I just added them to my phones "Reject List" and move on about my business.  It's still irritating because it seems like every week I get a call from some strange unknown #.

They asked me for my account number or ss number right when I called. I asked them who they were and they transferred me 3 different times. Then when I asked who they are and what they do they said its classified information. I said If your classified and calling me then I have a right to know. He tried to cover up by saying if you dont know who we are why did you call. Hahah I told him you called me and the dumb a$$ said " we have the wrong number." Useless people have jobs like that.

I received a call from this company (?) asking about a neighbor down the street.  Caller ID stated "Performant Reco".  I basically told the woman to F off, as it's her job to track these people down.  I wouldn't give her any information.  I asked her why she was calling me, she gave no answer, I then asked her how she got my number.  She stated she did a reverse lookup of my address.  I'm guessing they just try every house number on the block hoping someone will assist them.  Trifling.

Collection agency with the wrong number. I've told them this several times, and they keep calling.

1st time I received a call from them was today, no message left. When I called back the recording that answered sounded like it said, Performance was the name of the company. Then it started ringing, no one picked up, so I hung up. Not sure what it could be about, I don't owe anyone money..................?

I wanted to add that once I said no one here by that name and remove this number from their database, the caller got very sexual and vulgar.  THIS NEEDS TO STOP!

This company continuously calls looking for "Ulva"  not same last name either.  It was a 'blocked' number and working on it with my cell carrier to obtain their actual name and address.  

the trick is to call them on it. send them the cease letter by any way/means necessary. (email, fax, etc.).  they are violating the FDCPA and your local/state TPA.

someone has to stop these people.  One thing about the Wheeling WV woman, even though she 'won' that company is still in business!

Always background noise only. No real message ever left which tells me they are scamming pieces of **it!
Whoever was in the room with caller called someone else saying 'I got this lady that sits at home posting on Facebook all day' then the kids made to much noise to hear the rest.
I will take these recordings to the sheriff bc I have quite a few saved.
Their second call today was blasting music then the kids before it cut off.

THIS COMPANY IS CALLING THE WRONG NUMBER ( MINE) FOUR TO FIVE TIMES A DAY

I answered the call knowing it was from a California area code.  There was a 3-5 second pause before anyone started talking.  This is a dialer working with a hustler.  If you detect a noticeable pause before hearing anything just hang up.

Whoever owns this number has been calling my number for years and it is always recorded.  They are probably trying to call someone who either used to live here or had the same number...but even if I knew I would not tell any bottom feeder from a collection agency or any stranger. They are like bottom feeders because they feed on scum and misery at others expense.

Obviously having a functioning brain isn't a requirement to work for this company. The person they keep calling about, passed away approx. 9 to 10 yrs. ago. They have been informed of his death and yet, they continue to call my business number asking to speak to him. I would say they are as dumb as a rock, but that would be insulting to rocks everywhere.

I've gotten calls for another person owing a student loan ever since we got our new phone numbers. None of them leave a message and none of them are there when you answer. I only know they are for student loans by googling the numbers. This number called and again, no message left.  If they are legit, they should leave a message on who they are looking for.  Not to mention be on the phone when you answer so if they are calling the wrong person again you can let them know that person obviously skipped out on them and to stop calling you.

This company keeps calling my cell phone and leaving messages for a Thomas Foster. I have the same first name so they keep leaving messages. I have had the same cell number for 15 years so I doubt it is a reissued number. It's getting old. Go scam someone else.

Did you all see this from back 3rd of Feb 2010? I've just started getting these calls. I am paying the student loans and there is no issue with it as I have checked. I tend to believe the following from LawEnforcer and will not be responding.

They called me and claimed to be an Attorney with the legal Dept. I could hardly understand him and when I pressed him for his bar number he started cussing at me and every other word out of his mouth was f*** this and f*** that. He told me I was mad (crazy) and then gave me someone else's personal information to include, SSN, Name. Bank Info, DOB, and email address - at that point I couldn't contain myself and started laughing at him. He got more angered and threated to show up at my house and hurt my family. I am a law enforcement officer and was smart enough to record the entire exchange. I called back the next day and said  nothing, just played the recording! I haven't heard from them since. I turned all of the information over to the Secret Service being that they have a special unit for this kind of thing, as well as the US Attorneys office whom also has a special unit for this type of crime against individuals. From my understanding the incinuation that this terrorist was an Attorney and representing Virginia is a federal crime, furthermore the threat against my families safety in an attempt to obtain money is extortion. Both can have these people locked up for some time. If you get any of these calls RECORD them and turn them over to a local secret service office - they will route to the proper place. Also be sure to turn over to yours states Attorney's office. As the case grows these terrorists will spend a long time in jail. More importantly if they happen to be out of the county and are having these calls routed through a US area code, as some do, they are going to have additional charges filled! NEVER give them your information, if they already have it they are fishing for the one missing piece to be able to cheat you out of everything, they will even go as far as asking you fax them something authorizing them to remove money from your bank. NEVER verify the information that they do have, tell them that they are wrong and as I said before RECORD it all!!!

Furthemore, I live in VA and if anyone attempts to call you they will call you from an 804 or 540 number being that those are the only places that VA debt collection offices are. They DO NOT hire out for the purpose of debt collection. Also if ANYONE tells you that they are calling from the STATE of Virginia you can be certain that they are a fake - Virginia is not a State it is a Commonwealth and all employees of the Commonwealth refer to Virginia as just that - The Commonwealth of Virginia.

Did not answer call.   I don't have any debt so is it really a fishing scheme?   Ligit company's phone numbers come up when searched on the web.

Thank you so much, Federal Government, for making cell phone numbers public. I can't tell you how much I appreciate getting spam calls 8 to 10 times a day. What a gloriously stupid idea that was. A festival of idiocy. This number 209-858-3500 is calling my cell phone 3 or 4 times a day. I, of course, do not answer because I do not recognize the number but I know it's some b****ole scamming me. Thanks, Fed. You're doing a stellar job.

Received a call at about 9am January 31, 2014. Woman, polite, asking to speak to LEE HUNSACKER. Told her I don't know anyone named LEE at all right out of the gate and the last name is also not familiar to me. I have had several missed calls from that number on my cell phone over the past week with no messages left. Unbelievable. Some kind of collection agency, I could tell by the way she was not telling me very much but wanting to know if I knew anyone by this first or last name. Said NO and please do not call me again. Blocking the incoming number on my cell phone. BTW this is DCS and they have consumer complaints all over the internet. Mainly, the complaints are like the call to me where they are trying to pump you for information on a neighbor, co worker, or someone else with your name or a similar last name to yours to see if you are dumb enough to give them information about that person if you know who they are asking about. Good luck. Scum abounds!

You are correct! Do not give these thugs anything: not money, not information about yourself or anybody! They are trying to scam you or some you possibly know by calling different numbers.

This is NOT a legitimate business. They are trying to get money from you. I've verified this. You are warned. If this number calls you, DO NOT give them any information at all! Not yours and not anybody's!

Even IF a legitimate business calls you, you have no right to give out other people's information without that person's prior consent, whether it be family, friend, or acquaintance.

How these people live with themselves is beyond me. They need to find a respectable line of work!

omg These people call you from all different area codes first it was 718 blah blah (I told them I wasn't the person they were seeking)...so Im thinking ok the phone call will stop...I guess Im not thinking so well cuz then the calls have come from 212 area code, Georgia area code, Virginia area code, Florida area code and now California oh I I believe from Washington too.  I give up don't answer any call you don't know is all I can say because these calls started 12/1/13 and IO get them everyday twice a day from a different area code.  When I seek it out on the internet all of the numbers say DIVERSIFIED...don't be a sucker buy wasting your time, cell minutes or your breath.....USELESS

I JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL FROM THIS NUMBER. I ANSWERED THE PHONE AND THE LADY WAS VERY NASTY WHEN I ASKED WHATDID  THIS CALL PERTAIN TO. WHEN  I WOULDN'T GIVE HER ANY INFORMATION SHE ASKED TO BE CONNECTED TO HR. THEN THE WOMAN CALLED BACK AND  SAID HER NAME IS LISA GRAY. THEY ARE A  DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A MESSAGE HAS BEEN LEFT. I WILL NOT BE HARRASSED AT MY JOB.

i received 5 calls from this number (2098583500) at my job. I wasn't there 2 days and when I came back and checked my call log I saw they had called 4 times and I just received a call today. No message was left and I am sick of these scam artist calling my cell phone and my job trying to extort money. Something needs to be done to these people. This is all out HARRASSMENT!!! These people have nothing else better to do but try to steal money from people instead of earning it the honest way!
