I got a message from alanu02@gmail.com in response to an ad I posted on Craigslist saying only, "Is the room still available??" Most people aren't this terse so it was an obvious red flag.

I also have an ad on Craigslist for my cleaning business. They said they needed my services for a wedding on the 29th of December! Total crap! They wanted my personal information and stated they would send me a cashier's check and would sign a contract in person after I cashed it.
I caught on real quick as I am a very serious minded business owner and protect myself and my company at all times! I told them that I would not give out my info and that I knew it was a fraudulent email and I would only do business in person to give a proper estimate.
One of the emails was from moyanre01@gmail.com
I am reporting this user to gmail as well as the authorities! It is my hope for them to be prosecuted!!!!
Sellers, business owners beware!

Just got the exact same email. I am so happy that I did a little research. I felt like something was up when I tried to respond to the original email and it seemed like it had come from two different places. The bad grammar wasn't exactly a tip-off - unfortunately many of my clients have been legit (and just had bad grammar) - but the forceful nature of the second email I got from this person did the job for me. Luckily I didn't send out any personal information. I did call them out on their scam. I doubt they'll reply since they now know I have their number. Pretty disturbing that they seem to have gotten away with this whole song and dance before. Email addresses I got were: moyanre01@gmail.com and alanu02@gmail.com

This was in reply to my ad for my Photo booth services. The email was from ongburo14@gmail.com and the name going by is Jane Rich~ The original date asked for was September 22nd but I was booked that day. BIG RED FLAG. I asked several questions like WHERE the wedding will be held since she is out of state she would NOT answer me. SECOND RED FLAG, then I looked up the email address and called my bank to ask what they could do to see if the money was actually there or not. When it comes you can bet we will be asking, and forwarding her or his tushy to FBI.

I got this exact same message yesterday in response to a Craigslist posting. I thought it was fishy because we state our rate in the ad... We do face painting... Plus how many people book facepainters for a wedding???!  I goog
Googled the email reelenny3@gmail.com and this site came up. I deleted the email without responding.

What do these scammers do if you reply? Do then then spam you incessantly? I made the mistake of responding to some queries to Craigslist posts asking about our rate ( which as mentioned is stated already in our post) and now receive tons of spam.

Just got the email below in response to a craigslist posting and felt that something was fishy because of improper grammar and punctuation.

Hey.... Will you be available on the 22nd of September for my wedding? Also, How much do you charge per hour"

Your welcome.

So, I decided to google the email address and it brought me to this thread. Whoever is doing the scams seems to still be at it and not showing any signs of slowing down. The email address it came from was reelenny3@gmail.com.

Just remember, if something seems fishy, it probably is!

I know some of these emails i will give belong to the same person but I know some do belong to the moyan email and do have reason to believe all do because we kept getting a very similar email to hire our photography services. So we decided to block the email addresses. james.larry216@gmail.com, jasonisagoodboy244@gmail.com, jimy.young010@gmail.com, moyanre01@gmail.com, ongburo14@gmail.com, sydeedward1@gmail.com, sydeedward@gmail.com, yettyisgood5@gmail.com. As you can tell, all are gmail accounts. caught on quick because this person would send from 2 different email addresses for 2 different dates for services and it was written the same with the date of august and like mentioned, the first 2 emails were from gmail. then i blocked them and then got more emails tonight, all from gmail.

I recently put an ad for childcare in my home.I don't know if it's the same person, this one identified herself as Amber Wood and was mute and gay but I do know it's the same number.Haven't received any check yet,but had full txt conversation with the person.Apparentely the person is not concerned with the consequences of doing something fraudulent. It's one of the many bogus email response/phone calls I have gotten from my ad and warning them by reporting them doesn't seem to deter them either. But after I had asked how is it possible for them to take advantage of innocent people and weren't they worried about getting caught eventually seemed to work...she hasn't txt back....Now to get to the debt collector bogus payment letter, this one had called on behalf of Sprint debt collections.I called Sprint they said I'm not in their system and they researched my SS # and try to call the number the bogus collections called from,it said it wasn't a working number.....had another one for an offer a free trip to some destination just for attending an event meeting for "Home Improvement" furniture in Fort Worth,I asked for them to send a catalog and unfortunately they didn't have one. People beware when you post ads on craigslist people think everyone is not paying attention!!Don't be a victim and fall for these scams......

I had the same exact thing happen!  I had an ad on craigslist for child care - they were offering a ridiculous amount of money for the hours they needed for care.  By the writing in the email, you could tell the person isn't very educated, or has English as a 2nd language.  He also asked for my full name, address, and phone number in order for him to send a check.  Yeah right!

The email came from moyanre01@gmail.com.   He said that his wife is Kassandra, his name is Elliott and his daughter is Mary.  Total BULL!
