Received 4 phone calls in less than 2 hours.  Have no idea who they are.  They don't leave a message.

I recieved the same phone call from a Jonathon Ried with PCS stating that I was in big trouble with the legal department and needed to pay 667 to clear my debt. He sent me a settlement letter by email and looks as if it was written in microsoft word in ten minutes. For those of you out there that recieve this please be aware that there are certain things that red flag it right away.

- Just because an electronic document has confidential, secret, priority.......written across the paper in watermark does not make it official. These can be added in microsoft office in a matter of seconds to make the document more legitimate.
-If someone is actually suing you they must provide a case report from the county in which you live in and have to pay a filing fee to even submit a lawsuit. The paperwork they send you must include all of their demographic informaiton as well and verified by the courts.
- If they do not give you an option of a mail in payment via money order and adequete time to recieve such payment they are not real.
- The biggest one is that they must state that they are a debt collector at the beginning of the call, regardless if they are a law firm or not. According to federal regulations they must also take a statement of collection when addressing you for your payment, it must be on a recorded line and they must tell you that they are collecting a debt from you and that you are making collection arrangements.

Or do what I did and just kept calling them over and over again asking questions I knew they couldnt answer so that they would get upset enough to stop calling you. It only took 20 some calls but I think they got the message. They used the numbers 814-322-9204 and 347-380-8985.

Keep in mind that if some one has a thicken indian accent and is calling themselves bob smith it is most likely not their real name and if they are lying about that then everything else is a lie too.

Ian tucker called barely speak English. Want my cc info for a bill. He fax me info but it still dnt look right it just PCS, his name,case # and a place for my info. He has called me 10 times today and 4 time yesterday. I dnt know how he got my cell. He ado called frm a 347 area code at my job left a msg. Pending charges again me I not taking this serious he can sent the sheriff to my house.little does he know my mother works for sheriff department. Why haven't they said anything?

Just wondering...I have reported these people and I am sure others have, yet it just continues...so is anything really being DONE about it, and if not, how can we get something DONE about it, cuz I never want to hear one of those a***oles voices on my phone or VM ever again, because if you don't answer they will leave a s****y VM in that s****y accent of theirs.

okay so I've had to call this number of 347-380-8982. A man named Jackie Williams... He called my cell phone 37 times this morning for credit card information so I gave him a green dot card number I never use and let him run that. I'm very tired of these calls and I cannot handle this anymore, I may just have my number changed because it's harrassing.

I would like to stop receiving calls from this number. I don't know who they are and I have no reason to speak to them. Please help. They call all day, every day.

guy called and said, if I do not pay a lump size of amount of money, that my mom would be in danger! I cussed him out and hung up,..... he kept calling me back and cussing me out, so I called the cops and right now they are coming. All of this at my job. A***oles!! SCAM!! BEWARE!!

Do not fall for these scammers, they are not valid, you may owe a payday loan but it's not to these people and do not give them any information over the phone, they will take you for everything you got.

My husband got several calls today from that same number from a guy who said his name was Samuel.  He was asking for me and my husband would tell him I wasn't there and he would still keep calling back.  I guess I will have to block the phone number.

this is very interesting information on this website. i received a phone call from this number, and the guy said he is an attorney for pcs and that my name was under investigation. i asked for his information and i googled and here is what i came up with! how interesting!!! i also googled the office address: 101 east green street, brooklyn, ny 14650 and also i looked up attorney search which provided no such information on: Morgan Black - Attorney...like he was claiming. this is his license # he gave me: VSW 142913...no info came up either! but the number he called from was: 209-555-1214 and the call back number he gave: 347-269-0834. i asked for documentation and he asked me what would i need it for? i told him if i'm under investigation and my social security is under scrutiny, i need to see documentation stating so! which he said he would fax over. yeah right! these people have nothing better to do but waste my time! i will be filing a police report, call the FBI in new york and california and what other agencies so they can figure out how and why they're doing this! i appreciate i am not the only receiving these ridiculous phone calls!!!

File complaints with the attorney general, the FTC and the FBI.  Provide as much info as you can, including telephone numbers, what the persons say, the names/aliases they use, etc. The online forms for the government agency complaints are quick and easy -- if you can post here, you can file the complaints, they are user friendly.  The more people who report these creeps improves the likelihood they will be caught.

Got a call from this number today. The man claimed I took out a loan on-line 1 year ago in 2010. He didn't have any real info. I have filed law work for people and study law as a hobby. He claimed I used my ex as a reference who I haven't been with in 2 years. I asked the man more info and he kept getting mad. He claimed he worked for a law firm. Being I know plenty of people in law firms I asked him for his bar association number and he kept avoiding the subject. The bank he claimed the loan was deposited in I have not had a bank account with ever. I have dealt with these type of calls for a year now.

I did some research on this. The phone calls are actually made from a computer from people that have stolen or bought information from companies that have or are going out of business.

I had to deal with these guys about a year or so ago and now for some reason they are calling my work cell. I have "Bob Johnson" that has a very heavy accent. Last time I had Mark Stevens...I reported them to the fcc, fbi, and the local phone company that owned the number.. nothing and now I see they are back... awesome

These a-hole scammers are ridiculous and need to get real jobs. They prey off people who have had to use a payday loan in the past, whether you have or haven't paid your loan. I have documentation to prove I have paid off my loan, but they still say that I will have charges filed against me. One woman (not from this particular number) actually told me to make sure I'm home at 7 p.m. so my local Sheriff could come arrest me.

Basically, don't give ANY information to these people. When they ask to confirm my social security number, I never say yes or no, I just tell them I will not confirm.

I try and keep these guys on the phone as long as I can, so maybe it'll be one less person they harass. It feels good to waste their time when they waste so much of mine. One thing we can do is take down as much information as we can (Name, return phone number, etc) and make complaints to the Federal Trade Commission.

A guy with a heavy indian accent called me at work and left a message saying I have serious legal troubles against my ss#. He called from 205-555-1214 and left a call back number of 347-380-8982. His name was DAVID SMITH.  When I called back I spoke to JOHN HUDSON his supervisor.  The claim is from Cash Advance USA.  He proceeded to tell me all the legal ramifications (I really tried to listen but couldn't understand a damn word he said).  Then I asked for the phone number for Cash Advance USA, he gave me 814-322-9203, I also asked for a case file number, he gave it to me and when I asked to repeat it back to him (just to be sure) he hung up.  These people threatened to call references, employer and my manager.  Go ahead, make my day:)

They are very unprofessional and profane in nature.  I asked him for his information so I could have my attorney call him back  regarding this "lawsuit".  It's for a payday advance I never took out. He started calling me all kinds of names and hung up. I know it's a scam but I feel like an idiot.  I believe the only way they got my information was by me going on line searching for a payday advance. But when my search resulted in literally over 50 offers I didn't not get one for the fear of it being a scam.    I'll never put my social sec # in the www again unless I know it's a trusted company.

My wife receives calls at her office from this number.  The caller claims to be Mark Stevens from PCS, Public Consolidation Services.  There is a lawsuit being filed against my social security number and I need to call them immediately at 347-434-2547 and ask for Mark Stevens.  My wife never speaks to them, but they leave a message on her voice mail.  There is a lot of background noise, a lot of people talking at once.  They end the call with, "Have a blest day." - Really? They have a VERY heavy accent and if I don't respond, the calls end for several months, then they'll call again.  When they first started calling it was about a cash advance loan... but we NEVER took one out.

I had someone call me saying I owe money to some cash advance too.  They said they deposited the
money 6 months ago into my old account that was already closed.  That there would be a lawsuit if
I didn't take care of the matter in 24 hrs.  I told them I had to call my bank and find out what's going on and then they changed to if I ddin't take care of the matter in 2 hrs there would be a lawsuit.  The guy I talked to had heavy accent and pretended to be 2 people and he even got the names confused himself.  I got a copy of my statements from my old account and there were no deposits made from any cash advance place at anytime.  It's a huge scam!!!

Have received 3 calls from this number -- they left unintelligible message, heavily accented (possibly Caribbean or Haitian judging from the lilt and inflection) threatening "charges against my Social Security Number" and that they will phone my family, friends, work, etc.  Man claimed his name was 'Brian Jones'.  They left a call back number of 814-322-9206.  I called it and asked who it was.  The man was very belligerent, "You call my phone and then ask me who I am?"  I told him he had phoned me and I wanted to know who he was.  He then said he was "Officer Deval".  I asked him where he was located and he hung up.  They called again--when I returned the call I was told that 'Brian Jones' had left and what was my phone number.  I didn't give my number but asked who they were.  The man said they were "American Legal Services".  Again, I asked for his location and he hung up.
I am a former paralegal for a metropolitan district attorney in my state.  This is a scam.  Do not give them any information and report them to any appropriate agency you can think of -- FTC, State Attorney General, etc.

209-555-1214 - Scammers - nothing but threats and nasty that I owe money and I will be arrested if I don't pay up.  I don't owe any money to whom they are saying.  Don't answer the phone. These people should be sued and thrown in jail.

Scammers. Just called my cell phone 28 times. Now I'm waiting for my desk phone to start ringing. I applied for a cash advance on line 1 year ago. Bad move because it puts your information out there, for scammers to steal from you any way they can. So, I paid it off. But not before the calls started coming. I've had calls from at least 40 different numbers, always heavy accented, always with "American names", who never can verify info, but continue the harrassing, threats, etc. I called the Federal Trade Commission, they can't help, because these people are not operating in this country (even though the numbers are from this country). I've talked to local and state police. The only thing I can do is block the numbers as they come in. I'm so tired of these calls. Once, one of these creeps called my cell at home. I had my husband answer it. The guy asked for me, my husband says this is her husband, what do you want? He hung up. Never called back from that line again. But there's always another phone number they can steal and use. One deterent that's worked in the past (for a few months at least)...the guy said he was coming to my office within 3 hours and physically take me to court. I got angry, told him to come on down, that I'd have local, state, federal officials (including the INS) here waiting for him. Come on down, drop by, you see what happens. Like I said, that lasted for a few months and then other calls.
