Last night NBC 10 had a news report on scams like this:

Just got a call at work from 904 425 9004 from a guy claiming to be my attorney.  Since i told our receptionist what has been going on she knew it was a scam.  Not only could she hear people in the background but i work in a law firm so if i had an attorney he would be one of the attorneys i work for.  I called back the number cause they called my cell and it will ring once then hang up.  They call you back so i'm not sure what kind of equipment they are using.  But you can't actually call.  Once it hangs up they call you back.  He said he needed my attorney name and number.  i'm guessing they want to make sure people don't make up names so they probably do a search since i think most attorneys names are out on the web somwhere!  When i told him i knew it was a scam i told him to stop calling me.  Oh and he also told my receptionist that he was going to call me at home and tell me how rude she was cause she wouldn't tell him her name.  When i did talk to him i said how dare you call my work and say you are my attorney.  I said i work in a law firm moron so if i had one it would be from where i work.  I told him that it's illegal to claim to be an attorney, from the FBI or any other area of law when you really aren't.  He just kept saying ok and no problem.  i ended with stop calling me from all your different numbers and hung up.

I wouldn't worry about it because i'm pretty sure everything they are saying is illegal.  Just tell them you know its a scam and hang up.  i haven't gotten a call back since but that doesn't mean i won't get one again!  I have had 3 different people call me and try to get me to send them money!

They called now 4times uesing 2 different numbers.they say it's about a legal matter that we know about .Sorry PunJab don;t know. here is the other number 650-394-7461

These guys started calling me today and have been doing so for about 2 hours straight. When i asked them where their offices were located they said TX...which I knew was wrong because this is a California (Central Valley) phone number. The minute I heard the accent on the first call and the guys name, Chris Brown (LMAO) I immediately knew what it was all about. I congratulated them for having all of my information correct (SSN, Employer, Address, and so on) since this didn't mean squat. They kept telling me that I need to speak to their senior officer Angela Lims and of course could not give me the name of her company or agency other than the fact that she works for Bank Office Legal Dept, whatever the heck this means. According to them I have 3 criminal charges against me (LOL...what? an unpaid parking ticket?) They should at least harrass people with realy criminal records, they may be easier to convince. These guys are idiots and these scams may scare others but their full of it.

I just received a call as well I didn't answer cause I didn't know the #, but I was left a message that said my attorny needs to call asap and if I ignore the call the reprecussions will unfold on me greatly... What the hell? I don't get what they want?????

Got a call yesterday, they said they were going to come to my work and tell me all about it. If I wasnt there they would come to my home and arrest me! whatever! Told me not to call them back, it was done. Then this am I got another vm from the same #, telling me to call with my attorney info. I am going to call them time after time and bug them so bad! Stupid people! USA citizen want-to-bes!!!!!

They are open on Saturdays.  Not sure about Sundays though.  Will post tomorrow.

I'm hearing all of your responses and DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED!!!!   I'm glad that you are all rising up against them.  They CAN NOT harm us.  They have no power.  They try to scare you into paying them money; just don't do it.   I've been calling them non-stop for 3-4 days now and even spoofed my number when I called them.  

I used PrankDial and had Arnold call and speak with one of the girls at 209-498-0511.  She's so stupid she actually answered his questions. :)  They are INDIANS!  Spoke with one of the Indians (which i call Nabud) and he said that American people are stupid and that on a daily basis he scams about $15K.  

He claims that their call center has about 150 employees but I figure more like 30-35.  Called the Social Security office and was told that the scammers can't really use your info; that's why they scare you into sending them money or a promissary note for payment.  You can always put a hold on your credit through the bureaus however it will cost $10 per bureau in most states.  

More information will be posted as I obtain it.  If anyone is able to get their fax number please post.  Again, thank you all for HARASSING THE HARASSERS. Please comment.

OMG!!!!  I AM SO GOING TO CALL THEM AND THEY WILL NOT FORGET ME!!! They told me I was in trouble for check fraud and online fraud, I have no idea what they are talking about! I don;t even have a checking account! And has far as online fraud.....I don't even use FB!!!! When I told them they were a FRAUD they kept hanging up on me. They told me they would send me the deals to my work or I would be arrested at my residence. I have been so upset all evening about all this, how would they have all my info??? Thanks to people like you, I now know they are totally fake! I CANT WAIT TO BEG THE S*** OUT OF THEM!!!!!

They are fake obviously,they hacked a real agency and stople peoples personal info and are demanding an outragous amount of money. The number is out of San Andraes California (not sure about the spelling) They demanded that i put money on a Wal-mart gift card...im thinking they wanted that so it couldnt be traced anywhere,do not do it!

This is a fake collection agency,they hacked info from a real credit place and stole peoples information. They will ask you to put money on a Wal-mart gift card and send it to them. DO NOT DO IT! They are fake!

Shud i worry about this?

I just answered the call from this number and i told him that i looked the number up online and that i knew it was a scam.  He kept telling me it wasn't a scam and that he is calling from a legal department.  When he asked if i had an attorney i said yes i have about 30 of them because i work in a law firm.  His response was you have attorney.  i said yes i have a lot because of where i work.  I told him i knew what he was trying to do and that if he called back again that i would be contacting an attorney from my work about filing a complaint for the harrasement.  He was still talking when i hung up on him.

They tried the same scam on me.  I must have called them many times at different numbers and harassed them. I see it as, if I'm taking one line down they can not scam other person.  They do everything to scary you to pay. DONT BE FOOLED

FYI - No us agency can ever stop this from happen, especially if they are not calling within the US. the US government has NO JURISDICTION out of the US. We must play fire with fire.  Don't be scared people rise up and defend your selfs.  If you have some spare time do what i'm doing, and call the sh)t out of them.

They are not from india they are from an arab country.  They have spoofed there line therefore there is a good chance they are not calling with in the US.  I think the use an IP telephone service like skype. they seem to disconnect all there lines at 8:30pm eastern time.  I think if we all rise and call then as much as we can we can disrupt there scam.

Said they are cvm services and asked to call this number 209-498-0511.
