My name is Kate Barr, and I am in Marlton, NJ. I have been receiving these harassing phone calls also and have submitted a complaint to the California Bar Association. What I can't figure out is why you have not been more active in trying to clear up this situation? This is your reputation and good name that is now being dragged through the mud. I hope these people are finally caught and your name is cleared, but in the meantime, I will keep writing and complaining to whomever I can, until the threats of the Sheriff's Office being sent to my work stop.

I got calls from a guy today and Friday that mentioned I was supposed to call the customer affiars and Business regulations and speak to David Cooper and Mark Victor.  They wanted the name and address of my attoney so they could send info to me because my name was reconized for crimanl charges.  I asked from where and the Indian guy said, "From the courts of California!"  I asked where in California and he said, "California, Los Angeles" (proper English?")  The numbers were from 951-389-0290 and 510-761-5460.  The first time he called I called the number and there was just a beep like a recording so I hung up and then he called me back about 2 hours later.  I was just asking the names and then he got really agitated with me and abruptly asked me if I was Googling this source.  I said no,, but why would that be a problem?  Then I went on because he was so mean about me checking and I found this site.  Hope this helps people.

I RECEIVED A CALL ALSO FROM 916-395-0000. I WAS TOLD I WAS BEING ARRESTED AND FLOWN TO CALIFORNIA FOR 3 FELONY WARRANTS (BAD CHECK, FRAUD AND THEFT) FOR CASH ADVANCE USA. I WAS STUPID AND DID WESTERN UNION THEM $598.00. THE MAN WHO CALLED ME TOLD ME TO CALL THE ABOVE NUMBER AND ASK FOR DAVID COOPER BUT WHEN I CALLED I SPOKE TO A MAN WHO SAID HIS NAME WAS MARK VICTOR. I HAVE FILED A POLICE REPORT AND I HAVE CONTACTED THE REAL MARK VICTOR INFORMING HIM SOMEBODY WAS USING HIS NAME. THEY KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT ME (NAME, SS #, EMAIL ADDRESS, EMPLOYER, AND CREDIT REPORT). THEY SAID THAT 3 POLICE WOULD BE AT MY JOB TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE FELONY CHARGES AND MY ARREST. THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING

Hey just got a phone call from a 760-269-4211. It was an Indian guy that seemed to have some information on me however when I asked him about the person he works for he stated David Cooper.. I informed him that infact that I would contact my attorney...

I had some word for that habeeb mother bi*** who called and threatened to have the marshalls at my door in the morning. F****r couldn't speak english I told this to go back to india!

I got a call at 6:40 AM!!!!!! Stating they were calling from the Law Firm of David Cooper. I asked the fool did he know what time it was & he stated it was of urgent matter as to the reason they were calling so early. He gave me the number of 951-489-0225 to call for more information. When I called a woman with a thick accent answered & kept reading her script to me stating the Sheriff would come to my job if I do not answer their call & let her help me pay back the money I owed from a payday loan!!! I informed her in the loudest possible way that I NEVER received a loan. I did apply for one but when I saw the fees there was no way I needed the money that bad & I never accepted the loan (but I didn't tell her that). But, any who I informed her I would be turning the number in the authorities and to NEVER call me again with this bull crap!!!!!! This is ridiculous!!!! I am too upset!!!!

This same guy is calling a company I run in KY and asking for one of my employees. He calls everyday the number is 818-646-6831 and he is using James Miller, Ronnie Miller and Attorney David Cooper.

this number has called my home phone number repeatedly over the last 2 weeks. Even after i got on the phone and told them not to call any more. Two different people, who didn't even speak that great of English, just kept calling back to back. One of the men said they were calling for past due credit card bills. I've never even had a credit card! And that a detective would be showing up at my work in the next two days to take me to California to go to court? Has anyone else ever had this happen. Im so confused. They are still calling, and now they have my cell phone number, which i never gave them. Its getting to the point to where Im having to turn off my phone at night, this is ridiculous!

The story is idential. These people call with the worst threats saying they will arrest me in my office, etc. I pushed them back and started asking for their information. There are three people, Douglas Cooper, Mark Brown, Ryan Davis (who actually has a very thick accent). Cooper claims he is the manager of this firm and his CA Bar Assoc Lic is 190203. When I started calling back they actually started deniying that it was a business even though you could hear all the people talking in the background. The number I got is 209498-0510.

I have been rerceiving calls from this number as well for many weeks myself. The garbled Indian guy is very rude and leaves messages and states if I do not return his calls" I will face grave consequences bestowed upon me". The guy is also calling from this number as well 818-254-8582. The number 209-441-2412 is a landline number and one night when I was at work the number called me and I could hear arguing in the background and a baby babbling. I called the number 209-441-2412 back and a female answered the phone and when I questioned here she stated that only her and her child lives there. The phone is registerd to an Angela Taylor. I performed a reverse phone check and it will give you the address and the name of the individual. Hope this helps, and please DON'T GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT 1"

I just got a voicemail (barbled Indian guy) said they were from the Fedreal Legislature blah blah blah, I couldnt understand so I called back,asked what it was in regards to because I was running out of minutes theIndian guy says "IM THE ONE ASKING QUESTIONS< THIS IS DAVID COOPER< MY LAW FIRM" I told him that I was doing him a favor by calling him back and he just made it that much harder to get ahold of me! the number was 209-624-8722. Who the hell are these people?!? They have to be scammers.

i also got a call from (209) 441-2412 i am reporting today on all information to FBI. I am in Washinton state.  stupid thing is i fell for it and faxed.  (i  have already canceled my bank  card. thanks guys)

Well, this creep and his companies' antics have landed in Arizona. I got a call which registered as 0000 on my cell. Which indicates a computer generated call. with a heavy accent, demanding that either I call or my attorney of record call today or I will face the grave consequences myself!

I returned the call and an American answered the phone and I said nothing.... The accent I hear on the phone is definetly computer generated! This is a fake call alright and the wierd thing is I have no idea where my info came from ~ to them .

Maybe the CA lawyer can sue for defamation, fraud and identity theft for all of us a s  a class~action?

Yea i got a call and he had my name and address but he just kept saying if i wanted to settle it in court. what made no since was that the ammount he claimed i didnt pay back was less than the ammount I took out and he said that it was plus late fees... He also said some bogus company that i owed that was over Chek N Go called In Stock USA. I couldnt find nothin on that company.... He also threatned to come to my job monday to diliver some stuff and fly me all the way to california. Bogus...

Yes this just happen to me on my Job, but when I told him I had my own Lawyer he hung up the phone.

I also got a call from this number saying my husband owed money. As soon as I started asking questions as to what it was and when it was from he said "uh we'll look into it and hung up" What a scam!!!!! The name he gave me was Dexter Roy, said my husband had a law suit against him and he was from a law firm.

Obviously, someone pulled my name and Bar number from the public California State Bar website and is posing as me.  Sad state of affairs.  Probably some bozo in Pakistan.

I have received the same calls today from 209-441-2412 as well as my daughter on her cell phone. Obviously, they have hacked a consumer website and collected the information. They dont have mine, but my daughter used my information as a Point of Contact. My daughter had actually applied for a loan from cashadvance.con website. She never received any money nor confirmation of approved nor denied. Then the calls started. I have contacted cashadvance.com and am awaiting a reply from them as well as I have emailed the actuall attorney, David Alan Cooper, through the California Bar's contact list to bring this to his attention as well. I explained the situation, then stated that I would like him to call me to discuss the matter if his information had ben stolen (Identity Fraud) and that if I hadn't heard from him by Friday April 8th, 2011, I would be filing a complaint with the California Bar as well as having the military JAG's office submit one as well. I am an Active Duty soldier so they are at my finger tips.

I received a call from this number as well.  A man with a strong Indian accent identified himself as David Alan Cooper, California State Bar #190203. When I questioned why he was calling me and what he wanted as I had never applied for nor received money for a loan he stated that I was "irritating him" and hung up on me.  The number he called from registered on my caller ID as 916-395-0000; however, the return number was (209) 441-2412.  If the calls continue I am filing a complaint with the California State Bar Association.  I suggest you all do the same. SCAM!! They are full of crap. They are very believable and rude. They figure telling you things like that will make it more believable. However a true debt collector cannot in any way threaten you it is against the law. I had consumer afairs call them and they asked them all sorts of questions like who they worked for and who their supervisor is and they could not ans that. If that is the case they are fake. They will also ask you to fax a letter stating that you want to resolve the debt outside of court...DO NOT DO THAT!!

Yup they have been bugging me from december...they change their numbers all the time too so u cant block them. At first they actually  had me thinking I had lost my mind and did get one I could not remember lol. But now they are fun to talk to.

I got this call many times this week from this number. These people have actually been bugging me since December. DO NOT give them any money. I made the mistake of giving them 50.00 to supposedly hold my file open so I could investigate. being dual military we can not afford to get in trouble over finances. I have opened loans out in the past and thought maybe I had forgotten about one or possibly my husband who is deployed had one and I didnt know about it. I ended up having to close my accounts and all my cards to it. Because I was dumb enough to do that they do not go away and change their numbers constantly. BE CAREFUL. I even had consumer afairs and Jag call them. Does no good.

yea I got the same call you cannot understand them and his first name was I cannot understand but his last name was Miller there are a scamer,soo I told them  I was going to call the federal goverment CPS they hung-up.

I received at call from this number today at work.  The guys name was Dan.  I could barely understand him too.  They said they were going to send someone to my job to expedite me to California because of non payment of a loan, which I already paid.  The trip to California would cost more than the loan owed.  I would enjoy the trip so I can visit family.(smile)

I just went through the same thing.  They called and said I owed money for a payday loan.  They had all my information Bank Name, Account #, References that I do use for things, Work phone everything.  He told me that on Monday I would be receiving papers delivered to my home and that my work would be notified as well.  What is going on?
