I received a call from this number today. It was not a collections call, it was their HR department calling to let me know they reviewed my resume on careerbuilder.com and wanted to obtain an interview time for a job with them. This is probably their main local number so they could be calling for a multitude of reasons, not just debt collecting.

THIS IS NOT CHASE! It isn't any debt collector. It is a classic example of PHISHING!

201-256-5100 is indeed a PHISHING scam designed to gather personal info and an attempt to breach your secure credit card info. I received 2 calls via my cell, didn't recognize the calling number, never answered. They left no voicemail......I reseacrhed the phone number and found a few comments that indicated it was Chase Card. IT ISN'T CHASE CARD! Chase and any other credit card company would NEVER EVER contact you via the manner described. Think about it for a second; Credit Card companies already possess your personal info, why would they need to call you and ask the same questions? If you're in arrears of payment, there are certainly other methods in which to rectify the default. DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT. If you do, you're a fool.

Please file a complaint with the FCC for each and every call you get.  You can go online to FCC.gov an look for FILE A COMPLAINT - especially if they are calling your cell phone.  It is the only way to stop them.  The more complaints the FCC gets the more pressure they have to find these creeps.  You can fill the form out on line and submit. The more we all do this, the quicker these scammers get discovered.  When they call my work number, I have even waited until they ask for someone, and then I tell them I am transferring the call and connect them right to the FCC at 888-225-5322!!  Please use all of the resources you have to stop these people from trying to get our information.!

They need to stop calling your cell phone all day and parts of the night.  They can see that no one is going to talk to them and waste min. on their cell phone.

It is definitely a scam. I do not have and have never had a chase card or any financial dealings with chase. However, they managed to get a number for a test line at work and repeatedly call it asking for information. I work for a telco and this number they keep trying to call belongs to NO ONE. Add to that the fact that if you request a debt collector to stop calling your number, they must comply and continue with other forms of debt collection to resolve it. Do not even try to pass this of as legitimate.

In all seriousness, Chase does this PRECISELY so you cannot just block and/or ignore their main collections number, etc. It's embarrassingly easy to spoof a CallerID number, so these Chase reps make all their calls by computer, which picks a Chase phone number from anywhere in the world where they have their gazillion-and-one local branches and inserts that number as the CallerID info. Many of these numbers have no text-mapped ties to Chase (thus, you'll see the phone number in place of a text-mapped ID such as "Chase Card Services" on enhanced CallerID).  It's part of their game of cat-and-mouse to get around people who won't answer their calls (which isn't the same as "won't pay their bills"--lots of folks just can't take calls like this at work or don't want to take them via cell but still pay their bills maybe a little late or a little less than the max owed at that moement, FWIW).

I assume it is Chase.  They called and didn't leave a message.  Then 10 seconds later I got a call from 555-555-5555.  Kind of a shady practice they are running.

I answered the call and gave my information like the customer service rep requested, he proceeded to tell me that i was behind on my account.  He said I misread my bill and switched the numbers OK I can see this happening or so I thought instead they stole my account and ran up a $2,000 debt.  I was scammed and I am still fighting it to this day they bought stuff and sent it to a P.O. boxes in Missouri, Washington, Iowa, Ohio and Alabama, and to make matters worse they still call.  I answer their calls just to let them know I am on to them.  I even answered while I was at the bank with my lawyer and police.

I believe this is a scam phone number! I have been getting several calls saying that i signed up for further education classes, that i signed up for the information.
I have in no way, shape, or form, signed up for anything of the sort.
I am 1 1/2 years away from retirement and I have no desire to go back to school.
These calls need to stop.

You are right. there is a voice mail that was empty. I dont like organizations that perform this way.

P.S. When I explained to the person, when they called, that I wanted to be removed from their phone list, the man on the other end got upset and used profanities towards me.

thought you ought to know.

Maybe. Or a scammer. Best to call Chase using the phone number from the back of the card and *ask* for their collections dept. number, no?
