This is NOT a legitimate USAA number - USAA's number is 800-531-8722.

I didnt answer because i thought it was bogus.  I turned out to be USAA trying to get hold of me because my daughter was trying to remove her car from my insurance. They left a voice mail.  It was a legitimate USAA call.

It was a call from USAA saying that they had settled my claim from an accident.

Seconding this.  Got a bank info update call from this number today on a change I'd made over the phone recently, it is in fact them.

This number is legit for USAA.  Other scammers may be "spoofing" it or whatever but its a legit number for USAA.  Of course they would "spoof" a legit number....they wouldn't  "spoof" a scam number would they....kinda self-defeating to do that. The guy handled my auto claim with USAA. He verified who he was by giving me info that only a claim handler would know about my claim. Keep in mind...all electronics can be fooled/defeated in some way.  Sorry if you have been dooped before, but this is a legit number.  Good luck to all.

A legitimate call from USAA regarding a claim about an accident I had a few days ago. Received message from a real USAA agent just keeping me apprised of what's going on & letting me know there's nothing I need to do right now.

This site needs other call type options, even just an "other" option. None seemed to fit so I chose event reminder since the call was a legitimate call, although being rear ended a few days ago isn't really something I need to be reminded of. LOL

It is from USAA. That doesn't make it trustworthy or legitimate...

This is a USAA number, and if you're a customer and they really need you, they can email you. Also, USAA DOES have rude people who are not the brightest folks, and they always ask inappropriate questions when you want something to see if they can sell you something else.  Also, it's not just for military and their families - that's just a marketing tactic they use to attract customers.  In fact, USAA isn't even a real credit union...

210-531-8722 is a legitimate USAA number - 8722 = USAA and if you go on their site it shows this number.  However the spoofing thing seems to be a prominent issue...

Loan processing for USAA (military credit union).  I called number to co-sign for step-sons personal loan.  Regardless, google any number in-coming/out-going to verify legitimacy prior to giving any info.  Stay safe!

I had a call from this number on my work phone from last night.  Coincidentally, while I was reading these posts this morning, they called back.  It was a totally legitimate call from a local USAA Financial Center. While there may have been some instances in which the  number was used for scamming, that is obviously not always the case.
I'm listing the Call Type as "Unknown" because none of the other options are accurate.

Sue, the do not call list DOES work about 99% of the time (there is always the one or two stray calls that find their way through no matter what) but it does not apply to collections or political calls.  If you are receiving 5-15 "illegal" calls per day, you have a lot more in your past that you are hiding than you would want us to believe.  If you legitimately owe someone money, even if it's from 30 years ago, those collections calls are perfectly legal like it or not.

Legit USAA #. I'm a 24 year member. The call from this number was regarding a claim in progress. A message was left by a real USAA employee.

Received legitimate voice mail from USAA about a recent accident claim.

I just received a call from this number. It's Tuesday and 5:52. This is the FIRST time USAA has EVER called me and I've been with them for a few years now. Some of you mentioned retirement services.. Maybe that's why. I just recently spoke with them regarding that subject. They did leave a voicemail asking me to call back, but I won't be. I'll deal with them tomorrow by calling the number on the back of my card, as usual.

I got a call from thiss number but was driving so I said I would call him back. He had my name. Of course when I called back I got the USAA recorded greeting and had no idea who to ask for. Chumps.

Not that USAA's number couldn't be spoofed, but in my case it was not.  I have been a USAA member since 1982, IIRC.  

My hubby and I were involved in a minor collision on our way to visit family for Christmas.  This call was from USAA needing to discuss the claim.  I AM a little annoyed that they called my home phone (their voicemail was then emailed to me)--as the accident location would indicate, I'm not at home, and I had provided a local number when initiating the claim.  

But anyway, this was not a scam call.  Again, though, the bad guys, may they all burn in Hades, can spoof caller IDs.  

BTW, this site needs a call type of "legitimate business call" or something similar.

Nah, not me! I trust that this isn't USAA. It's a scammer. They even left a different callback number (they left a message) that someone already posted here.

And for USAA customers, this wasn't started by USAA, and USAA didn't give out your numbers. I've never dealt with them, ever. The scammers are hitting our numbers at random, hoping for a sucker.

Plus, I'm on my state and the federal DNC list. I've been on it for about a year. Scammers don't follow that list. They're already doing something illegal, so why should they care, y'know?

If this number calls you, call back the customer service number on USAA's website if you aren't convinced it's the scammer. They should set it straight.

"usaa does not let anyone use there name " ... that doesn't even make sense.  Just because a company is big/been in business a long time/<insert complimentary adjective here> doesn't mean they have ANY control over whether or not someone else is spoofing their number.  Now I have no idea if the number is being spoofed or not, but how in the world could USAA control, for example, an off-shore scammer who has spoofed their number?

I am a real person and a real disgusted member. This is not a plant this is a real message.like I said beware. I know for fact that usaa does not let anyone use there name .so if someone is calling it is a third party of usaa . They r not the company they use to be and the third party people r very rude . If u r actully speaking with the real usaa u know . They r very profesional and know who u r after all it members only.

U shouldnt of even gave her that long. Usaa is a federal gov company and should know what happens when u harass people and thats what they r doing to u file a complaint with the ftc

My husdand and I have been members for 35 yrs ,we have hired leagle councel to figure out what is going on with usaa just beware they r two big of a company not to know if someone is using thier name .I spoke with the real usaa and the third party usaa they are scamming people. Bee with them since 1998 and I've encountered 1 rude person while I was buying a home through USAA.  You either have bad luck with people or you're just plain rude yourself.

They just called me and left a message to settle a claim. The person who hit my car has USAA. Not a scam.

It's legitimately USAA. An agent called me back about a claim I had filed half a year ago, and I had just received an email about it. She left a voicemail number and told me to call back the normal USAA number, with her extension.


I think the reason this number is not officially listed with USAA is because their agents probably have a different set of numbers than the normal customer service number.. I don't know, all I know is this person was from USAA and wasn't harassing me about buying insurance

2nd attempt at my bank info comprised.  I've been hacked - 3 transactions show up on statement from USAA 'testing' fraud measures in place.  I check every day, several times a day.  You should too!  All accounts now 'restrained'.  2 were for deposits of .17 & .51 and the other for a withdrawal of .71.  I guess waiting to see if anyone would notice.  Now I get 2 calls from them today on cell?  Suspicious!  I don't do business with them.  I haven't been in any accidents.  BEWARE!

Received a call from 210-531-8722, did not answer. Message wanted me to call back via an 800 number in reference to my "inquiry" which I did not make. Obvious scam using legit number to get you to call another number. Beware.
