I had a similar phone call. Can they put you in jail for a payday loan?

They called me on my cell at work trying to obtain my address. She said her name was Gina from a private locator firm. She insisted i confirm my address so she could send me some papers. I refused, she raised her voice and insisted I provide her with my address. i laugh and told her that I dont know her what company want it. I hung up. She called back and said if I dont give her my address she will call my manager. I told her to go ahead. i dont intimidate easily.

received several calls. never answer because I don't know who it is. they never leave a message.

They are rude and try to get you to give them information so they can address the "charges " against you. When you ask for documentation they insist you call another phone number and it's a run around from then on! My advice .. Report the number as harassment and ignore the calls.

Where to start....My Mom received a call today from 210-519-4997 saying that they needed to get a hold of me and that they knew I was her Son. They told her if I didn't call back within 7 hours they were going to press charges on me...So of course my Mom freaked out...she called me right away and was in Shock for what they told her. The lady left her a 1-800-number for me to call back with a claim number...so I called and was on hold for hours...of course I didn't want to hang up or get charges pressed on me. So after 3 hours....something told me to Google this number..I told myself maybe it's a SCAM...sure enough I find these postings. What a Relief....but more of a relief for my Mom. I really want to know who these B*****ds are...What a world this is coming to be..So now I'm starting my investigation and  make these b*****ds pay for putting people thru Headaches and suspense making you feel like you did something wrong.

The person called me at work and asked for a name I hadn't heard of.  I told them they must have the wrong number...he then began to yell at me and hung up.

This company keeps calling and leaving threatening messages even calls my place of employment saying they need to serve me with papers and there is going to be a warrant out for my arrest I'm so tired of these calls till this date I have never spoke to them I do not answer any calls I don't know.  I know that I owe some bills but after my divorce I could not pay certain bills anymore it has come to a game of survival and only paying the necessity living from paycheck to paycheck.

They called me claiming they need to serve me with court papers cause a company was filing charges against me.  When I told her to just serve me with the papers she suggested I call the company cause of the charges. The number to that company was 1-888-412-3296

I just got a call from this number claiming they are going to serve me with court papers. They claimed I was having charges filed against me.  Of course no other info was given.

THIS IS A SCAM!!! They called me saying I owed on some Payday loan from three years ago, and that if I didn't pay; a warrant would be out for my arrest and I would be going to jail...
LOL first of all they CANNOT take you to jail, they can sue...but thats it.
Second of all DO NOT confirm any information with these people, they found what they could online and are hoping you provide the rest.
DO NOT PAY THEM!!! Ask for proper documentation, because you have rights and file a complaint on both State and Federal levels. THIS IS A SCAM!!!

My husband was contacted by a caller from this number who said they were looking to speack to me about check fraud.  When I called back the number they did not know who I was or why they called.

Its obvious these folks have been reported numerous times. I called and I was told to google the number and came upon this site. They have no jurisdiction other than a small civil suit, if that. I'm also going to call the office of the DA myself.

Caller identified himself as investigator for Weinberg (sp) & Associates, trying to intimate that I would be contacted regarding my ex dtr-in-law's family.  Asked if my son knew her whereabouts & when I laughed & said "NO", he hung up w/o saying anything.

the fbi says this is a scam so please call ur fbi and let them know

Dial AT&T Call Trace Center...they handle harrassment issues like this one. The number 210-519-4997 is a customer of theirs. I will post any info i get tomorrow. The center is closed now

They access your info and friends/family from your facebook profile. Make sure you change your settings to "friends only"

Won't give me information about "my pending prison time" for check fraud...But keeps calling wanting information...Quite a scammer. If anyone has a mailing address for the folks, I'd love it..My lawyer would love it..

Why is it imperative?  CAn't they send a letter in the mail with their request for money? They say they cannot...why is that? Is it a scam? Wouldn't a legit place send a letter demanding payment? Especially if you ask them to do so???
