he posted a scam on  craigslist saying exactly the same thing. email used was aaroncliff009@gmail.com Aaron Cliff he sent me the checks named Cliff Aaron . i reported him to police do not give him info block him

I have the same issue in progress right now with this Cliff Aaron idiot, I smelled the rat from the beginning and decided to play his game. I am now in the process of trying to scam the scammer. Lol

Very nice heads-up.  I too applied to a admin assistant job recently and was replied to with the nearly the same info about needing to send me a check to deposit so I can do personal errands and purchase items from Sears, Best Buy, and Walmart.  This immediately felt scammish.  The emaul account was from phiahunt678@gmail.com also calling himself James Charlie.  He said he was a consultant in international business and most of his clients were abroad outside of the US.  He said currently he was in Athens, Greece and inquired as to how soon can I make these purchases for him before his arrival at the end of March.  Funny thing is I notated on my cover-letter that I was internet savvy and yet he still wouldn't think I'd do a reverse-IP lookup of the email to determine its origin?  It was from the US, not Greece.  Furthermore a simple google of his email address and here is this thread!  Thanks Michelle!

Ok.  If you have applied to a help wanted on craigs list Mine was a admin./clerical job and then you get an e-mail back stating that it has been taken but, they have a personal asst. job open up and they are really busy and needs to send you a check to deposit or cash to buy things for them.  here is a phone number 209-764-7297 and there were 2 different e-mail coming from this peroson  <jamescharlies412@yahoo.com and phiahunt678@gmail.com James Charlie was his name.  The Fake Name on the check was John Murray and it was a cashiers check from Geo Ista credit union out of GA and I have already called them and they are aware of this scam and the post office is on board with Mail frad.  Don't cash the check it will come to get you
