I received an email from a Michael Roebuck stating the same thing that he was from Lackland AFB and wanted to buy me car. I just had a bad feeling about this transaction. I am glad that I looked this up. Just beware.

I just received text messages from this number, he said he was deployed military and interested in my $20K BMW. He said he would send the funds via Paypal and send a 'hauler' to pick it up. He also gave me the phone # 956-299-8362. I tried calling it and it went thru Google voice, which I got VM

(951) 977-1087 he is using the name Arthur Schwartz at this phone number and the exact same questions to me, need a hauler, same air base and everything. When i said to give me his graduating college and patrolling officers name(after reading this) he said he was going on patrol lol

Now a mark fox is using ph no 210 560 3045 to scam

He used 210-716-0461 and the name Mark Fox. He wants to know where to pick up my car.... ill give him the address of the police station :) I hope he incurrs a cost for the the "hauler" to get there and turn around empty handed.

Thanks people!!  I looked up his job title and found this page. It helped me out and saved me time and aggravation. His new number is 9793182391. He said his name was Bill.

This guy tried to buy a computer from me off Craig's List using the same Lackland AFB back story you all described. His number was 347-903-8640 and went by the name Fred Tommy.

This guy just tried buying my car and used the same TX Air Force base excuse. I have many military connections and we were able to read through the lines. Now my gf came across this site and he seems to be a popular a***ole scammer. I told him no sale and no more response. He used the name Byron Johnson. Colorado Number 7205154539.

He has a new number.   5203337132.  Same exact messages as all of the posting on here.

I received the same information in a text about an item I was selling on CL. Sounded odd from the start, so I was very tight with info and decided to to a quick internet search for Lackland AFB and SDI 8T000 and found this link...

I received an email regarding my antique bedroom set from a "bill pally" also claiming to be in the military and not able to call and recommending PayPal. My first clue that it was fake is his poor English and the fact that the email was sent at 3am if he wa actually in the time zone he claims to be in

I received the same email while trying to sell furniture on Craigslist; stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and is not able to make phone calls(???), use Paypal, etc.

Like everyone else, I'm so glad I decided to do some checking first before I continued to email him (Bill Pally - if that's his real name?).

So glad I found this information! I, too received the same exact email and questions! So glad I didn't get scammed out of our $10,000 living room set!

I'm so glad I decided to research the number (210) 239 3494 and came across these notes. I also posted an ad on craig's list. I got the same exact email from him today. I suspect it was a fraud, but now I know it is definitely a fraud. Thanks for your post, and all the other post I've seen from others. Everyone please beware and don't fall for this scam.

Do not use this guy as it is a big scam. As you can see we all have received the same email from him. I just checked the Internet and found this forum and the email was the exact same. Good luck selling your items to an honest person

Micheal Smith also contacted me about my craigslist ad. He put a story about being in San Antonio on an AF Base and asked me a bunch of questions like where i live and other things pertaining to the product. same no phone calls and only text thing. also would pay via PayPal. if anybody gets any information on how honest he is please post. This is the number he was using 210-239-3494. Thanks

He only texts because he does not want you to call and hear his accent.  Many of these scammers also pretend to be deaf for the same reason.

I received the same. He said that he could only receive texts and was all very secretive. He could only pay using paypal.
Sounds a little fishy to me.

I have been receiving emails from a "Michael Smith" in regards to my Craigslist ad and he listed this number in which he can only receive Text Messages and no phone calls.

The person using this number is participating in internet fraud.  I need to know who this number belongs to.
