I am in southern CA. Received call on land line from "Moccasin, CA" at the number in this thread. All my land line calls go to voicemail. They did not leave a message. I'm at the point where I keep the land line for all credit card, bank, utility, etc., companies to call. Only business associates, doctors, and family/friends, have my cell number.

Caller Id is just not effective anymore. And yes, the land line is an unlisted number.

Yes same here... i'm in norcal. Left no message and I have also an unlisted number. Leave complaint with FTC is my guess.

MOCCASIN CA and called once

We are getting more and more calls now from the 209 area code.....These robo callers now have so many numbers that they have to continue to get new area codes.  1-2 yrs ago you never saw any of these calls come in from that area code although, of course, they are not located from that area!  Glad to know some one found out who these scammers are!!!

Just received a call from this number...  Of course I didn't recognize the number, so didn't answer call....

Got the same, Moccasin, CA. Person said they were calling to raise money for the police department.  Wanted to send me a pledge card.  After I told them to remove me from their list (and I am on the DO NOT CALL list), I called this number back a couple hours later.  

They are based on the east coast (as their message states) -- not the west coast.

Probably one of those robot systems designed for calling sequential numbers to see which ones are active so they can sell the list to telemarketers and make us very unamused. Do Not Call Registry can't stop all of them but I try to report ones I receive in hopes it will discourage a few. Sometimes I call the number back to tell them to take me off their list and to tell them they have been reported. I am in Sacramento CA.

Call from someone called Moccasin CA 4-14-14. Don't know who or possibly what company this is so I didnt pick up and they left no message. They called my house phone which is unlisted and I am counting registered on the Do Not Call Registry.

also got a call from this number at 7 pm on 4/10/2014. not in the mood to answer and left no message.  Here in Northern California.  Don't know anyone from that area.
