You cant stop these pathetic people. Theres literally nothing you can do but to report it, put the number on the "Do Not Call list"/ Block it and carry on with your day. PLEASE NOTE, the FBI/DEA/Goverenment wont warn you or try to extort you....well, maybe in Mexico but NOT in the U.S.!! If they want you, they'll come and get you, simple as that. I've spent countless hours and even invested in a Cricket phone with a falsified account to harrass and fill up their voicemail box just so it wont happen to other people. It's pointless. they are not, wont and can't be stopped. They use a "switch board" which originates in Santa Domingo, which is why they wont be caught. So unless you want to have some fun, waste your time with pointless threats and have the time to waste, I recrommend the ladder approach and block them. Good Luck and dont fall for anything.

....Karma will find Mr. Julio Joseph sooner or later

I just received a call from the impersonators of the DEA.  I didn't realize this was a scam until the person wouldn't let me off the phone and threatened me with fines, jail time, etc. and suggested I retain a lawyer.  He finally hung up on me after I told him I didn't believe him and he said he'd see me in court and hung up.

Too bad there's no way to stop these criminals.

An Individual Identifying himself as a Javier Pena of the DEA, requested I call him back due to an ongoing investigation of drug purchased via the Internet.  The story is that they closed a pharmacy and several packages were sent to my attention.
He gives the number 1-210-399-6700 x 1525.  It sounds 'official'.

However, the DEA DOEES NOT MAKE CALL TO INDIVIDUALS AT HOME.

"The DEA and any law enforcement agency for that matter would never call the public over the telephone and demand money or demand money period," said Special Agent Jodi Underwood with the Seattle DEA office. "

The DEA is concerned and has put together a special extortion scam hotline.  If you receive a call from one of these crooks, hang up immediately and call the real DEA at 1-877-792-2873.

I recieved a message on January 21, 2013 from someone proclaiming to be Special Agent Lawrence Matthews. I returned the call as the voice mail that they left sounded semi-serious and urgent. I'm from Houston and they called from a 210 area code, which is generally San Antonio. I used a fake name after I attempted to give him my name 3 different times. He was very unprofessional and I could hear other people talking and saying the same thing he was sying to me in the background. When I asked him for his badge number, he became defensive and proceeded to threaten me with Jail time. He said that agents were in fact on the way to my location, at which point I knew it was 100% a scam. I then just kept calling back with my phone, using different names such as Ben Dover, just too see how far they would take it. (Word play....get it?)  After about a good 2 hrs, I became bored and uninterested so I called the REAL LAWRENCE MATTHEWS at the Houston DEA (713) 693-3505 and told him about these people using his idenity. Needless to say, he wasnt too pleased.....Let's just say, since they wanted to be the DEA so bad, they're about to get their wish and become apart of them really soon.

This guy has been harrassing me for days.  I've ignored all his calls, but decided to answer today to play with him.  He needs to get a job and quit trying to scam working people.  I also reported it to the DEA.

I live in Indiana & I've never purchased any drugs over the internet or by phone. I just received a call from this number which was (210)399-6780 TX,USA. I called the number right back because I couldn't understand and it sounded computerized. I did hear that I had a drug package in my name & that this was a DEA agent. I tried to talk but then I realized it was a recording.

I received a phone call today from the same number reported above 210-399-6780.  It sounded fishy to me.  I am so glad that I looked it up before I took another call from them.  I dont understand why they are still scamming people.  Why cant the real DEA call them and pose as one of us? I have blocked the number.  Thanx for informing the public.  We have to always be suspicious of anyone calling over the phone and asking for money.  Whats this world coming to?

I received that call today from a so called James Burns. He asked for my husband...DEA would have known I am a widow be he "politely" terrorized me for an hour. After looking at the real James Burns online I realized a man of that stature wouldn't waste (nor should he) that much time on me for a few hundred dollars. He accused my late husband of buying medication online, which as sick as he was I don't understand.he had plenty of CVS prescriptions.. and even if he were dead I could go to jail as "head of household". I could rectify it buy sending money for a fine. I told him I would call him back and checked with law enforcement who then told me it was a scam. He eventually called me and when I told him I knew it was a scam he hung up! Now I really need medication! Tums...prilosec..and an extra blood pressure pill!!!

Yes, same scam as "bruiser" got.  Claims to be Special Agent James Allen from the Drug Enforcement Administration and claims the DEA busted an internet drug seller that sold drugs on the "black market" and my package from overseas was confiscated.  And I am on a list they seized and this is a very "serious matter" and I must answer his questions or he will obtain an arrest warrant and have me arrested and I will have answer to "the Judge" and also he will get a search warrant and will confiscate and forfeit all my property if I don't answer his questions.  When I tell him I won't answer any questions until I can verify who he is and that he is really a DEA agent he gets angry and threatens again.  So, I tell him to send me something in writing [since he says he already has my address] or, to make it easier I give him my FAX number, but then he refuses and hangs up.  Then he calls again and leaves a message to call asking for extension 1052 and "I MUST answer his questions" or go to jail but he answers the number immediately as " DEA Special Agent James Allen" with the sounds of many goons in the same boiler room all talking at once.  He also calls from 210-399-6780.  Then I have gotten alleged DEA agents calling from Wash DC area from 202-350-0488, 202-350-0188, and 202-350-0286.  Over 2 years ago I received a call from DEA Special Agent Lewis Thompson from Virginia area wanting to ask questions about same subject, and I refused, so he said I was "uncooperative" and said he would send agents to arrest me and and "take me in" to answer the questions and I would be held in custody until I answered.  Thompson called from 804-859-7595.  Calling back it always said "the person at that extension is unavailable. Please leave a message after the tone."
This seems to the "Big DEA Scam" to extort something.  I don't know what because I refuse to answer anything until the person calling verifies to my satisfaction who they are in writing and they can't, and nothing happens.  No arrests yet.

a useless chicken**** trying to pass off as James Allen from DEA. trying to extort money for illegal purchases of prescription drugs over internet.
Obviously got hold of a very old mailing list and wants money to make this issue go away.
Works out of a boiler room as you can hear a bunch of goons trying the same lines to scare people into paying them money.
We have special plans for special a****ole James Allen. You are going down but you will not know where or when but someone will be knocking on your door. Now it's time for you to experience the kind of fear that you put into innocent people. Hope you enjoy baseball.

ALERT - EXTORTION SCAM - ALERT
DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

A man named James Allen from DEA Enforcement phoned my home today.  I said I was not home and took a message.  He said this is a private matter and he could not discuss it.  My husband called the number back and the recorded message at the "DEA" was very amateur.  I google'd his name and knew it was a scam right away and now no one live will answer the phone.

This guy is on a roll.  He basically said that my life as I knew it would be O-V-E-R and I would be thrown into jail for this alleged trafficing of drugs purchased from overseas (lie, lie lie). He said to expect agents on my doorstep within the hour, refused to provide any details about the alleged transactions and that my freedom was in jeopardy.  That I needed to hire an attorney to 'prove my innocence'.  Hmm, last time I checked it was "innocent until proven guilty".  Tried to call back and got a busy signal.  DEA? Yeah right.

I too just got a call from this guy stating that he was with the DEA and his name was James Burns.  My husband said that he knows people in the DEA and that we needed the details of his identification before we would go further.  He told us to search 'James Burns' in the search bar of our computer to prove his identity.  We couldn't help but laugh at him.  The guy began to ramble and said that he had to call us back.

My husband called the DEA and they stated that this was an extortion scam and that we needed to report it within our state.

He's a real chicken boy. I talked to the attorney and went to the cops and had an officer call him. Puss wouldn't even talk to the officer without getting scared and hanging up like a minute into the conversation. She kept calling him back and he wouldn't answer the phone. I guess he won't call again, but if he does I have great plans to have a lot of fun with him now. Screwing around with him keeps him from calling and ripping off others. I recommend keeping him on the line as long as possible and messing with him. If you have a cop friend like I do, have them call him too and see what a wuss he is dealing with a real cop.

I receieved a voice mail from "DEA Agent James Allen" I called the number back and the big clue was the same person that left me a message was the voice on the answering greeting. For such a large government division one would think more than a single person would handle their calls and answering their "switchboard". Nice try though. Might want to have a girlfriend or another scammer help you sound a little more legit.

I just received all from 210-399-6780 x 1525.  DEA special agent James Allen informed me that he the DEA had just intercepted a package with my name and the contents had illegal drugs in them.  I was in very big trouble.  They could take and my property, freeze my banks accounts, ruin my life basically.  BUT they would let me take care of it by paying a fine of $3000 today and it would be like a parking ticket and not show on my record.  When I said I couldn't pay, they offered a payment plan of $150 a month but I said no because I had goggled them and saw it was a scam.  They said "we will have agents at your door in 5 minutes."
Very scary people!
