pay $300. When I said NO they said I could pay $199 through PayPal. I to know very little about computers and was concerned that there was a serious problem but something just didn't feel right so I said NO again. They said they will call again tomorrow. GREAT!!!!!

What they want is remote access to your computer so they can rip you off. Don't do it, just hang up on them!

Just got a call from them and I'm located in Montreal, Canada. I told the first guy ( who's english was awfull) that there was no way I would provide infos about my computer. After 10 min., he transfered me to another guy who was clearly more acertive and when I asked for their phone number, he gave me that 209 etc... I am not a computer expert, but for me , a legitimate technical support center must have a 1-800 or 1-866 toll free line for clients.

They have called me 3 times and they try to tell you that there is something wrong with your computer. I told them that I know you guys are scammers so please stop and don't call again :)
though I don't think it would stop them from calling again.
sandi 2013-06-05 23:25:49 Unknown
Same happened to me, they must be scammers why would they want to know all this stuff?
RAW 2013-06-04 16:28:31 Unknown
I suspected this to be a scam caller from "windows help line" to help me with my computer that was sending them error messages on my internet connection. I asked the heavily accented caller for their phone number so I could call them back. He gave me the number (209) 348-9596. A reverse phone number look up shows it to be from Clement, Ca. I did not call back but did tell the guy to get a different job, one that was not a scam.

yes it is a scam , they say you have computer errors and problems in your soft ware and then try and sell you a AVG update.they got into my computer and where running my system, I backed out and shut the computer down, phoned my IT guy and he said they are a scam.
Change all your passwords immediately.
Man there is just no letting up with human perisites.
Pakies pungaby or what ever, if they focused on making their country a better place they would be able to have cold beer like the rest of the world eh!!!

Michael calls my elderly mother. The first time at 5:30 am. He keeps telling her that there are potential problems with her computer. She knows very little about computers and is trying to scare her. I keep telling her that it is a scam. But he keeps calling her. Anyone else out there know anything about this?

This company is a scam. They will try to convince you your computer has issues. If you allow them to, they will even link with your computer to add to the fear factor.
Beware, no internet security company, aside from your provider, will ever contact you by phone.
Elspeth 2013-05-04 17:35:56 Unknown
I don't think so.
