Same thing is happening with me; a guy with an indian accent telling me i have a virus on my computer, they have called me six times since June 25th including today July 7th.  Sometimes the call display shows Texas with the # 210-210-1739 sometimes it shows Unknown Caller.  I have told him to give me his number & I would have my tech contact him then he pretended it was a bad connection & kept repeating hello.  One time he ask me why I couldn't just go to my computer & I told him I was still in bed.  There are times I didn't even answer.

I answered the phone and with a second hesitation, an Asian sounding male said hello. I knew the caller was a telemarketer or something so I got strat to the point telling him to remove my number from his list. He said there was no list and that " he just wanted to  F  me. I promptly and very forcefully told him to never call my number again or I would call the police and I hung up.  He sure better not call again ...

Same thing.... 210-210-1739 and the usual Windows Support ploy.... I pretended to go into complete paranoid shock, asked him if it was the work of terrorists (no), ok, then is it the government spying on me?  (no)  - he kept trying to steer me to my computer, but I told him it was turned off because the aliens might be watching.... LOL he still didn't realize I was f**king with him, the stupid t**t.  Finally he became boring so I told him I run Linux and he is a scamming f**k-face.  For some reason, he hung up.   Go figure.

the caller identified himself as a Microsoft IT support company (something International- BlahBlah) and my computer was giving out signals that I had downloaded endangering things and he was "there to correct them". I pressed to ask which computer ( we have a few), and the fact I don't use any Microsoft programs (other than a word VERY scarcely) he gave me a long string of numbers/letters. Had my address, my phone number and said my ID. He could not identify my computer and I asked for a name and contact to call back - he gave me the name Max (no last name), and a phone 1-800-635-510 (one number short of a North American number ? well since the 50's). I pressed the fact, and he said that was his number....   Hmmmmmmmm - looks like all have had sketchy at best experiences.

She actually asked me if I knew what a computer is... Can someone stop these people please!!! I am on the no call list too, obviously doesn't work with scammers!!!

They called this number  1-210-210-1739 (Looks to be located in New York) , but gave me another number to call back:315-285-4200
. A man Called Mike with indian accent said that his company was authorized by Microsoft to check a problem on my computer.
I asked how do you know I have a computer?
He said, you have a legitimate windows 7 installed and we have it registered. And because your nomber is legitimate we have been contacted to solve a problem.
Your computer is sending a lot of messages and feedback and we receive them. You are infected by several viruses. To prove it to you go to the computer and turn it on. How long it takes to boot, 20 seconds? 45 seconds or more?

Then he asked me to type some commands on the computer and to check a screen that was coming up. And from his side he read a number that was my computer CLSID, 36 characters including some dashes. The number was correct, so they have ways of getting information from my computer.
I said II dont know who you are, do you have a phone number to call?
He gave me the number and I called from another phone, someone answered and handed the phone to him. Then after he transferred the call to another man with indian accent too. I don't remember his name, but was an english name.Afer doing an extensive routine in my computer checking configurations and processess running and everything else they made me download a program PC optimizer and they installed or had already installed a remote desktop that allowed them to see my computer and control it from there.

After the whole think they wanted to sell me a license for a sofware and generate one for me. They gave me tree choices, a lifetime licence for $299, a six year licence for $199 and a three year licence for $149. When I said tha that I needed to decide what to do they said that may computer was going to crash in a week, and asked me how many children I had and said that they were going to be old by the time I decided. I saidd, I didn't called you, you called me and you are selling me something. He said  that the software was free I only needed to buy the licence. I said, Same thing , your sofware without a licence is just junk. I had to decide what to do. He asked you said no?  I said, yes, I am not buying it right now, so he started deleting mome files we had open, I closed the internet connection.

I don't know if this is a legitimate call, but they have powerful software and know the computer system, so they can move around your computer. Be careful. The software is called PC Optimizer, and there is another called AMMYY

I received a call from this number about 2 months ago around or just after 7pm. Said I have a problem with my computer and he was from Microsoft. I hung up.
Got a call about 2 minutes ago, and there was nothing at the other end. I hung up, call the number, and was told there was trouble routing the call so could not be connected. BS...something must be able to stop these hackers from calling!

He claimed to be a Microsoft technician, and seemd to have a French accent. Apparently my computer was hacked, or need protection from hackers, or I had an illegal version if software and would stop working tomorrow and he was trying to help me. The story kept changing. He didn't know what version of software I had, or how many computers I oen. It sounded like a business center with lots of neighboring workers. First tried to get be using the run command, I acted stupid, and then tried to get me to ammyy.com. That's when I hung up.

The gentleman that called from this number stated that one of my computers using "Windows 7 has been sending many error messages" and I believe he wanted me to install something on my computer to "fix" it.

I asked him what the computer name or MAC address of the affected machine was so I could narrow down where the problem came from. He responded with "the one with Windows 7". I asked again, as I have many machines here with Windows 7 on it, and he said "the first one". I wished him a good day and hung up.

For those people who are not very tech-savvy, no need to worry, your computer is fine. Calls from this number are obviously *not* legitimate. If you get a call from this number, just hang up.
