Call started with "Due to increased criminal activity in your area"....they are trying to sell security systems. Just hang up.

I wish I could say something that would insult or make them mad, but they are to stupid and/or brain dead to recognise what was beeing said to/about them. Of course this is a waste of time also.

There are scammers who spoof phone numbers; they are unable to be traced because they go around the world through different servers.  Anyone for a fee can "steal" someone's phone number and caller ID sometimes will appear as though, you for example, are calling someone even though you aren't.  According to FCC there is not much a consumer can do.  That I think is one reason people are unable to return the call and get a strange type busy signal, or the call won't go through.  It is a spoofed number.  Sometimes with companies like Magic Jack one must dial the entire area code and number, even if living in the local area.  However, don't be surprised if one day you will see in caller ID a call from your own phone; it has happened to a few people I know, including myself.

this number called, and there was no one on the other end, just silent!!. I used caller id. and went to computer to find out who it is, and got here.

The very bored representative hung up on me! I told him I pressed one to tell him it is hilarious to make me an offer for a solar security sign because  I live so far out in the country that when someone reaches my home they are lost.  At some point, I realised he was no longer on the line.

My caller ID showed this number and "San Antonio, TX". I just called it back. A recording of a man's voice promoting free calls with Magic Jack, but then said this was an unassigned Magic Jack phone number.

Those moth******ers are on a roll once again trying to dupe a cretin or two into buying a "free" home security system. I just do my "Tourette's Guy" routine when some a***ole telemarketer calls me. I just tell the caller to go and eat their short dick and walk a mile in my s***!

Company called and hung up.  I called back and it was a Magic Jack advertisement.  Orginal call was for a Security System

Call about a free security system. I received the same call from 3 different numbers in three different states yesterday, August 20, 2013. Ecah time I filed a complaint with the FTC. I think eventually so many complaints to the government will bring some sort of action against these unsolicited calls in violation of the DNC list. So please, each time you get one of these calls file a complaint with the FTC.

Got a call from 210-401-5446 today, yesterday I got a call from 308-210-9052 also reported (here on 800notes.com) to be from GE Security.

I will add them to my SCAM list in my smart phone, I give this category a "Silent" ringtone, they won't bother me again!

Do not have these people come over to your house.  That is a bad idea.  I know you want to get these guys, but I would not let them into my house.

Got a call from these bozos.  Got customer service who hung up on me when I said do not call me, and take my number off the list.  They hung up on me.  When I called back .. I got this poor woman who said she's been getting phones all weekend from people saying .. "did you call me about a security system?"  So these bozos are somehow using her phone number as a call back number which has to be against the law somehow.  When I called the number again .. I got a Magic Jack recording.  I made a complaint w/do not call registry.  Hopefully this woman will stop getting these phone calls from people.  So sick of these scams.

Keep getting calls from this number with their bull crap sales pitch about "due to recent criminal activity in my neighborhood blah blah blah" trying to sell security sytems. I already have a great security system with my trusty Rottweiler and my Sig 226 thank you very much. Now I just don't pick up and have reported to FTC but we all know that does about as much good as pissing on a grease fire. I &%$#ing hate telemarketers.

You would have to be a moron to do business with telemarketers.  Unethical scum trying to steal your money...... what could go wrong?

Tried to find them on the net. Almost impossible to be sure which one it is due to the fact there are many. I think next time, I'm going to accept their free offer to put a sign in my yard, and when they show up to do so, get the details about this particular "company" from whoever shows up and then, TURN THEM IN !!!!!!
The number they use is an unassigned Magic Jack number impossible to trace. So I'll just invite them over to do their thing and then lower the boom. At least I will find out who they are, so my complaint and possible lawsuit will be directed to the correct agent for service of process.
